The man who helped us with our passports name was Guy and he is extremely knowledgeable, organized and friendly! I was astounded today when an irrational customer in line behind us started yelling at him because she had a busy day and this was going to delay her. He never raised his voice and diligently continued with his work. Finally she sat back down and waited her turn like everyone else. Went to this post office to have my wedding invitations hand cancelled. The clerk told me she "didn't know what I was talking about" and was extremely rude. Not surprised they have 2.5 stars! Customer service is completely lacking. Gotta love government employees. Went to post mark'd and they happily did this for me. read more

Scheduled an appointment to get my sons passport at this location. We waited for an hour beyond our scheduled appointment and had to endure listening to the gentlemen in charge have multiple useless conversations where he paused from his actual work to listen to himself talk all the while repeating himself over and over to people whom were obviously also annoyed while he held them hostage. We paid the extra $15 have a photo done at the post office to ensure it would meet the requirements. Six weeks later I received a letter stating that the passport photo was unacceptable. So, after another $15 at a pharmacy to have the passport photo taken again and paying $25 to overnight the documentation, I would advise skipping the post office and paying the extra fees elsewhere. read more

I have never posted a bad review on here but I had no choice. I cannot stand the attitude of the woman and the pick up area. I have had multiple encounters with her and she's been incredibly rude. Today I went to pick up my mail key and I asked her if there were any packages on hold. She said "if you don't have any packages in your mailbox come back". I did not understand why she wouldn't just check while I was there. Low and behold 2 packages were supposed to be delivered, said they were delivered...and they are not in my mailbox or my front door. I'm just not ok with how this is going. read more

I was expecting an insured delivery today--signature required--for which I paid $43 for two day service. I sat by my front door all morning, expectantly waiting for the doorbell to ring. Finally I went down to my neighborhood post box to see if the mail had been delivered, and there was a "Sorry we missed you" notice. Now I can't pick it up until Friday and I needed it today. The postman made absolutely no attempt to deliver this package to me. Of course they never answer their phone so it does no good to try to call the Oak Hill Branch. Mailed a package from this location. It was returned to my home because the label fell off in transit. Back to the post office with my receipt. Asked if a refund was possible. Nope. I was told to put extra tape over THIER label next time. Asked if they had some tape I could borrow to secure the label on the package I had to pay to mail a second time. Nope. I was told I would have to purchase it.....even though there were 4 tape dispensers in plain view. TERRIBLE customer service. read more

This was, by far the worst USPS location I have been to in the five states I have lived in. The place is extremely dirty. There was also not a single priority mail flat rate box in the entire display nor were there any labels available. The self service machine was out of order, so every customer must wait in line to see a customer service rep. The counter is understaffed and the men who were working looked like they were on the verge of suicide. Avoid this location at all costs. read more

Awful!!!!! Never answers, their phone. Have to call to remind them repeatedly to tell the driver that the opening they have for cluster boxes is larger than the opening on our side to retrieve packages. They have now jammed my box but can not get anyone to answer the phone to have the situation fixed. I work on the other side of town so hard get the situation fixed during their operating hours when they do not answer. read more

Oak Hill is our post office for our home address. We go away every year for five months. We always set up a forwarding address for our mail with start and stop dates. This year we also personally spoke to the postman and we left a note in our letter box reminding him when those dates were. We tried something new this year; we paid a third-party provider a monthly fee to receive our forwarded mail, post photos of it on a secure site, and either destroy it, hold it for our return or take action according to our instructions. We returned last night to Austin after five months away. The third-party has only 21 pieces of forwarded mail for us. Meanwhile, we had to use force to pull the crammed-in bent and folded mail out of our letter box. It wasn't supposed to be in there in the first place. Among the letters crammed in over the summer was a jury duty summons that I knew nothing about until last night. I would have been aware of it if the USPS had forwarded it like they were supposed to do. We have been going away for the summer for seven straight years and every year it's the same thing. Mail is returned to sender, lost or destroyed, or it is shoved into our letter box with all of the unsolicited glossy brochures, marketing coupons, real estate magazines, all of the unwanted mail that normally goes straight into the paper recycling bin; and some important items sit in there for all or part of the summer. I can't explain it, other than to say that the USPS is just incompetent. If anybody has had this experience, I would love to read about it. read more

The folks here are always friendly. I recently went in to mail off documentation and payment for a passport name change. I was cutting it close, so they suggested that I pay with a money order rather than a check to cut down a day or two of processing time. They also looked over my documents to ensure everything was in order. They did all they could to ensure that my passport was processed without issue. read more

LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this post office location! Guy and Rob are always so helpful every time I go in, which is at least once a week. Everyone here is patient, friendly, and extremely knowledgable, which is great if you often ship around the world as I do. Do go here if you live south/central. To try and make a long story short, I was expecting a package at the place I was staying for a very long time. The day after I moved (and gave my contact information to the people in charge), the package came in. I wasn't called about its arrival and it was then a "return to sender" package. I called a couple days after that had happen without my knowing and had found it had arrived. I was very upset. Instead of going off on the people there, I decided I'd just have to fix the situation. When I had purchased the order I was expecting, I was not given a tracking order number. I went to the Oak Hill USPS and asked if they could find out how to locate my package. Mark and another gentleman spent roughly 15 minutes trying to help me find it. They did everything they could without a tracking number. I emailed the people I had purchased from about 5 times and finally got a tracking number. I went back the next day. Mark helped me again for at least 20 minutes if not longer and finally was able to hunt down the package. I squealed! I was so happy. His perseverance helped me get what I had waited so long for and his kind attitude helped restore my faith in humanity. :) read more
