The addition of the self-serve kiosk has really aided in reducing wait times. We were this Post Office's 1st customer when they opened in 1994. We have a PO Box & go there almost everyday. In those 29 years, they have the same number of clerks now as when they opened. There are usually 2 or 3 friendly faces on duty to help. Today was a mixed day for the post office. I attempted to use the mail at yourself Consol outside and after waiting through two people discovered it was no longer taking packages. So I needed to go inside the lobby and get behind the four other people that had entered since I stood in line at the self-serve kiosk. On a more positive note, there were three folks serving everyone in line and it went very quickly. The post office employee actually apologized for the lengthy wait and the machine in the main lobby being out of order. Five stars for the post office employee who served me and did an excellent job as she was fast, efficient and quite courteous. Zero stars for the machine being out of order on a busy Monday and a sign not posted directing you to get in line if you have a package to mail because it wasn't excepting packages today. Why do I feel like I just got scammed? I ran a fundraiser for my daughters soccer team. The girls made STRING bracelets and we put them in an envelope with a thank you note. I show up and Regi tells me it is now a parcel and " I can't just put anything in an envelope." I was then charged $4 an envelope to send string bracelet to Washington in a standard envelope. As you can imagine we lost some money on shipping and as a result some bracelets only made $1. I even made a comment that I feel scammed. Regi reassured me that I have to do it this way because my envelope is not completely flat. I will note it was pretty flat. When I went home I was very mad to see that my envelopes WOULD qualify as a flat piece of mail! read more

Inept. Poor delivery. My mom's mail in Del Webb is always put in wrong box. My neighbor's mail in west Reno often in mine. I was supposed to get a certified letter last week and they left a note to sign for delivery when I'm away, but didn't. Today we went in to send in a passport application for our 21 month old. I hardly ever go to the post office so I had no idea that you now need an appt. The 2 employees we initially talked to were very friendly and said that the appt just before we had arrived never showed up and went back to get the lady that does the passports. Amber initially approached us as if we were greatly inconveniencing her, she was very rude and short and told us that she would not help us and said she could make an appt for 4 weeks out! I am all about efficiency and for the most part, this USPS does its job well. I don't really understand the hate post offices get on a regular basis, because every time I'm there, the wait is reasonable, the services I get are never bad, and I get my mail/packages delivered when they're supposed to be delivered. I've been to this location a few times, since I live close by, and I've never had a terrible experience like other people. The wait is usually 10-15 minutes no matter what time I go, and the employees are always nice, quick, and efficient with my packages. They ask me a few questions like if it's fragile or if there are any harmful chemicals. The answer is almost always no. So I end up paying right away and leaving within 5 minutes of getting to the front desk. The main reason this place only gets four stars is the fact that most people don't know how to mail things. One time, a woman in front of me did not wrap her package and she forgot the address she was sending it too. This caused the wait to be longer. If people can just learn how to mail things properly, then the lines would go so much quicker. I feel sorry for the employees who have to deal with this kind of ignorance on a daily basis. Overall, I would go to this post office again. Employees are efficient and friendly, and my packages are always delivered on time. I just hope people will learn how to mail things properly. read more

The post office has a less than stellar reputation when it comes to efficiency as well as customer service, but this location is totally different. The employees are extremely helpful and friendly and are always willing to take the time to ensure that you're satisfied. Yes, the wait times can be long as this location is quite small and gets busy fast, however there is a self-serve kiosk if you don't want to endure waiting in line or are in a rush. There is also plenty of parking, clean and well maintained, as well as located in a convenient area. I don't understand how they got this package in my mailbox! I ordered a box of face masks on Amazon, and they managed to shove the package in my mailbox. The box is smashed and the entire package ripped while trying to take it out of the mailbox. This post office staff went ABOVE AND BEYOND for me! I had a god awful experience at the Reno McCabe location, I was turned away and treated like crap for my passport appointment after driving 2 hours + from Sacramento (twice) and then told their passport person called in sick the following day. After being in tears I contacted the Peavine Location and I was treated with kindness and compassion. Even though they were fully booked the staff was able to get me in so my daughter could complete her application. Everything went smooth at this location and I am forever grateful! Ok. I know it's the post office, what is to review? Well post office, DMV, the Courts usually get a bad review and people are rude to each other on both sides of the transaction. We'll I have been holding off on this review until I got a real view on them. GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE and very helpful! I have had some detailed conversation and they have been awesome to deal with. This post office is beyond giving it even 1 star. I mailed a package to my son in another state and he never received it. I received a letter in the mail with my package label indicating the label fell off and to file a search claim. I was beside myself because I securely taped the label on thoroughly with tape. After filing 3 claims, 1 every 2 months, the USPS could not locate the package even with a tracking number. I was heart-sick because there were irreplaceable family photo's from 1948 in the package. I couldn't file a loss claim because it was not insured. On another incident, I wasn't able to pick my mail up for 4 days & because of excessive junk mail, the mail box was full & the mail was sent back to the post office for pick up. The previous carrier use to place my extra mail in the larger mail box. I was livid to say the least. One time, I paid for a green signature card on an envelope and never got the card back with a signature. I was told I needed the receipt to track it down which I couldn't give them because I have numerous receipts and the receipts don't identify the name of the addressee. The new carrier also is constantly redirecting mail to the wrong address & on several occasions, I never get my delivery packages/boxes. Ran home from work, grabbed my birth cert out of the safe and headed over around 4:30. Oops, they do not do new passports after 3! I hate this USPS. Kristina my the mail lady who does my route lost my package. I live in a condo complex so I'm assuming she put it in the wrong parcel box. I went to the office and they said it was delivered and it wasn't !! Kristina told me that she would call me after she looks through all the parcel boxes if it was there or not. She never did. All she could carelessly say was " well i don't know what to tell you but to file a claim" and then she told me that someone picked my package up ?? Even though I never did. I called the 1800 number and i filed a lost package. The manager called and told me to contact the seller. The seller told me it's not their responsibility. So i filed ANOTHER CLAIM to get some money back and they said " we have proof of delivery" so i got denied. I hate this place read more

Can't give negative stars unfortunately. We used to not have so many problems with this place. But...within the last year their service has literally gone to "Awesome" to "Why should we give a shit if you get your mail." I have lived here for FOUR YEARS!!!!!!!! My mail is now being delivered to whoevers box they decide to put it in. Hospital bills I never received. Credit Cards, paychecks, bills, gifts...that were put in another residents box. (All of my mail) I'm just glad the residents here are honest and turn my mail into the office instead of going on a spending spree! Extremely rude customer service. I am a regular customer who brings them business quite often. I also have a fulfillment center in which we send out a few thousand products per month. I am considering not using them anymore, I'd rather use a vendor with better customer service. Almost every person here is rude, it's unbelievable!! Where do they find these people. This review is regarding the delivery people that launch out of this post office. I live in the Del Webb part of Somersett. There used to be a level of service with the P.O. that one could rely on. Not this crew. One day my mail is delivered at 10:30am. The next day it is at 4:30pm. One recent day it actually arrived at 8:30pm!. And now I am receiving mail with notes written on it about being delivered to the wrong address by the people it was delivered to. I also receive others mail in my box once or twice every week. A total hot mess. The postmaster in charge of this post office should resign. They are failing miserably at their job.
