My family hired them to do a clean-up recently. We were told they would be there early in the…read moremorning. We had to call multiple times and were consistently told that a person was on the way and only a few minutes out. By our third call we were ready to call another company to do the job instead. We eventually were told the guy they chose to clean our room had a late night and was unable to make it. A different cleaning crew arrived a little after our phone calls and 5 hours later than anticipated. The men that came to clean were very sweet but did a rushed job. We allowed the owner of the house to return and there were still bodily fluids all over the room with body tissue and other materials. It not only traumatized him but enraged him. I personally went in with another family member of the deceased and cleaned the room with bleach until my lungs burned and I couldn't see. I called and spoke to the manager, Ken, and he said another crew could come out and clean up the rest. The owner of the house did not want them to come back out (understandably). They cleaned the majority of the mess, but for family members to have to clean up after they pay an expensive cleaning crew to do it for them is unacceptable.

At that time we…read moredid a little research and found that we could take them to the Lockwood landfill at no charge. The contents included a queen bed mattress. We do not often need to get rid of a lot of stuff or big and bulky items. However, we have maintained a hide a bed couch mattress and memory foam topper in the bed of our truck because we have used it for camping in the past. It has been a few years since we have used it and are ready to graduate to something other than sleeping in the truck bed while camping. We needed the truck bed to move landscaping materials. So, we checked out our options for disposal of the mattress. We heard there was a transfer station in Stead which is much closer to our home than Lockwood. We needed to get rid of a hide a bed couch mattress we have used for years in our truck bed as a place to sleep when camping. My wife called waste management and confirmed they were open and off we went. The employees were friendly and helpful and let us know that they have to charge at this location for the mattress disposal but that Lockwood continues to take them for free. We did not have the time to drive out to Lockwood and therefore opted to pay the disposal fee of $44.56. While we didn't love paying to get rid of garbage we would encourage others to either pay the fees necessary or drive out to Lockwood to dispose of these items. Don't dump your unwanted items in the desert!!! Be responsible and do your part to keep our deserts free of trash and debris.
