"Batch" delivery to our PO Boxes with days of empty boxes (never happened before in 20 years) then crammed boxes. Yellow slips with a "sorry we don't see anything" after waiting in line, yellow slips for packages when 50% of the keyed boxes are empty. Waiting on the postmaster to finish talking to some person about non postal related stuff for minutes and told , I'll be with you in a minute, standing there with my yellow slips with a line forming behind me. The workers working hard filling P.O. Boxes and sorting mail while their boss stands there like a statue not offering direction or helping. It's clear to this family that the problem is with the boss here. I could ignore the rudeness and disrespect if he performed even at a barely acceptable level, We have received expensive orders over a month after tracking showed them arrived and missed the date to return them. Just crazy. Never in six decades have I seen such utter incompetence.

I frequently visit the post office to check my PO Box and occasionally when things need to get sent out. It can get pretty crowded between 11-1. Service? Little town feel. Same friendly faces since my first day at NASA over 4 years ago. They are only open from 10-3 and sometimes closed for an hour during lunch (however I've only seen this happen twice). Parking? With all the one way streets, you typically have to park behind the post office or in the lot across the street. A little more exercise doesn't hurt.

It didn't help that all other customers, including me, were people of color and this woman was Caucasian. I also overheard this exchange between a different customer service rep and a customer next to me: "Where is this package going?" "To China." "Of COURSE it is." It's a sunny 77 degrees on a Saturday afternoon and you're supposed to be providing customer service. This simple trip to the post office left me with such a negative feeling because of the interactions I experienced in 15 minutes--condescending, aggressive, with racial undertones. Not fun.

I've stopped by this place a couple times last month to send out both Christmas cards and Passport renewal. Both times, it was quite quick. I may have waited once as there was one person in front of me, but after they resolved their sending, it was in and out for me in terms of payment. Both times there's a lovely lady who helped me out with a smile. Parking can be a hassle as there's only a small lot, and be careful because folks don't look when they come out of their spots. I've gotten hit almost a couple times as people quickly pulled out of their spots. But I think that's just something to be cautious of when in a parking lot. Otherwise, nice to have a small spot to help with my postal needs.
