Can I give a negative star? I wish I saw this review BEFORE I ordered! i would have begged for the company I ordered from not to have send to Bell Gardens at all cost. These reviews blew my mind because they could all have been my experience. I placed an order on the 12th. By the 18th it landed in Bell Garden. I thought "Great it's close by so I should get by today or the latest Monday" I checked Monday the 21st only to see it made it's way to freaking Michigan!!! I checked the NEXT day and it ended up even further Pennsylvania! Seriously?!?!?!?! Calling I got nothing!!! What makes it worse is I'm leaving the country this Tuesday for 3 months so I'm pretty sure I won't even get this freaking package before I leave! I've NEVER been so ticked off. I hate writing negative reviews, but this place is just asking for it. I order something on line and it was shipped via USPS with a tracking number. All was moving smoothly like a well oiled machine until it arrived to this facility and allegedly departed on April 19th to its next destination. Several days (04/23/14) later no signs of my package nor there has been any updates on the status regarding new location. It seems that this facility is known to have issues, due to the nature of the facility there is not much that we can do but to spread the word and make sure to keep track of your package. If your package has the misfortune of landing here, make sure to give them a call and complain if you see an abnormal delay. read more

AVOID THIS PLACE!!! Wish I could give this location ZERO stars!!! Customer service is HORRIBLE, but that's the least of my concerns. The worst part about this place is the DISCRIMINATORY attitude they hold against Spanish speaking customers. My mother (Spanish speaker) went in to ask why our mail wasn't being delivered and the employee completely disregarded her concerns and told her there's nothing they can do. HOWEVER, when I went in and brought this up to their attention they completely denied discriminating against her. I don't know if they've realized this, but they are serving a predominantly Latinx community. Completely absurd. read more

Congratulations, Bell Gardens Sorting Facility, for another package mishandled under your care. Now I can count myself among the hordes of dissatisfied customers who have had a package lost or mis-directed by this pathetic USPS branch. I know it's the holidays. I understand that millions of packages are in transit right now. I genuinely feel for those who work for USPS, UPS, FedEx, DHS, or any other delivery organization right now. It must be a nightmare. That being said, it's not that hard to look at a package, read an address within Los Angeles city limits, and put that package onto a truck for distribution in the city of Los Angeles. No, instead, this facility put my package onto an overnight freight flight to Greensboro, North Carolina. And that's where my package now resides. Of course, the number that is listed for this facility, 562-806-1625, just rings until the phone service provider hangs you up. And then when you call back, the line is busy with the next irate customer waiting to have the phone company eventually hang up the line on them. I see other numbers listed, but nothing works with those either. Therefore, I am on hold with the general USPS number with an estimated hold time of over an hour to see if I can get the package shipped back to Los Angeles before it disappears off the radar forever. Whether I ever get the package or not, I am standing behind a solid 1-star rating for this facility. read more

Live in San Diego. Here is what happened to my package. Package was in San Diego on June 25th. It got routed to Bell Gardens which they then sent to North Carolina back to Bell Gardens then on to Richmond, CA... Now we wait. No wonder USPS isn't getting as much business as they used to. What a waste on their end. Made sure to call the USPS 800 number (1-800-275-8777) and got a case number. Agent verified that all of the information in their system was correct and that I should receive a call by end of the next business day. To be continued. Whenever I purchase something on eBay or Amazon, I always cringe when I read that my package has arrived at this location! Usually, I get some form of delay whenever a package I'm waiting for arrives there! Although, I never had a package go missing from this location yet (THANK GOODNESS), I always fear that my package will get lost or stolen here on account of how long I usually have to wait before the package leaves this facility and on the fact that I'm not alone on this either. There was one incident where I had a package with a rip on the box. Not sure who made that rip, but I have NEVER received packages with rips on it before and the ripped package went through Bell Gardens. read more

Months later, after multiple complaints and after filing a report on the contents of my box, I received in the mail a perfectly removed address label from my package that some employee there had taken great care to remove and tape over. There is no possible way that the address label just magically came off like that. This is the scam they run, as stated by many other reviews here. They tell you your address label came off and that your box is now just floating around lost. Then, I'm assuming, the post office employees just dump all of your belongings into a pile and have a free for all rummaging through it, taking what they want and dumping the rest. This place needs to be sued. There should be a class action lawsuit and if anyone wants to take charge and make that happen I will gladly join. Obviously I'm not the only one that has a problem with packages being stolen out of this Bell Gardens post office! I shipped a package on December 16 from Dallas Texas to Whittier California, should have arrived on Thursday, December 23 but never did. I tracked it online and it sat in Bell Gardens for five/six days!!!! Finally it was delivered Tuesday December 27th..after Christmas.. When my mother opened the box all the gifts were ALL stolen and replaced with a bag of oats! Who in the hell does that?! On top of that somebody at the post office slapped another label on top of mine saying that it shipped from Vegas!!! This makes no sense, definitely something going on at that post office, investigation needed!!!! Why don't rating systems allow you to give NO stars. This place actually deserves NEGATIVE STARS. I NEVER review anything, it has to be a pretty bad situation for me to take the time to complain about something. This the 6th shipment I've had to go through this facility. Each time it says it departed the location. But 7 plus days later, I still don't have the item. Here's my latest shipment: Jul 31, 2014 1:45am BELL GARDENS, CA 90201, US Departed USPS Facility Jul 30, 2014 4:15am BELL GARDENS, CA 90201, US Arrived at USPS Facility Jul 29, 2014 3:07am SAN ANTONIO, TX 78284, US Departed USPS Facility Jul 28, 2014 10:04pm SAN ANTONIO, TX 78284, US Arrived at USPS Origin Facility This facility exactly 23.87 miles away from the delivery location. I could walk there and back in less than 8 days. Actually i could probably wheelchair myself there and back in less than 8 days. What the F takes so long and why do have half of my shipments get "lost" going through here? Are the people really that incompetent?? Another complaint I have is, USPS website won't let me file a lost claim until it's 15 days AFTER the shipping date. Well, the damn thing is only 23.87 miles away and departed 8 days ago. I would venture to say my package is LOST! OMFG, it is so frustrating! read more

At the suggestion of a google reviewer, I'm posting a link where you can look up your congressional representative by zip code here: http://www.house.gov/htbin/findrep Or you can write to the rep of the Bell Gardens area here: http://roybal-allard.house.gov/contact/ Leave your review, then go ahead and write a letter about this notorious facility. And here's my experience: I mailed several boxes of books, at least one of which was routed through the Bell Gardens sorting facility and sent "in transit to destination." 11 days later I had not received my box, so I google searched the Bell Gardens sorting facility and saw all these reviews... and started to worry. I called the Bell Gardens facility who told me, in a not very friendly tone, to call the USPS 800 number. I did this, and a representative helped me file a "case" about my package. She said that the Bell Gardens people should call me in 2-3 business days, but if they didn't, I should call back. She said this as if there was a distinct possibility that the Bell Gardens post office might not call me. A few days later my parents (who sent the box) received a notice in the mail with the shipping labels and postage label of my box attached. Apparently these labels had "come off" and my box was now floating around, with no labels, lost somewhere. The notice included a form in case my parents wanted to file an investigation. Well of course they will file an investigation, but... really? I mailed three boxes at the same time, and all had a rather excessive amount of tape wrapped around box and label alike. The labels fell off of this box? I've seen other reviews, here and elsewhere online about other people whose labels were torn from their boxes, and I can't help but suspect foul play. I guess I will never see that box again. It contained books from my much-beloved library, but... what can I do? I just sent a message to my local district representative, not just because of my experience, but because of the overwhelming number of complaints all over the internet, but who knows if that will even make a difference. read more

I ordered a rather expensive gift a month before Christmas to ensure it would arrive on time. I had a delivery date of December 21st. That is, until it arrived at this facility. My package was stuck here for almost a week, and I obviously didn't get it by the estimated date. The website said it was "in transit," but how can it be in transit for this long from one facility? No, it's ether lost or forgotten somewhere. Don't bother trying to contact this facility. If you're lucky enough not to get a busy tone, they'll let their phone ring long enough to have your provider hang up automatically. Zero customer service. Worst post office ever! This postal service has the rudest and shadiest emplyees ever. They claimed to have delivered my Armani package yet I never recevied it. I called and left my name and contact information for the supervisor. The supervisor named Hortencia never, I mean never called me back. I tried again the day after and they would not pick up my calls. What they did was pick up the phone and immediately hang up on me. They picked up and hung up on me 3 times. Magically, my package appeared a couple days after I reported the package with Armani and Armani began doing their investigations. However, my box appeared to be open. Someone in the office opened my box and recealed it with a different tape. This place needs to be shut down. I cannot belive it's a USPS office. This place needs to be investigated. This review is based on the customer service I received not in regards to any personal shipping issues. I was supposed to receive two packages about three weeks ago. Unfortunately my sister in law threw away a notice they left so I had to somehow track my packages based on some emails and tracking info from UPS since UPS transferred my packages to USPS. Anyhow, I had scheduled a re-delivery online about a weeks and a half ago and was waiting for my packages to arrive at work... no delivery. I submitted a complaint and received a call from the Vernon office stating that the packages were not at their location and that the system showed they were in Bell Gardens (which I did see online as well. The packages had been in Bell Gardens for about two weeks). Anyhow, I decided to go in personally to see if the packages were still there which they were. The employee was very friendly and extremely helpful. Not sure why my re-deliveries weren't processed, I'm just glad they still had my packages. read more

My family sent me a package from Ohio. It left Ohio on 1/12 and arrived here on 1/17. Several days later, it mysteriously appeared in Chicago. After a couple weeks, I finally got the package with a giant hole in the bottom, wrapped in Saran wrap. There was a bottle of lotion that was totally destroyed and covered every single item in the package, completely ruining everything. What happened? There was also a bottle of Chef Prudhomme's Herbal Pizza & Pasta Magic. It was sealed on the outside and safety sealed on the inside when sent. When I received it, the exterior seal was broken, there was no interior seal and about 1/8th of it was gone. Some brainless asshole at USPS thought this was marijuana, so they decided to totally waste tax dollars by rerouting it elsewhere, so it could be torn open with no regard for the contents, on the off chance a bottle of spices turned out to be a few ounces of marijuana. Thanks, USPS. Now all of my books smell like a bottle of shitty lotion I never asked for at Christmas time and my eyes burn when I read. read more

This is my first Yelp! review I have written. My experience with a package that passed through this facility has to be noted. I had purchased some roof rack bars for my car from a seller in Los Angeles. He shipped it on a Saturday, and told me that it should take about a week to get to me, as it was shipped via USPS. According to the tracking history, it was shipped on 12 March 2016. There weren't any updates for a few days, but I didn't think much of it at first (it was a non-priority mail shipment, so I figured tracking was sporadic). 5 days later, I finally get an update, with tracking saying it had arrived at BELL GARDENS, CA 90201 on 17 March. No alarms were going off in my head yet, though I did wonder why it took 5 days to get an update on the package status. A week passed, and the tracking history did not update. That is when I did some Google searching and found out about the horror show that is the USPS Bell Gardens sorting facility. I read countless 1 star Yelp reviews, and started to worry about the fate of my roof rack bars. No way someone would steal my roof rack bars, I thought. They are too big to simply walk out of the facility! I tried putting in a claim into USPS, but their online claim submission form kept reporting an error. I tried contacting the seller, but wasn't able to get word from him. The package also wasn't insured. I was seriously thinking the $170 I had spent on my roof rack bars had just gone down the toilet. Them, miraculously, I got an update on the tracking status. Despite never getting an update stating my package had left the Bell Gardens facility, my package had somehow arrived at a USPS facility in my state (Maryland) on the 24th. I thanked my lucky stars, and expected my package to be delivered in the next couple of days. The next day, my package had been delivered to my front doorstep. I was horrified at what I found though: Despite the Bell Gardens facility's best attempts at destroying my package, somehow nothing was broken or missing, and my roof rack bars had survived and I was successfully able to mount them to my car. I don't believe in God, but having my roof rack bars arrive unscathed despite a trip through the USPS Bell Gardens facility had to be an act of God. No other way to explain how it arrived to me in working condition. read more

Because I'm home when I get the 'you weren't home to receive the package' message. What's worst is I get the notice paper that the package will be ready for pickup at a certain time. I go, wait in line, get there, and am told the package is not there because the mailman is going to try to deliver it again. Really? Plus the website doesn't work to process a redelivery. The sorting facility here is not the most efficient or well organized USPS facility, as evident with all of the 1-star reviews here. Generally speaking, when receiving 2-day delivery packages that are routed elsewhere, I receive them within those two days. Packages that go through Bell Gardens, however, seem to get delayed there. While I haven't had the displeasure of getting packages entirely lost, damaged, or outright stolen here, my rating is based on delivery delays that seem to always coincide with routes going through Bell Gardens. So in short, I've never lost a package at Bell Gardens. But like everyone else who like to track their package delivery process, it's disappointing to have it delayed by a few days because the route happens to take it through Bell Gardens. 3-stars read more
