The supervisors here are no help, whatsoever. Specifically Stormi and Robert. When you think the local federal offices may be the most helpful during this pandemic, this post office location has been the worse. As many businesses have closed, and people have resorted to working from home, we set up a forwarding mail in place since March. I have had to visit this location about 10 times, because neither the carriers nor the supervisors seem to be able to do their job unless someone keeps nagging and pushing them to do the work. I would have preferred to not have to go and have contact with these people, but I have been having to go here just to get them to forward our mail. What's worse, the carrier brings our mail to someone else's office and no one seems to understand how wrong that is. Even one of the workers told me that if you don't become super mad and angry with the supervisors, they won't do anything about your issue, and they won't take you seriously. What a joke. Wow! Just came out of post office on Vassar and had a great experience. A helpful lady greeted me as I entered, and then lent me a pen to address my envelope. She also had a stapler and tape available. Waited in line less than 5 minutes and was waited on efficiently. Thanks USPS! They also have a big self-serve area where you can weigh packages and purchase postage from a machine. read more

It is with much dread that I trudge to this PO. My visits have become more frequent of late so I get to "enjoy" this beachhead of purgatory with greater frequency. Hey, parking is not too bad and even longish lines tend to move faster than the speed of smell. That said, it looks old, it smells old, it has the overall level of cheer found at a wake, the prices are always higher than those listed on usps.com (grr!) and approximately half the folks working there seem nearly devoid pleasant demeanor. Gruff, curt...I feel like I'm circling the word but can't quite land the plane. Anywho, suffice it to say this is not my favorite place to go for shipping/mailing and thankfully I haven't needed to deal with the passport line. I'd still be there! read more

Without a doubt this place has to be the worst post office in Northern Nevada. No matter the time of year you go there are always lines with counter clerks more interested in their lunch and breaks then providing customer service. As for the mail delivery out of this location its pitiful deliveries are made any time between 10am and as late as 8pm and then probably 20% of the mail is delivered to the wrong address. This post office is the poster child for why the system is bankrupt. read more

In spite of all the bad reviews, I had a very good experience here today. I went for my passport and there were about 7 people ahead of me. While standing in line I noticed a sign saying appointments are needed for passports. I figured I'd ask the clerk anyway instead of turning around and leaving. Turns out, she took my paperwork and all the documents needed, and processed my application quickly. Denise was absolutely wonderful to me and I'm happy I didn't have to come back for an appointment! read more

Contacting the post office directly by phone is impossible. Can not even leave a message. We live out past Spanish springs and our packed go undelivered many times!! We face to go into the pat office to pick up packages. It is very frustrating. We have made multiple complaints and nothing is ever changed. read more

It's been 200 years and we still haven't figured out how to deliver mail? Whoever the delivery driver is for 89502 is a complete idiot and has delivered my package to the wrong apartment 3 different times this WEEK. To 3 different addresses. Each package was from a different sender so I am sure this is a usps issue. But of course, there's nothing they can do, not even offer the address who has my mail, which yes they have told me they know who has it. Probably the worst experience I've ever had with USPS. I ordered 2 day shipping on Monday, and now its Thursday and my package still didn't come. The tracker says my package left this location Tuesday night, and I still haven't heard anything since. For all I know they still have it. I paid an extra 11 bucks to not get my package on time. It's really awful how USPS is trying to act as if they are going to help w passports when, mine was a renewal, my son's was a 1st time and neither of us have one. We started the process 5/13/2019, it's now the end of September 2019. Your supervisors or managers couldn't/wouldn't help. I went through all the proper channels at least 3 dozen times, sent 3 certified letters. If you can't complete process beginning to end, effectively then, you shouldn't do it at all. I waited in for 5 hrs to get my passport after getting turned around twice before because of timing regardless of how long I was waiting, it's really terrible that they don't cut the line off at a certain person or they let the line go out the door then come and tell you they will be closing in an hr if you make it threw great if you don't come back another day! .... And wait 5 hrs to get turned down. Getting my passport was a nightmare however the gal that helped me her name was Dawn she was quick and nice and understanding! I think the government needs a more effective way to get your passport! However I don't blame there employees there just going what they are told and doing the best they can! read more

I have been trying to track down a very important package for over a week. I called the USPS customer service line this morning and was told the post office had the package, I arrive and wait for over an hour just to be told they do not have it. The employee who assisted me, if I could even call it that, was very condescending and rude to me. I have been jumping through every hoop possible trying to find this package and I am exhausted by the entire situation. read more

Lately my service has been terrible. No mail on Sat & Mon, then a lot of mail shows up in my box and half of the rest in giving to the house next to me. I had ordered a return pick-up and the mailman just look at at and left it on my walkway. (said a dog was loose), a direct LIE. Postman cut through yards, and landscaping. Left numerous notes to not walk through yard, and they continue with an attitude. They lack respect of any sort when it comes to taking shortcuts and mess up landscaping causing home owners unneeded work cleaning up their mess they left with basically trespassing. Their job is to deliver mail, it's their job, they get paid to do this job and get paid well. It is blatant disrespect to cut through yards. My direct neighbor had her sprinkler head broken by a postman cutting through their yard from cutting through my yard and across my driveway into their yard. I have complained to the supervisor of these postman at Vassar, and he had an attitude and did nothing. They don't care. Maybe in when they appear for a class action lawsuit in court they will care. A hint if this is happening to you, witnesses and video cannot be argued ;-) Bottom line, the supervisor for the postman, and the postman themselves from Vassar do not care about your yard, have no respect for your yard or the customer -which is us, we pay the postage, etc... read more

Seriously, anything run by the government sucks, but if you are getting a passport, plan on standing in line for hours. As I type this, I have been waiting in line for 1/2 an hour. The same family of 5 has been at the counter the whole time. I am 5th in line and there are 3 people behind me. They simply don't have enough people working passports. The lady doing passports is nice enough but my God, if you've ever seen the sloths from Zootopia, she was trained by them. I would suggest coming a half hour before they open, standing at the front door and making a beeline for the passport counter as soon as you hear the click of the unlocking doors. You might get taken down be others who have the same idea, but it could save hours of your life. read more

The only reason I have any stars was for the ONE staff member who went out of his way to communicate & treat us customers with respect. He walked all the way across the store to "find a needle in a haystack". He rocked my socks. His name was Brad. Yay Brad! I was given dirty looks by one man who talked to me as if I had no idea where I was. Other customers were polite with him (after he gave up on me & handed us over to Brad) & he was still rude & short-tempered. So...go there for Brad! read more

The Passport "service" is beyond ridiculous. There is only one staff member who works the line, and (according to the employees) it takes about 15 minutes to process a customer. Do the math: this is only 4 customers per HOUR. I waited over 5 HOURS in line just to submit a passport application. read more

I am trying to understand why the package I mailed to my son from Sacramento to Reno has not yet been delivered (6 days later). Since he has had NUMEROUS problems with his mail delivery recently, I sent it with a tracking number. It sat for 57 hours in the Reno Post Office before the site decided to update to 'Delayed" which I am now thinking probably means Lost or Stolen. Items my son has not had delivered in the past 3 weeks: 2 bank ATM cards, a credit card, a new Drivers License, a birthday card and now a package, which was tracked just fine until it arrived in Reno. Lesson learned here: go with UPS from now on and I now have a clear understanding of why the USPS is failing. read more

Were it not for the fact that it is ridiculous to spend $50 to ship a small package to Europe via UPS or FedEx, I would never have stepped into this ignominious, anachronistic, pensioner-breeding pustule of a government monopoly. The reason UPS and FedEx can't ship your package for less is that the feds would consider it non-express service and in direct competition with the government monopoly service. Today, there was only one inexplicably perky clerk, and I waited 30 minutes to get served. Meanwhile, he allowed people who were just picking up their mail to jump ahead of everyone else. Does this make any sense? I can understand if two people were working, one can thin the line easily by handling non-cash exchanges, and I would appreciate them thinning the herd of apparently homeless folk waiting perchance for their monthly trust fund checks despite the clear stipulations they unburden themselves of heroin addiction and unemployment. But if there's only one clerk, you're just allowing people to cut in line. I don't know about you, but if I was homeless, I'm not exactly impatient to get out of there and wander about freely the rest of the f/king day to do nothing. I'd actually consider the air conditioning a rather nice respite from the heat and insist on waiting out my turn. read more

This main post office is responsible for delivering the certified mail in my area. Consistently the carrier will not come to the door and get a signature for the mail. They sit in the vehicle and fill out the "sorry we missed you" form and drive off. I have even been at the front door waiting for the mail and have caught them doing this. I have complained to the postmaster and the supervisor but they continue this illegal practice. Too bad the PO here was not dissolved--maybe Sac would have done a better job at delivering the mail properly. Please, if this has happened to you, complain. read more

What happen to the days of wanting to tip your mail carrier or give them baked goods during the holidays? Well they are no more, at least for our house. Our mail lady is the meanest, pissed off person I've ever encountered! Her attitude aside, she has now complained to her office about our dog, who is in the house and has no access to her at all. One time, about 6 months ago the door was ajar a bit and he barked at her and frightened her, I apologized but received no response. 6 months latter we receive a letter stating we must keep our dog inside(which he is) or we will not get our mail delivered. Forget getting mail delivered, I've had an important time sensitive bill not go out for 4 days now because she doesn't want to do her job!!! I am so outrageously pissed off at her I don't know what to do! read more

I have been waiting for months for my neighborhood mailbox to have the lock fixed. I received a call from Kathy to come pick up my new keys. I went to the post office and was abused by LINDA, an obnoxious postal clerk. I said Kathy left me a message. She stated Kathy does not call anybody and does not leave messages!! She threw a package of 3 keys on the desk and said "next time you lose these, it will cost $40 each!! I chose not to correct her by letting her know, I did not lose my keys, the lock on my box is broken. Guess what?? I got home, and tried the key in my mailbox, the lock has not been fixed and is still broken. Why did they give me keys if the lock had not been fixed. There are some wonderful agents at the post office. The supervisor on duty was amazing, he tried very hard to help, I'm sorry I don't remember his name. David was another agent that tried to help but rude, nasty LINDA was going to get her way and was absolutely obnoxious. She should not be allowed to deal with the public, she obviously hates her job and the people she encounters read more

How bad can the mail delivery get? I live on a small street where all the same people have lived for several years but it seems that our mail delivery person can not find the right mail box or even get the mail in the box(on the ground). Also after a mail hold for vacation it took me 3 trips to the post office to get it turned back on and received my neighbors mail in my mail that was picked up at the Main Post Office. No one seems to care no matter how many mistakes are made by the same people. read more

Oh my lord the staff is like a live play for the term disgruntled. The customer is an inconvenience to them and they act with impunity when demonstrating their annoyance. I tend to believe that it goes most the way up and is the general attitude of management at this location as well. They have changed rules for after hours service to basically have none, even though there are multitudes of employees working on site. When I had an issue, and had to go up the chain of command, and finally reached someone in management (in person because you will be endlessly led in circular circulation by phone) the only difference appears to be that they will glad hand you and PRETEND to care. Telling you it will be "looked into" and "resolved" and they will "follow up" with you, but they won't and when you try to reach them by phone of course you will receive more of the same. I once saw a small protest from some of the workers here asking for support in not letting them become privatized as opposed to their being ran by the government. With their behavior I can't see why I would ever think for a moment that the current system is working to the benefit of anyone but the employees who so blatantly show how few fox they give. read more

Horrible experience with an employee named David. He was rude and didn't do what he said he was doing. I was told to pick up a package and when we arrived to pick up he said that it was being transferred and on a machine so he could not grab it. I called the number that I had called earlier and it was never on a machine. it was waiting for us as I expected but David was too lazy to go look. David should NOT be working at the front desk. During the Holiday rush the line was long and many of the customers were typically disgruntled. I was pleasantly surprised to find that the Post Office had an employee out in the middle of the lobby helping guide customers to the correct boxes, labels, and forms before they reached the window. It made the line move quickly and efficiently, and this employee treated each person with patience and kindness. This was service at its best, and I made a point to tell him so. read more

RENEWING YOUR CHILDREN'S PASSPORTS. Went online, downloaded all the forms, filled them out, had their pictures taken, pulled out the birth certificates, photocopies of our driver's license etc..... in other words I read all the instructions and followed them to the T. Since both parents and the kids have to submit a renewal in person, the 4 of us head on down to the UPSO on Vassar. We get to the counter and are asked if we had an appointment. We said no, so they told us they worked by appointment only. I then pointed to their own sign posted right there that that said "No appointment required for renewals". Then we are told that passport renewals for minors are not really renewals, but new applications and we needed an appointment. They then handed me the forms that I would need, which were the exact forms I already had completed. They still would not take us without an appointment. But wait there's more...there was not a single person in line. They currently had NO appointment, but they still would not take us. And did I mention that there were TWO people working the passport counter and not a single customer between them. They actually sent us to USPO in Sparks, which took us without an appointment and the gal, Janet, was friendly and helpful and efficient. I know this is not reflective of all government employees, but you can certainly see why a few bad apples reflect the lack of efficiency and customer service provided by government entities. read more
