I had the worst customer experience here of my life today. I never write reviews but felt that it was warranted here. My recommendation is if you have Fedex returns don't go here. I am used to the UPS store where they are so nice and friendly and tape the box up and send you on your way. The complete opposite here. I walked in the store with my returns and there was no one else in the store. Empty. No greeting or anything. When I walked to the counter I could already tell the man was annoyed by his body language. He didn't even say "how can I help you?" Mind you, the store is empty. I said "Hi I need to return some packages." He looked super annoyed and said do you expect me to tape this for you? He said I will do it this one time. I said, "Oh I don't know that you don't do that here - I can take it somewhere else. He started SCREAMING at me ... SCREAMING ...."What do expect me to work for free? To waste my time and money taping your boxes?" I was like umm no I said I would take them somewhere else - you are saying that - not me - I said no thank you - I can tell you are really annoyed I will gladly take them somewhere else. It was shocking actually - the screaming. And I took my boxes somewhere else. I went straight to the FedEx on Del Mar Heights and had the opposite experience - they were so lovely and helpful - taped them with a smile and gave me my receipt. I told him my experience and he told me it's because the postal annex is a third party - but he was surprised because he said they get a stipend from FedEx for taking their packages. Maybe he was having a bad day - but his customers don't deserve the brunt of his anger. My advice if you have FedEx drop offs go to Del Mar Heights read more

Great helpful location ! They take passport photos for $13.99. Owner and staff were super nice . He even let us approve the pic taken for the passport :) They also offer USPS service ( we did the priority mail option which was about $12.95). He also said they accept amazon returns with pre printed labels . Location has mailboxes , copy machine , greeting cards , etc . Trusted this store to ship a set of $1400 bicycle wheels. The wheels were never scanned in at the store and never made it to their final destination. Because they were never scanned in at the store I have no recourse with UPS so I'm SOL and the store has been no help. The wheels were already securely packaged and pre labeled, all the store needed to do was give them to the UPS driver. I handed the box the store owner and saw him carry them to the back, after that they disappeared, no tracking, nothing ... store owner just shrugs and says theirs nothing he can do. Needless to say I won't be shipping anything from here again and if you do, make sure you get a receipt and a picture of the packaging when you drop it off. read more

1. They don't offer a facility that provides privacy between patrons in line. They offer little in the way for patrons who express concern regarding this issue, in my experience they actually helped the creep behind me after I said something... while I had to wait and fill out my addresses. 2. They don't accept anything but cash for any purchase under $5 and are not up front about this, I was in an uncomfortable situation due to this, and was made to feel bad for not carrying cash. 3. Yes 2 stars because I mistakenly filled out an envelope and they decided not to charge me the 55 cents for the envelope, but they could have: A) Told the creep to stand back while private information is being exchanged, B) Filled out an electronic shipping label, C) Told me up front about types of legal tender they accept due to transaction amounts, D) NOT HELPED an obvious rude creep BEFORE a concerned customer who was already there seeking services and had ALREADY VOICED CONCERN about a creep being a creep. Horrible service. Went in to drop off a few boxes with pre-paid tags and was kicked out with a lame reason - we have no room. Are you kidding me? Just cuz I didnt buy stamps from you, you refused my drop off, and with a bad attitude? I thought that's what postal annex is for!!! This would have been a 5* if it had 24 hour access to the mailboxes. This is your usual UPS Store type competition. Photocopies, limited greeting cards, mailing supplies, complete shipping services, and rental mailboxes inside. The staff has always been superfriendly at this location ever since opening and the prices for mailboxes are competitive with the local UPS Store further into town. I would have moved my mailbox here except for the limited access hours for mail. They close the gate to the mailboxes at something like 6 pm during the week. I am spoiled by the few times I use the 24 hour access at the competing UPS store. If they could fix this issue and allow 24 hour access to the mailboxes I would move my account here in an instance and open up a mailbox. Highly recommended. read more

Ricky and his wife and so pleasant and so helpful, it's hard NOT to go here! i know prices are more expensive than the Post Office. Of course it is, they are running a business. But the convenience and the help they offer makes it worthwhile. One time I lost a very important tracking number for an item I returned and the vendor said they never rec'd it. I went back and Ricky's wife went through all the receipts for the 3 day window I had given her and found it for me. I had the proof and rec'd the credit. So yeah, USPS is less expensive, but I highly doubt they would have helped me look for my tracking number. Then again, they are nice there too! read more

Super slow and unprofessional! It took the guy 10mis to fold my label. There was only me in the store and it took them 30mins just to print a label for my drop off.l, which can be done in 5mins wherever else. Their prices are absurd and their customer service is awful. Just go to a USPS location. My story: It's 11AM and I needed to mail something certified to the next town over. I was about to go to the gym with my friend, so instead of going a few miles down the road I ran across the street and tried out this place I had seen a few times in the parking lot. I walk in and I am told that someone will be with me soon. The wait was not that bad, but once I was being helped it felt like I was a secondary thought to whatever the clerk was doing. I asked him if he could help me figure out the m zip code for the address that I had and when I tried to give him the address he interrupted me and it took me three tries to give him the street name. Once we finally got that sorted out, he started the transaction and told me it would be over ten dollars to mail I was in a hurry and I needed it mailed so I didn't question the price, turns out that's a $3 convenience fee for me not driving down the road and doing my business directly through the postal service to mail my envelope. I can overlook charging for convenience, but as soon as I tried to pay, he handed me some additional papers I needed to address very quickly and went over to speak with his friend who had just entered the store. I stood there waiting for five minutes while he helped his friend holding my completed package waiting to hand it to him. I even tried to hand it to him at one point and he told me to wait. Needless to say, I won't be going back. read more

I have had unfortunately too much experience with postal services in San Diego. Ghada and her husband, and their management team, are the stars of the post office world in this part of the county. Seriously. They are even better than the Del Mar post office, which is good simply from its location among twisted old Torrey Pines, an ocean mist's distance from the beach --- it's like a spa visit every time you go to that post office. But it's in a trafficky, slow, pedestrian area, which makes it effortful. You might have to circle the block a few times to get a parking space. Going to Ghada's store at Torrey Hills Shopping Center was never anything but a breeze. No parking meters. No tickets. No close-calls with strollers or surfers on bicycles. You park right in front, you run in, you forgot your key, no problem, you get your mail, and if Ghada is there, you also receive a bright, beautiful smile. Same thing with her husband. Kind, seriously warmhearted people. They are not out just to make a buck. They are integrating with the community, getting to know their customers. They add value, not just another commodity to the scene. The prices are extremely reasonable. There is absolutely nothing not to like. If you have a choice for your mailbox needs, if you see money as energy, and it matters to you that you give your energy to those who make the world a better, rather than a worse (or more zombielike) place, give this Postal Annex a shot. Heck, even if you don't see the world in such dramatic terms as I do, patronize this business anyway. It rocks. read more

Thanks Postal Annex! This place was very helpful. I came here to get a live scan from out of state. There was an issue with my license being out of state and the live scan software was not accepting my drivers license. They took the time to call the tech support and they walked them through overriding the portion that wouldn't accept my last license. It took a little while but I really appreciated the fact that he took the time to make it work. I think most people in that situation would have just said sorry it's not going to work. The new Business owners are wonderful! They are friendly and very helpful with all your shipping needs. There is usually three people working so you are able to get in and out of there pretty fast. As a PO Box holder since 2011, and having various services performed through time, I highly recommend this Postal Annex location. The owners are super friendly, know me by name, and greet me every time I enter their store. Their staff has been gracious to contact me when I've expected a critical piece of mail to be delivered, and when packages necessary for my business had been received. Regarding shipping & other related items, they charge a fair price given the convenience & manual effort required to securely pack items. Consider this Postal Annex store the next time you need shipping services or office supplies or a PO Box. I stopped in to get some lamination done and I love that the first thing she said is that it was going to take fifteen minutes to do all my pages if I wanted to just come back? Yes! Thank you! I had another errand in the center. Next, the quality! I took something a few days later to Office Depot and I can not believe the difference. i really want to give less stars. They need to know their passport pictures are measured wrong! I went to take passport pictures to renew my passport. It came out good, price was 17 bucks, its fine. I went to the passport agency and it will be done in 2 hours max, since I brought everything. When I went to the window to give out my passport application, they told me i need to take a another photo because it was too SMALL! no not the picture, the face was too small. they took he pictures WRONG. I had to retake the picture, go back to the agency and wait in the line again. I lost precious time and was too late to go back to work. When I went to complain, they only said "I didnt do anything wrong" really? If the passport agency denied your pics for being too small, then no, you guys did something wrong. They gave me half of the money back but I wanted an apology, not money. I guess its my fault to go to postal annex to get passport picture. Oh, cvs does 8 bucks for passport photos and they DO IT RIGHT! read more

Absurd price mark up. Shipping a 3lb small 6" cube package standard ground and they quoted $30 so left package even though I thought it was over priced. They called back and said price is actually $57. It sounded like a hustle as it seemed they sensed the urgency or a customer that wanted to get it done. I then double-checked the price on UPS.com and was quoted $18.26. That is a huge markup for such a simple service. Buy directly from UPS and print out your own label. You can drop it off at Postal Annex for nothing. read more

But when I did, I noticed she got a little nervous. Nonetheless, I let it go only because it was a small amount and I didn't want to argue over a few dollars.
