When I got there, there was already a guy yelling at the employees. I didn't understand and it was none of my business anyway. The woman behind the counter was very polite and patient with him. I appreciated her self control. I needed to send out two packages that didn't quite fit into the offered boxes. The woman helping me found a box that was ok to mail and bubble wrap so nothing would break. Can't do much about the cost of sending mail. read more

I have lived in Bordertown for 32 years. There are only 12 other neighbors on this private road. Yet time and time again our mail gets mixed up. This time my package was delivered but no key. A few months ago a key was left in box, got the package but was for neighbor down the road, the key for the box they got had my package. Besides this a package for me was too large too fit into any of the boxes and weighed about 50lbs was left outside the collection boxes. Took pictures to show manager. When I enter a complaint because the package wasn't insured I get fucked again. So tired of the morons they hire. I know I'm going to be out $25 on this one. Right now I'm trying to call, told the next available agent, phone rings then get cut off. 4 times, will stop by tomorrow but know it's a fuck you again. Another time tracking said package was delivered, no package, next day orange card saying it was delivered. Went to the office, asked the manager why would i get a package delivered notice day after? She told me "what do you want me to do, go back there and tell the carrier delivery person they're lying"? That one cost me $67. read more

Absolutely the worst service I have ever had to deal with. I cannot count the number of times they have lost items that I have sent out certified or overnight. Happened again this month - Sent my passport renewal out certified two weeks ago and no updates until the 25th when it finally said it was "in-transit" but running late. No one at the counter can assist. Try sending something overnight - and good luck if it gets there within 60 days. I've never had the issues I have experienced with the Reno USPS. It's worth the drive to CA just to make sure your stuff does not get lost. read more

Staff has always been kind and efficient when getting through their line of any size. The place is always clean and maintained. I've used this location multiple times since 2015 and have never had any issues. I've not used the Post Office boxes/stationary, my packages have been packed at home. But they seem to have a decent stock of items. I also haven't ever used a PO Box with this location, so I can't speak to those parts of the facility. read more

This update is regarding mail delivery, not a specific delivery person, but delivery in general. Like many who have turned to online shopping during this pandemic, I too, have my fair share of online shopping and with that comes delivery of items to my home. Sadly, while I receive most of my packages, I have had issues with items not being delivered due to a myriad of reasons ranging from: "animal interference" (not sure what that means, but we don't have any pets and our neighbors keep their dogs in their yards unless they're out walking them; "unable to access front door" (I do not have a fence in the front yard, just on the sides and back, and our SHORT driveway leads directly to our porch and front door, which is easily accessible!); "delivery attempt made, no one home" (I've received this excuse, WHILE I AM AT HOME WAITING FOR THE ITEM IN QUESTION! No knock on the door, no visual on my Ring doorbell, NOTHING); "delivery attempt made, undeliverable" (see notation immediately prior to his one); "delivery attempt made, but USPS couldn't complete delivery" (I got this gem after USPS delivered a smaller package to my door - either the driver forgot the other package or was too lazy to bring the other one). With the issues surrounding mail-in ballots, I do not have a bit of confidence in the USPS that services my area. None at all after the past couple of years of issues noted above. I plan to mark my ballot then drive it to wherever it needs to be dropped off. What is most disheartening is that I know there are USPS delivery people who do a phenomenal job (like the ones that service my office in downtown Reno), and for them (the good ones), I will buy stamps and continue to use the US Postal Service. I just won't rely on them to deliver items to me at home. lol read more

Rude - could care less attitude. Told me my package was returned to sender even though the note left on my door said I had two days left until it was to be returned. Guy at counter looked for it then came back and said he was only allowed to spend so much time with one customer and my time was up. Said I would have to get someone else to look for it and refered me to another window. That girls said she had a confirmation on her screen that the package was sent backk and never even looked. Said there wasn't even a point - then said she didnt care what the note said. then to beat all - I signed the slip left on my door and dropped it in my mail box - just for grins and it was delivered 2 days later. Our mail carrier is just truly the absolute worst. I don't write reviews very often, but I've lived here for 10 years and they have never ONCE taken outgoing mail out of our box. I have received dozens and dozens of pieces of our neighbor's mail, and I have to take it down to the box at the Bonanza or put it in my neighbor's boxes myself since the carrier won't pick it up. Who knows how many pieces of my own mail have disappeared this way? But the last straw, that drove me to write this review, was the certified letter FOR THE NEIGHBOR in our box. No request for a signature, apparently no attempt to check that it was the right address, just thrown in there. I would like to say I was surprised, but it's probably the 10th piece of mail I've received for this poor person who has the same house number as me. I'm also not surprised because I've walked past the carrier hot-boxing it at the top of the hill a few times. Didn't being a mail carrier used to be a good job, with great benefits? This is a much better post office than most I've been to. Come to find out this one is also open on Saturday until two. A few others but I looked into are not open on Saturdays just Monday through Friday. Which is pretty convenient for people who work Monday through Friday. Because it can be hard to get to a post office during the week. It's in a pretty decent neighborhood. The workers here pretty nice. however the downfall is that the floors are pretty dirty. They should keep maintenance up and keep it clean! read more

My fiancé recently moved home from Hawaii and mailed some packages to himself that were overlooked when packing the conex for shipping. One of those was full of the going away gifts he had received from coworkers and friends. One package arrived without issue. The other box arrived and it was not in the box he had packed. Instead the box had stickers on it about damage. Upon opening the package there was a piece.... yes a piece of the original box inside and what contents could be salvaged were also in place mastic bags with notices that the package and contents had been damaged. There wasn't much left intact. He inquired at the post office about making a clam and after a lengthy wait was met with a rude attitude by staff that refused to assist and told him to go online. Ok... we went online only to find out that because most of the items were gifts and we have no receipts to support the value we are SOL on making a claim against the insurance that was purchased. What is the point? The package was insured for $50 and was totally destroyed by the postal service. Admittedly with notices and plastic bags full of broken momentous, a sliced bag of kona coffee, and a shredded tote bag. What is the point in insuring a package? You pay for it but the post office has no responsibility, even when the make the package with admission of guilt. A very sad state for a government agency. read more

Back in December, about two week before Christmas the tracking number of a package of mine showed that it was at this USP. The package never arrived. I waited until after the new year because our weather was bad, they were backed up due to the holiday & I figured it just got misplaced & would be found. On January 17th I went to the office to inquire as to where the package was. Mind you, tracking showed that it had arrived at this particular office on December 12th. The answer they gave me was, and I'm not joking, "It never got to this office." Tracking shows it's at this office, how can that be if it never got here? "The system automatically moves the package to the next office if it doesn't move for a period of time." It was checked through the Vassar office on the 20th, the same day it was checked in here. "The system automatically moves the package along . . ." This conversation went on like this for about 5 minutes. When I asked to speak to a supervisor, they were all "busy" & couldn't talk to me. The last snarky response I got was to call the 1-800 number and file a claim. If you've ever been down that road you know how that goes. All this took about 27 minutes (I timed it). That wouldn't be too bad but I was only the third person in line. These people average helping one customer every 9 minutes. That's SLOW! This is the fourth package that this has happened to since November. They just disappear into the ether. Gone. Vanished. The difference this time is that on January 22 the package miraculously arrived in my mailbox! Funny how it never made it to the Sierra office from Vassar, but less than a week after I went and complained it miraculously appears! The gist of this review, these people suck. They are slow, they don't want to work, they are unhelpful & unfriendly. Until someone at that unholy place loses their job nothing is going to change. There needs to be a MAJOR shake-up at the Sierra office or it's only going to get worse. If I could leave a negative star review, I would. They don't deserve any positive accolades. None. Always had a great experience at this post office. It's right down the street from my home so it's very convenient especially if I'm going anywhere. Had awesome service every time. Like most post offices they have long lines at times, but it never takes longer than 30 minutes to get them down even during the holidays. I love love love my regular carrier. She has been my carrier for almost 20 years however the newer carriers don't seem to put as much effort into getting the mail to its proper box. I understand that my street (Reservoir) is often confused with (Artesian) this seems to happen because we both share the same numbered address. But come on, is it really so hard to do your job correctly? I and this neighbor on Artesian have to constantly hand walk the improperly delivered mail. I get it people no long have a sense of pride in their work. I just wish they would take the time to get to know the people on their route. That and stick around for more than a month or two. I don't know if the people at the post office review these post but I will try to have hope. read more

I don't think the USPS understands the growth we've had in the North Valleys. We need a full service location including the availability of USPS Kiosks. There are not enough employees here. This is my experience regarding the post office and a lost package, along with my carrier. I had to contact the Las Vegas regional office to finally get a response to my complaint about a lost package, my complaint to the Reno main post office never recieved a reply. I finally got a reply from this office after I wrote to the LV office. My dear friend in South Dakota sent me an express package for my birthday that I never got. It finally went back to her after three weeks, and it had been forwarded to Billings, MT, then back to her! I found that my street existed in Billings, and that my carrier was ultimately responsible for forwarding misaddressed packages, so I wanted to know what was going on. No one at the post office could answer that question. I suspected my carrier, who could be the dictionary poster child for "going postal" had forwarded this package and another previous package on purpose, but of course had no proof, and the post office would do nothing. In their "investigation," they didn't ask the carrier, but instead asked the carrier that fills in on his days off what happened to the errant package, as if she would know! I think they all tip toe around this carrier, sensing he has a hairline trigger. Anyway, when they finally addressed the issue, all they could say was "they had no idea" what had happened to my package. The post office and their investigation was a joke. They ignored my compliants until I had to take it to the state level, and then, they really did nothing to really solve, or delve into the problem. Send your packages with RedEx or UPS, at least you have some sort of really tracking ability. read more

This is a pretty decent post office. MUCH better than the Sun Valley post office. I stopped in today to ship a package. Thankfully they were open. I believe it said they were open till three o'clock on Saturdays, which is awesome for someone who can't get there during the week. They have boxes and envelopes just inside the entry that you can grab without having to wait in line. The floors seemed pretty dirty and looked like they needed swept and mopped. We use this post office very often, obviously, since it's our local post office. The office for 89506 used to be on Stead Blvd in a very run down building. They rebuilt, as well they should have, but clear over in Golden Valley. So now, trips to the post office are a massive undertaking. I have made frequent use of online postage payment so at the very most, all I have to do is drop off a package. Still, unless I'm headed into town or have business over in Golden Valley, that's a special trip. Many times, I plead with my husband to take a package with him on his way into town for work. It's your average post office, it can be hit or miss when it comes to dealing with the staff there. Sometimes they are efficient and pleasant. Other times they are slow and surly. Holiday lines can be murder so definitely plan ahead for those. I don't know if its a reflection on this office or not, but we have had issues in the past with our postal worker leaving a green slip in our mailbox (we have a community box down around the corner instead of mail boxes in front of our homes) saying no one was at home to deliver a package and we can stop in at the office to pick it up the next day. This has actually happened several times, and in all instances it was a package I was waiting on and was most definitely at home for. The postal worker simply did not want to drive over to our house and knock on the door to see if I was home. After complaining, we haven't had any issues since but boy. That was aggravating. And this last Christmas, I made a bonehead mistake and addressed a package for my parents in San Jose back to MY address. Stupid. Of course, we had to leave town for nearly a week and returned home a couple days before Christmas to find the package waiting. I immediately went online to the post office website and saw if there was any way I could have the package delivered the next day (Christmas Eve) if I dropped it at the post office right away. I saw that I could if I purchased overnight delivery. So I printed out the postage and was out the door in a flash to the post office. However, when I got there, the lady at the desk told me there was no way the package would be delivered before Tuesday. And more likely Wednesday. I was bewildered and told her the website said it could be delivered tomorrow. She asked when I saw that and I told her, "Fifteen minutes ago." Oh well, too bad so sad! All that money (at this point, I had paid for Priority shipping AND the exorbitant overnight shipping)! I was rather heartbroken about it, mostly because I wanted so badly for my package to be there for Christmas. My elderly parents were going to be alone this year for the holiday and I felt if I couldn't be there, at least my present would be. I was bitterly disappointed. Thankfully, the website was more accurate than the postal worker and my package WAS delivered on Christmas Eve, safe and sound. I'm very glad it arrived but very annoyed at that employee which caused me undue heartache. I wish she had had her facts straight rather than cause me such anguish. On the whole, though, it's a decent service and a decent post office. We use it because we have little other choice. If we want mail delivered, that is. There's always room for improvement, of course and I would love to see things get better. read more

I had to mail some packages off to my son in Kentucky. I had the packages boxed up but for some dumb reason, I didn't put the address on them. I was thinking that when they print the postage label, the address is pre-printed. the clerk could have made me leave to go write the address, then I would have ahd to stand in the long line again. She was kind enough to let me use her marker and write the address, then she covered it with clear tape so it would rub off. One thing I learned recently is that you can mail books at a greatly reduced rate. Just let them know it is media. I was always hesitant to send books because I assumed it would be really expensive due to the weight but now I know differently. this will be great when I want to send my son some of his books for his kids read more
