People always gripe about the post office, which explains why most of the post offices in town have less than a 3-star rating. Yes, there are wait times and yes, staffing levels can always be improved but the post office does deliver (pun absolutely intended) on their mission most of the time. If it didn't I very much doubt it would still be operating. This post office tends to be quieter than most and the wait times have never been too bad. The staff are competent and the P.O. boxes are cheaper than other parts of town due to the remoteness of the location, which works out great for me. Give the post office a break, people!! read more

I hate going into this post office. They are slow and they don't know how to put mail in the boxes. Right now, there are two flats wedged into my box so tightly that I can't get them out. They don't realize or don't care that the the lobby side of the boxes have a lip making them smaller than the back side. They are the reason that the US Post Office is my LAST choice when I have things shipped to me even if it costs more. read more

Staffing levels are always horrible. The employees are usually cordial and polite and I believe they work as fast as possible but unfortunately it just does not make up for the terrible staffing levels. There is always a huge line sometimes to the door. I dread pulling into the parking lot and seeing how many cars there are and just imagining how huge the line is. Absolutely useless. I have had 5 packages in the last 3 months that have not only been late, but the employees have been incompetent. 2 of the packages were being held due to the fact that "they would not fit in the parcel locker" for well over a month while I did not have a car. I scheduled re-deliveries on a Saturday so I would be home, no attempt was made to deliver the packages. I scheduled a re-delivery with special instructions to leave it with the main office of the complex, no attempt was made to deliver. I got a ride to the location, and the packages were rubber banded together in a bundle that would have easily fit inside my complex's parcel lockers. I am currently waiting on a package that had an estimated delivery of Wednesday 5/21. It finally went out for delivery yesterday, but no attempt was made to deliver. No notice was left, the status did not change until 10:08pm. The current status is "delivery status not updated" I made a trip to the post office (10 miles from work) to pick it up. After 20 minutes they could not find the package and could not give me an answer to what "delivery status not updated" means in their system or where the package is. The only info they could give me is what I had pulled up on my phone and brought to them. This entire location is a mess. Get a PO box in town or never use USPS again, do whatever it takes to avoid this location that cannot seem to get packages to their recipients without taking extra weeks. read more

The employees are so kind here one of them was so kind and gave me 10$ to replace my lost package plus their lines are pretty fast.

We are near the University Post Office, but since when we miss a USPS package delivery, we have to go to this post office to pick it up, I assume our mail is also delivered from here. Since about three weeks ago, our mail delivery time is all over the place.We used to have our mail before noon; now it is sometimes not delivered until 5 or 6 pm, and bills that I usually have received in the mail by now so I can pay them on the 1st of the month have still not arrived. We have twice in the past two weeks received mail for the address next door.. It makes me wonder if our mail carrier is just slacking off and delivering whatever he or she feels like carrying that day. read more

Something needs to be done to keep the employees inline! They treat every customer like they own you for having your own mail. I have seen so many conflicts with them and their customers at the counter it's not even funny. I have had a few close calls with them, and it is a very unsettling experience. Outbound mail carriers, no problems with them. Outbound carriers will go above and beyond to get your mail. I just don't know why the workers at the counters can't do the same? read more

The mail carrier left a notice saying that our packages did not fit in her vehicle so we would have to go the post office to pick them up (they were Prime from Amazon) I filled out the notice saying please leave them on the front porch, the mail carrier was nice enough to use a black sharpie to circle the portion about not fitting in the vehicle (nice of her I thought) just in case I had missed the part about her not doing her job of delivering the mail. I called the post office and talked to a supervisor, was told my packages would be delivered the next day, they never showed up. Called again and asked for the manager (Aisha) who told me that the she would look into it and call me back, never called back, I called again the next day and talked to the manager again, She kept interrupting me and was very abusive and ignorant towards me throughout the phone call, long story short it took 5 days to get the packages delivered. I have had nothing but bad experiences from this post office. The workers here are extremely lazy. They didn't even try to ship our package and made us pick it up because it "exceeded" the 70lbs weight limit. This was false the package only weighed 64 lbs and had a label on the box stating that. The blonde lady behind the desk was very rude when my girlfriend picked up the package. Then a male worker who helped my girlfriend load the box into the car made a sexual comment about her butt. And now I ordered a small package priority mail. (states 1-3 days shipping on their website) The package will not be delivered in the 1-3 days even though it sat in Reno distribution center for a full day. This company does not have their priorities straight. They hire unprofessional employees and can't deliver a package properly or in time I will be spending the money from here on out to use a different shipping company. read more

My only experience with this post office is very negative. I was expecting an eBay package that day. eBay tracking for the package said it was at the post office. I asked a woman at the counter if she could check tracking to see if my package was there or had been sent out for delivery already. The woman looked at me and rudely said "no you can look for it on your phone" which was super disrespectful. She continued by saying "next time just look it up online instead of wasting my time" with such a rude and disrespectful tone. I checked the tracking right before walking in the door just to make sure my package was there. I ask the lady to check tracking to see if it was there as well because I don't know how much do you weigh there is between post office updating tracking and eBay updating tracking. Immediately after walking out the door I just had to check the tracking again one more time. This time it said out for delivery. So because this woman wasn't willing to check the tracking to see if the package was at the facility or out for delivery my package was actually put on a truck while I was there meaning she prevented me from picking it up. The package was in my mailbox by the time I got home but I still can't believe how rude and disrespectful that woman was to me in the post office. It was her tone and inflection that came off as completely rude and disrespectful. I've never had any retail employees treat me like that before. I still can't believe this happened. read more

On Tuesday of May 02, 2017, my Large Priority Box, which I had mailed to myself from Oahu, Hawaii had arrived to my new residence in Reno NV. At first I was excited to see my box had arrived but it wasn't in the original box I had packed but in a box marked Ambitex ( powder free nitrile gloves). Also on this new box had the original label in my writing and a few other stickers. The other sticker's were clearly marked as follows, " Reconditioned at Jacksonville NDC 32303 & Damaged in handling at the United States Postal Service". All that, before opening the box. Once the box was opened all damaged contents were re packed in plastic bags with the United State Postal Service "We care" logo and some writing about how they sincerely regret the damage, etc etc Sincerely Your Postmaster. On May 04, 2017, a Thursday. I go to this branch of the government to make my claim for $50.00, insurance I have on my box. The woman or government service worker in a rude demeanor ask me what can she do to for me. All that is written above I explain and show to this service worker, she stated there is nothing she can do for me. Insult to injury she comments about making a claim on line. I look at her in shock and reply "what online" and gave her the receipt. She scans over the receipt and repeated something about online, at this moment, I wasn't hearing anything from this disrespectful woman behind the counter. So I regain my composure and asked this question and the reasoning for this Post. If the Postal Service damaged, repacked and left stickers on the box stating the damage was due to there error, was an insurance claim started on my behalf, with the acknowledgement of there error? The woman answered "NO". I replied why and further stated what is the purpose of selling insurance to consumers, if we have to jump thru hoops to initiate a claim for damage that's clearly the post office's fault. Silence came over this government service worker. So buyers beware of paying for insurance on all packages our Postal Service doesn't give an F on delivering our mail as we dropped it off. read more

My locked mail box was broken into 4/2/18. The door is bent open. Mail was left in it the next day. I put a hold on my mail for 4/4/18 to 4/14/18. I called the post office the next day to complain about the post person leaving mail in a broken box and to get it fixed. I was told a work order will be put in. 4/9/18 mail was again left in my box. I have a hold and the door is still broken. Both times my mail was written on "box not secure". Hello!! That is why I put a stop on the mail and requested the door to be fixed. I'm going to have to extend the hold as the box is still not fixed as of tonight 4/11/18. I tried fixing it myself by bending it back but now the lock isn't working good so I left it alone. It wasn't until then that I realized how cheap these secured mail boxes are. I really thought they were a heavy metal. Not something I could bend so easily. My other complaint with the mail person is they often leave my outgoing mail in the box. I make sure it is to the back of the box with the postage showing. I often get mail for an apt that doesn't exist. I write return to sender, this apt doesn't exist and the mail person doesn't take it half the time. I have to put pink sticky notes on it before they take it. I have never had this kind of mail service until I moved to this address. read more

My mail has gone to my neighbors house quite a few times. I was told Priority shipping 2 day will arrive Friday. I mailed a package wednesday. Well it's late Saturday afternoon and according to the 1800#..."The USPS does not guarantee any priority mail to be shipped on time unless it's overnight. Regular mail is much slower". Ugh....no. So basically I paid more money for priority shipping and it will arrive in CO at the same pace of regular delivery on a truck not by plane. My package is currently in southern California sitting in a warehouse apparently. The excuse....delays due to Hurricane Matthew. Hey people....Hurricane Matthew is no where near Nevada, California, or Colorado. Now I know why we always hear the USPS will not be in business soon. Zero stars.... read more

We have been dealing with this PO for 5 weeks trying to get our mailbox moved from one group box to another . No matter how many times we call and/or go in , dealing with the same person , we have to start over at the beginning . I can't believe people can not do their job and still keep a job . I just think it''s a huge joke on all of us and somewhere there is a hidden camera . There is no one to complain to and if they don't feel like helping you there isn't a damn thing you can do about it . How can this be ? This Post Office along with it's Manager, Aisha, are the worst ever. She has no concept of what Customer Service is and nobody with the Postal Department seems to care. My mail is always days late making it into my box. I go in with tracking info and am still told I don't have a package. The last time I called to speak with the manager, she implied I was racists and told she didn't want to talk to me.... Let me point out that she has never met me so that was a pretty strong accusation to make. It Doesn't surprise me one bit that people are finding ways to avoid using USPS. After 30 years, without any notice whatsoever, she decided to close my PO Box. She had one of her clerks tell me that they were returning all my mail to sender. I don't receive mail at my house so I can't even put in a forwarding address change. Of course, she decides to do this when all the Christmas packages are coming, refuses to talk to me in person and n nobody at any post office in the Reno/Sparks area is answering their phone. my mail key had broken inside the lock ( it was a matter of time since the mailbox was always very difficult to open ). i went down to the post office to turn it in and arranged to pick up my mail there while i am waiting for the new key. the lady told me that they would hold my mail and i will be able to pick it up the following Monday. today i went down to pick up my mail and it wasn't there. they never held my mail and just kept delivering it to a mailbox i cant open. i have something very important in that mail that i needed today, so i asked if the carrier can deliver it to my house or if the carrier can be notified and pull out my mail. she said that she would ask her manager and see if they can call the carrier if that carrier has a cell phone. she left the desk and went around back, a few minuets later she tells me that her manager isn't in at the moment. so now i have to wait till they even tell that carrier to pull my mail and for the carrier to actually do it which can take a few more days. read more
