I'm giving this post office 5 stars because every time I've needed to go in- I get what I needed and I'm out usually quick. The workers are as nice as you are! Ha! Be nice to the postal workers people!

Well salted sidewalk in snow

I've always had good service here. Sometimes long lines, but I appreciate the full services available and always friendly faces. Today I got turned out of the Plumb Ln. branch before 11 so they could close at 11 for a lunch that doesn't appear anywhere online. So I came here and had a pleasant experience. I'll just come here from now on.

Once again usps "delivered" a package that has not been delivered.

So I contacted usps via the 1800 number this morning, only 38 minutes on hold! The woman I spoke with started a claim because as far as they know from their end, the package was delivered. This afternoon (Tuesday) the supervisor for my carrier contacted me and informed me that my package was indeed delivered on sunday, but one street over from mine. Now it is up to the carrier to contact the resident and try to retrieve my package so it can be delivered to me. He said if I didnt receive my package by today he would be in touch... surprise surprise, no package. I asked the supervisor why this has happened for the second time within a month, and his response was "I dont know why this is happening so often, I've worked this route myself and it's not that difficult!" He then mentioned that they will start to include a note on the packages for the carrier so he can be more careful to whom he is delivering the packages to. Call me crazy but I thought that's what the address label was for... I'm losing my faith in usps. I guess it's worth it to pay more at ups or FedEx to have my packages shipped and delivered to the places they are intended!

**One of the most unresponsive and indifferent USPS locations I've ever dealt with.**…read more This Reno USPS branch has shown a blatant disregard for its customers and basic responsibilities. Despite having a mail hold in place, they continued to deliver mail while we were out of town, leaving our mailbox overflowing and creating a significant security risk. We even left clear signs inside our mailbox about the mail hold, but they ignored them and crammed mail right past the notice. Adding to the frustration, our Change of Address (COA) has been handled just as poorly. We've used USPS forwarding services in the past without issue, but this location has turned a simple process into an expensive, exhausting ordeal. The staff is unhelpful and, frankly, irreverent. Communication is nonexistent, and any effort to resolve issues is met with complete apathy. Customer service and professionalism are clearly not priorities here. If you value your time, money, and sanity, avoid this location at all costs. Don't get me wrong, all USPS locations are pretty bad but their incompetence and blatant disregard for basic mail-handling standards at this location are really next level. I'll admit: I don't often find myself aligning with the Trump administration, but if there's one area of overlap, it's the tiny sliver of my views that says privatizing USPS might not be such a bad idea. If you've had a terrible experience with this location, I highly recommend submitting a formal complaint to the USPS Office of Inspector General. You can do so at the following link: https://hotlineform.uspsoig.gov/en-US/Hotline/?stepid=cb212db7-5dd2-ee11-9079-001dd80bee4b

Nooooo! It is a funny this having a local "Main Post Office." I was born in Los Angeles, grew up…read morewith post office only mail service in Incline Village (no local mail routes), and went to college and high school in San Diego. So, I have seen having to rely on a post office for ALL mail services, long lines on the last tax night, supersized mail hubs, and everything in between. Mail and many postal services have taken a passenger/back seat to e-mail, on-line bill pay & billing, and services like FedEx and UPS with their own local stores. The USPS it is still an important part of getting mail, ballots, bills, magazines, ads, benefits and packages. Trusted locals for sorting and post marking is still needed for aging Americans along with the sense security that it provides. Locally the USPS carriers are very competent at home delivery. The post offices are clean, productive and mostly friendly. Quite a bit of the speed, local knowledge, and professionalism goes away if "Operations" are moved to Sacramento or beyond. There is a reason our Amtrac office is not even a though on most peoples mind in Reno. We are the forgotten train stop between actual Train Stations between Sacramento and Denver. Not to mention that there are 100's of great paying local jobs that disappear when they "streamline" operations. I understand the business model needs to change to keep the service alive but maybe we could cut back in areas of the country that haven't doubled in population every 10 years.

The employee working has helped me a few different times I have been in and I dread coming here because of the lack of care and positive experience. I gave her my fragile package and she just threw it in the bin carelessly. However inside this store it is organized and easy to mail out packages quickly.

I am a P.O. Box customer at this post office and have been for quite a few years. My most recent…read morerenewal was in September 2019, and a box 3"x5.5" was only $118 for 12 months. The price has gone up slightly over the years, but nothing too crazy. Some people may scoff at having a P.O. Box, but there are so many positive things about having one. 1) No one ever steals my mail or packages, 2) I never have to worry about changing my address if I move, and 3) It is convenient for travel. I chose this specific location for my P.O. Box because I was a student when I first got it. However, it is still very convenient even after graduating. I only visit the office a few times a year--typically to pick up an oversized package or mail Christmas cards. I know many people would rank the post office right up there with the DMV as "places I'd rather not be." I actually enjoy when I have business at the post office. Probably because all of my post office experiences at this location have been easy! The employees are always pleasant and helpful--even when I have dumb questions like "are cuter stamps available." Haha!

Not sure why my pictures did NOT link, so now I have to write an update…read more.. Duplicate review. Quality/Quantity - Keep in mind I am grading on a curve... The high rating is due to the comparison with all the other poorly managed Post Offices... See other reviews; San Leandro and Alameda (4 stars). The lobby is open 24/7, thank you. I made the mistake on the 1/20/25 (a holiday) of trying to drop off letters (5 inches worth; I know, due to my travels, I have not checked my mail for a long time) and a package in 3 SL post offices. The employees here are the second best (again compared to SL and Alameda). Far from perfect, but at least the majority of the employees here get the job done. Do not expect friendly or efficient service from any USPS. Atmosphere - 5 stars. Decent size lobby, 24/7 for both letters and mail drop off. No homeless, unlike in CA. Limited parking, another reason I try to come during off peak hours or closed hours. One way in and out. Well it is supposed to be... Convenient to my favorite brewery, Schussboom. Service - 2, barely good enough. They have lost two packages since moving to Reno... The insurance hassle is NOT worth it. Price - N/A, see their websites. Owner Comment - Congrats on your success since 1971 (formed in Washington DC) with your $80B in revenue. Much controversy about your profitability or lack of it. This is an "independent" agency of the executive branch of our US government. You have an amazing history dating back to 1775, but I will not go into that here.
