The mail boxes in my neighborhood were left open by a delivery person. There was no one to call. None of the Sparks branches had a voicemail available and neither did the 866 number. This happened on a Sunday. I went to the post office on Monday and spoke to the manager who said he would call the Vista office but he cut me off while I was talking and did not offer any solutions for future issues. The boxes left open had keys in them for parcel lockers. I reported it in the Nextdoor app to alert neighbors. read more

The agents themselves are okay, it really depends on who you get. One person is super rude and I just despise getting him. The supervisor Paul is very dismissive. Here's my situation: I've had a package missing since December I've been trying to handle. Paul for some reason (idk if it's because I'm black or because I have a Durag on) but decides I am lying pretty much about everything. I've supplied tracking numbers and emails only for him to say he doesn't know how to track anything with a claim id. I thought it was insane to just dismiss me and expect me to be okay with a $400 package being MIA. The insurance is only $200 so if I can recoup SOMETHING, that would be great. Because the tracking number doesn't show a package on his end he says the merchant never sent it. I am showing him valid proof of emails between us, emails that it was delivered and all he's like oh well. I provide voicemail that HIS employee left for me... he hit me with oh well again. Like huh? I had to ASK if the person who called me could call me back since they NEVER answer the phone. Why leave a vm to call back if no matter the time of day, no one answers? read more

The employees here are the most incompetent I've come across. They probably stole my IRS check. The informed delivery sent a picture of it to my email. EVERYTHING ELSE in that photo was delivered except the check. I actually saw the mail man outside, asked for it and he didn't have it in his truck nor was it delivered later that day. I call in the day of and speak with some manager and he checks the address for me and tells me just to wait because it's Informed Delivery is not guaranteed to be on that date. Ok fine. I wait. A week. Call back. And Tom answers. Cuts me off through your my whole explanation and tells me to figure it out thru the app. Doesn't take my name, address or even attempt at trying ANYTHING. Ok fine. I try in the app. And of course it doesn't go back that far. Tom sees me calling and ignores my calls. Finally answers and cuts me off and is hella rude. Tells me figure it out with the IRS, it's not their job and that informed delivery is not accurate, even though it sends an actual picture of the mail with my name and address on it.... Ok. I hang up. And call back just to get this guys name. He gives me his name and i hang up. Tom decides to call me back for whatever reason. I pass the phone to my man cause I'm done talking to Tom and don't know why he's calling. So he's threatening my boyfriend to call the cops and blah blah blah. Saying if i was to come up there and yell at him, he would call the cops. Why so scared Tom? You're threatening me about something that isn't even happening. I'm still at home in bed. Tom why did you call my phone to threaten me? Tom call the cops on your employees that are stealing checks. Cause they definitely didn't take my spectrum bill. What a joke this entire post office is. I know nothing will happen to him and my tax dollars will continue to pay his salary. But i will definitely, definitely get this interaction to where ever it has to go. read more

The worst service I've ever received from any company post office or other. I have multiple instances where mail sent has been received by me MONTHS later including time sensitive material sent locally (for example my condos voting documents sent December 2021 and not received until March 2022). In addition, I lost my keys and they were found by our mail carrier. Instead of returning them properly she locked them in my mail box with the mail key on them and didn't even inform me of where they were. I use my car for work and missed 3 days of work and had to order a new computer key at a total cost/loss of over $1200! Upon filing a complaint with the USPS I was contacted by Thomas Tyree who is the most incompetent and rude supervisor/manager I've ever met and who should be fired. He informed me the post office "doesn't have time" to simply leave a note on my door or contact me regarding my property they chose to lock up without my knowledge. He told me I should check my mail daily which seems a bit impossible WHEN THEY LOCKED UP MY MAIL KEY IN MY MAILBOX! When I asked him how to escalate the matter within the USPS he HUNG UP ON ME. I have filed 4-5 additional complaints and each time they have been closed with zero contact. One time I received a voicemail from someone who said she would call back and never did. Some employees here know what they're doing... Some of them don't. Customer service varies too; and don't even bother with the bosses. I had about a dozen padded envelopes to send out to some folks. I took one of these envelopes, (packed, addressed, totally 100% ready to go), in to find out how much shipping would be. A young man took a look and cheerfully told me it would be $1.80. I quoted this price to the folks I was mailing to. When I went back in to mail the envelopes I was helped by a different man. Who proceeded to charge me $4-$5 per envelope. When I told him I'd earlier been told by one of his coworkers they would only be $1.80 each, he told me they were packages, and had to be shipped accordingly. I told him this was frustrating since I'd had the people I was mailing only send me $1.80, and now I was going to be out $2+ dollars on each envelope. At that the guy actually laughed, like I'd told him some kind of joke or funny story. I told him it wasn't funny, and at least he looked a little abashed, and didn't seem to have anything else to say. I reported my experience to the post office, and was later contacted by someone in an in-charge position at this location, (a manager? I don't remember now what was/if they gave me their title), this gentleman told me he didn't believe me about the poor customer service of the second employee I dealt with, (to which what can you say? Sorry, but I was there and you weren't; also why would I make that up?). He also appeared to be solely interested in talking to me to try to determine who the first employee I'd dealt with was so he could "correct" him. In other words, he didn't care about the negative experience I'd had, (no real apology), didn't believe that the second employee had been anything but 100% courteous, (stated "I don't believe that"), and didn't even question whether the first employee could actually have been the correct one. Just automatically went with the rude employee who charged the higher price. I sure hope he never identified and "corrected" the first employee. I'd offered that feedback in the hope they could improve accuracy and customer service; but it sounded more like sharing the experience just launched a witch hunt for the first, and actually friendly, employee... The friendly and *correct* employee! You see, the story didn't actually end there. I had one delayed envelope (100% identical to all the others!) that I ended up sending out later. I went to a different post office branch with this one, (Tahoe City actually). Another gentleman helped me there. He asked if I wanted to send it just regular mail, and I said I didn't really know how it needed to go, because another post office had quoted me $1.80 on identical envelopes one day, but then charged me $4-5 as packages another day. The guy gave me a perplexed look, ("what kinda post office are you going to?" the look seemed to say), and then proceeded to give my envelope the 10th degree! He pinched, pressed, and squashed it. Twisted, flexed, and bent it. For the coup de grace he proceeded to roll the envelope over the edge of the counter. Finally he gave me a shrug and a sympathetic look, and said "That'll be $1.80. Clearly. No one should be mistaking this for a package." So, in the end, the first guy had been the right one. Which actually just made me feel even worse, as I really hope the Sparks manager never figured out and punished the clerk who was actually friendly and polite, and *knew what he was doing, and charged correctly!* If you're just dropping mail in the slot or using a PO box at this location you should be in the clear.... But if you're mailing stuff at the counter just be aware that not only the customer service varies, but employee knowledge does as well -and your wallet may well end up a victim in the case of the latter!l read more

I've been to this post office three times during the busy Christmas season and each time, despite the long lines, service was fast and efficient. They always had as many employees behind the counter as possible and customers were assisted quickly and the employees were friendly. I can't for the life of me understand the negative reviews on here- even during the most stressful time of year, this post office seemed to do a great job! I went back today (a couple days after Christmas) to get a passport renewed and Vilma helped us. She was super friendly and knowledgeable and got us in and out of there in less than 15 minutes and that was even WITH us having a bit of a paperwork issue (our fault.) This isn't the closest post office to my house, but this is the one I'll go to from now on. They are really on it. read more

We all need mail...My mail gets delivered to my delivered from this location. I think it's out of the way to receive mail from this location and have three other post offices very close to my house. The facility is very outdated and there staff I spoke with when coming didn't seem friendly at all. I have had such a horrible experience with my mail lady and had tried for many years for this place to listen. Still no action. So it began a few years ago when my kiddos and I were learning about driveway safety. My mail lady would haul ass down the street not caring about hitting anyone. She would throw huge fits when people Parked on the curb (even though the mail box has a 36 foot clearance for her) she would pull up to the cars and leave stickers on the window saying they are blocking the mailbox. Not to mention if I get large packages she doesn't even bother walking up to the house to put them in my doorstep. She tosses them which damages my product. Sometimes when getting my mail, it looked like someone would crumble it up into a ball and let it lay out on the box. Well this lady didn't stop here. She had such a mouth on her. Not professional at all. When outside washing my car my kiddo was helping me she would stop right unground of my driveway and tell me how I should take care of my child. That he was in the street. First of all he was no where near the street especially with this crazy lady on the street. Then another incident of me sending a letter out. I had only placed one stamp when I guess it needed two. I walked to the window and noticed she pulled up. She had this angry look on her face and wrote wrong postage large on my letter put it in my mail box slammed it shut and screamed DUMB ASS very loudly that I could hear her inside my house. I walked out and she took off skipped the neighbors house. This leads me to the facility. I would call and speak to a manger. Nothing was ever done about any of these incidents. They told me to get a PO box and that will solve my problem. I honestly don't want to have to pay for a PO Box because my mail lady is completely ruthless person. And the main reason why I needed to go here is because they gave me a slip to pick up my packages instead of leaving them like they normally do. So if you can avoid this facility all all cost, I highly recommend it. read more

I come to this post office frequently, and by far, the best service I have received has come from Nancy. She went above and beyond what any other post office employee has ever done for me. I was expecting a package before Christmas, and due to my the office at my apartments being closed, my package kept getting delayed. She personally wanted to take care of me, and wanted to make sure I received my package, she got in contact with the carrier, and got my package to me in less than a half hour, delivered to my door. She then called me the next day, first thing in the morning to really make sure I had received my package. This office is really lucky to have such an extraordinaire employee like Nancy. read more

I do not like self serve check outs like we are starting to see everywhere. There is no more service in customer service. However, all I needed to know was did I put enough postage on my card and there was probably thirty people in line. Thank goodness the post office has a self service machine.!!!! Answer a couple of questions, size of parcel, is there liquid or animal parts in it, (yup animal parts), does it have an irregular shape........and please place parcel on scale and Bazinga 90 seconds and I'm out of there. So this little post office has been here since I can remember. It's a little understaffed in my opinion, but I can understand that with the rise of technology. The employees are relatively friendly and try and help you in the fastest way possible. I think that the building could use a make over, but that's just me. All the workers here are nice. I especially like William. On November 12th I went to this post office. I had 2 cards that required extra postage. I was sending a "Get Well" card and a "Birthday" card to exactly the same person at the exact address. The total cost was 1.95. The "Get Well" card arrived 3 days later as promised. The "Birthday" card NEVER arrived. Approximately 3 weeks later I returned to this post office and waited in a long line of people sending off Holiday packages. Alas, I was waited on by William, the man that sent off my cards originally. I told him about the missing mail. He said do you have a "tracking" number. I said oh, should I have had a "Birthday" card tracked? He seemed amused, I certainly was. He said " millions" of letters get sent each day. Do you want to fill out a complaint form. I really did want to but in the Spirit of the Holidays I declined. I inquired about the infamous "Dead or Lost" letter room that we have all heard of. There is none. I went home dejected. I had paid for that card and of course extra postage. What an unhappy result. read more

I have a po box at this location and have had it for over ten years. This location is the absolute worst when it comes to customer service. The employees do not care about customer service what so ever. I have waited numerous times over the years in long lines because they always have one person working the window, but there is plenty of people shooting the shit in the back all the time. I have been trying to call this location as some idiot put a lock on my box. Funny considering I paid my box fees over three weeks ago. Anyway the phone rings and rings and now some jerk is picking up the phone and hanging up on me. So- I will be heading down there shortly to get my box unlocked, and to do a change of address for my mail to be delivered to my home. This place is the worst. Dave the manager is a jerk. Puts phone down when you are talking to him and is very rude and does no try to help anyone. And dont get me started on Lynn the post master. She talks over you, lies to get you off the phone and does not do what she says she is going to do. The post offices in the sparks area need a new post master and managers. I have never in my life been treated this bad at a post office. I will be going all the way to the top to have the post office replace these bad apples. Even their own employees are saying that they dont care. The post master never even goes to any other locations. Just stays in the vista location. Its bad when your own employees want you gone. Out of all the post offices in the area, I actually really like this one most. It's smaller, but I feel like the employees are so much more personal. They are always helpful and cheerful. They help me ship things for the cheapest I can since I know nothing about all the boxes and envelopes haha. The lines can get long, but generally the employees work swiftly, and you won't sit there for too long. They have a kiosk that you can self serve too which is cool of you know what you are doing and don't want to be in line. Overall I keep coming back for the super customer service! read more

I drove 45 minutes to get here to use their self shipping system and supplies. They had NO supplies whatsoever and they aren't open on the weekends. I just wrote a horrible review of the Passport office at the UPSO on Vassar, but want to take the time to give kudos where due. Because of the bureaucratic nonsense encountered at Vassar, we headed over to the UPSO on 4th Street in Sparks. Janet, at the passport counter, was friendly, helpful, knowledgeable and a stellar example of great customer service. Thank you Janet!
