This place is absolutely disgraceful. They receive packages and just never deliver them.

If your USPS package is going through Bell (Garden), don't expect to get it. That post office is FULL of thieves! I've written the post office several letters about my missing packages and I'm sure nothing has been done. Now I'm missing a book and last year, I didn't get about 5 packages...all last scanned at Bell. From there, into a postal employee's pocket. I guess they think it's their bonus. Not even worth one star. I sent a Package out of Oakland on the 14th - as of the 18th, it was in Bell Gardens, and no one has seen it since. As of this morning, it hasn't even been scanned in to the state of the destination. So it will definitely not get there by Christmas. So I now have to explain a very bare Christmas to a seven and five-year old, and probably have to re-buy and re-send (via FedEx) everything. read more

I am so sick and tired of this post office. I don't even know where to begin. I have had 8 packages lost and never delivered thanks to this damn location! I have called the 1-800 USPS SEVERAL times to only wait over an hour for someone to pick up my call and take down notes of my current situation. Its been almost three months now and no one seems to be able to resolve my problem with this post office. I have gone twice to try and talk to a supervisor and apparently there is never one available, I cant even count how many times I've tried calling and they never ever answer! I created an account just to review this sh*tty post office. If I could give a negative quantity of stars, this would be the place to receive such a rating. Ordered a pair of boots on Cyber Monday, Nov 28 that was shipped from LA. Ended up at this post office for 5 days before the location updated that my package was in Washington State. Like WTF?! Literally was just shipping to another location in LA an hour away from the original shipping address. Finally got my boots yesterday, Dec 8 though I paid for 2-day shipping. Unfortunately, looks like another package of mine is now coming through the same post office. Who knows if I'll actually end up receiving this one. They really should just shut this USPS office down as you'd think there would be enough complaints about it. read more

I mailed a package 10/23 at the East Palo Alto office (already a bad omen on my part). By 11/1, I looked up the tracking number. It had never left Bell Gardens. According to USPS, I waited until it was 14 days from mailing and opened and investigation online, but at that time I signed up for text alerts. The destination post office employee called me and said she would look for it. She said it has never arrived from California (in Illinois). She had to call Bell Gardens she said, and she would get back to me. All of a sudden I got a text that it arrived in Forest Park--on 11/14. Well guess what we got? The box looked fine--not smashed but maybe a bit tossed around looking. Nothing abnormal. When my husband opened it---nearly everything was GONE. The box was taped back up and made to look acceptable for shipping after the PO thieves at Bell Gardens took our Brita pitcher, North Face jacket, Maui Jim sunglass case, 16 oz glass insulated water bottle, hair dryer and travel coffee container. All items my husband forgot to/couldn't take with him back home on the flight. I cannot believe it. So I have opened an investigation with the OIG at 888-USPS-OIG (888-877-7644). Please people, if you have experienced this open your own investigation. Forget about contacting the Bell Gardens facility. These workers are not in private areas stealing stuff. I'm sure the postmaster is either involved or turning a blind eye. This location SUCKS ass. Don't come here, they won't help you at all. Teresa Villapodo, the manager is super unprofessional. I was in line, had a tracking paper in my hand, she didn't greet me, ask what was it that I needed, she took the paper from my hand, went to the back to do god knows what and never came back. They had to call her to come back and help me. When she came back, she couldn't help me at all with my first package. I asked if she could track another one of my packages and she said she's not going to be able to give me any information anyway. USELESS. She didn't even try. To put you at ease, I received my package (unopened, in perfect condition FYI) shipping from Japan no problem going through this so-called 'black hole'. Was so worried at first after seeing the negative reviews, but package just stayed here for couple hours and departed the facility. This office gets a bad rap because of a distribution center in the same city of a similar name. On everyone's tracking, it displays this office instead of the distribution center on Bandini. That is a huge facility where most of the bad stuff happens. I went to this office on Garfield to see if I could get what I needed, but unfortunately, most of the ire unfairly gets put on this office instead. The man at the counter was kind and helpful in telling me this. Your mail that got caught "here" is not there. It's on its way elsewhere. read more

This place has no purpose other than delaying your purchase as it is definitely is a "black hole." However, unlike real black holes, it is not entirely impossible for you to get your package back. My package was stuck here since Monday (3/6) and had been switching between "in transit for destination @ Bell Gardens" and "departed from Bell Gardens to destination." The tracking was glitching and remained this way until Friday (3/10). At this time, I received a response from customer service stating that they received my package and are in the process of getting it to me. PLEASE fix this specific post office as it greatly tarnished the reliance of USPS. read more

I too, am currently investigating a "lost" package. Or a package that most likely got into the hands of thieves at the Bell Gardens facility. My package left BG, but ended up being delivered to someone IN CA...package was supposed to come to NY. I asked how it could have been delivered if it required a signature confirmation in my name and NY address, but the person I am speaking to in Consumer Affairs said the label could've been reused. Not sure exactly what that meant, but after hanging up, I thought about it and yeah, someone at the BG facility could've easily put a different label on it. All makes sense. It's a scam and like Kelly Q. mentioned, I'm not sure why an investigation isn't being conducted. Maybe a lot of consumers aren't bothering to take the time to look into further, but I most certainly am. read more

The Bell Gardens Local Post Office is often confused with the sort facility that is also located in Bell Gardens. The packages that are addressed to any city besides Bell Gardens, Bell,Cudahy,or Maywood never went to this post office. Bell Gardens only service those cities. If your package shows that it is at the sort facility you must call consumer affairs for assistance at 3235861250. The sort facility is a mail processing plant and do not have a customer service line. read more

Bad place to have your package sorted. Once it leaves the facility it probably goes straight to an employees car. Had a large and expensive order from overseas get sorted here. 7 days and no updates on tracking. Opened up a case but waiting on the investigation. Highly doubt they will find my package especially after reading all the bad reviews. I will definitely avoid having any packages sorted at this facility and may avoid the post office all together. read more

I have also lost a package at bells garden post office. I launched an investigation but nothing was done about it. Never heard anything. Good thing is paypal had my back. There is something wrong with this facility. I've had a package disappear here with no explanation. I've had packages come out of here tampered with, i.e, mailed a pair of boots for a return and had the box come back to me a few days later with TOTALLY different boots inside that someone had to have literally taken off of their feet and switched with mine. The minute I saw another important package that was being sent to me was for some reason, routed here instead of Fresno, I immediately knew that this delivery might not happen. I've already planned my case information for paypal/ebay. They need to stop hiring thieves, fire and re-hire staff and get better security for their warehouse or burn the whole cesspool down. On May 13th I mailed a package to my son in LA and it arrived at Bell Gardens Post Office on May 16th. It is now July 10th and the box is still there, lost in the bowels of this inept and corrupt facility. I've called multiple times and they do not answer. I've filed claims to no avail. I shipped a package from Palo Alto on December 7 . As of December 18 it is stuck at their Bell Garden facility according to the tracking info. I have no idea when they will ship it.The only info they offer is that it will not be delivered by estimated delivery time. I tried with no luck to get through to a human at the USPS customer service and at the 562-806-1625 number. I would give 0 stars if that were possible. read more

If I could give zero stars I would. Twice now in the last month I had packages sent from LA down to Orange County and the dreaded Bell Gardens stop got me both times. How can a package from LA to OC end up on the East Coast, then get routed back to Bell Gardens then sit there forever? Don't even waste time trying to complain because they simply don't care. Two weeks ago my friend in Phoenix mailed a box that shows the next day as "in transit" from Bell Gardens. The tracking number still shows the original estimated delivery date even though that date has come and gone. I went to my local post office and they said they would reach out to Bell Gardens but haven't gotten a response. I called the postal service to open an investigation but they haven't been able to find out anything. I Googled this post office location to find out if there is a direct line I can call, and it looks like there are an endless number of others who have had this same exact issue with packages either mailing from or passing through Bell Gardens. I've been living in the City of Bell for two years. In those two years, I've had mail missing and packages lost. I receive regular mail on a daily basis but when it comes to city letters and police department mail, it never arrives! My mail carriers are excellent and I give them a thumbs up for their service.
