From the perspective of a former law enforcement officer, "Officer" Brecher is the poorest excuse of any public servant I've ever encountered. Despite many old headstones, there are some recent interments here making this an active cemetery. There are quite a few family plots here with the same names. This is a well cared for, orderly cemetery with several large oak trees providing shade. There's also a gravel lane running around the perimeter where you can park. I was surprised to see that they have a porta potty on the property. This would be a peaceful place in the country if it weren't for the noise of US 290. There's still some space on this property for future interments if you would like to make this your forever home.

This is quite the opposite for the bright and open children's section with a massive offering of books for the littles, ages 0 and up. Board books, picture books, short bed time stories, classic fairy tales, and the longer fare you might remember from elementary and middle school. Also with on this section, you will find a large meeting space for groups and readings, and a smaller play room you can book for play dates or just to get your gaggle of kids out of the house. They also sponsor the 1000 Books Before Kindergarten program as a push to promote parent involvement in their kids' early literacy. I haven't used the facility's other meeting rooms and study carousels, but they have much to offer the community.

Their relatively low prices and their excellent instructors show their commitment to providing the best EMS education possible to the Central Texas public safety community. Their training chief has an obvious passion for his work and mission. This shows consistently not only through their course offerings, but their physicial facilities and the equipment that they make available for training. Having previously worked as a paramedic in their service area, I can also say that their firefighters and medical first responders represent their department every bit as well as their training program. For those of you who aren't firefighters, EMTs, or paramedics, they also teach CPR as well. I'd highly recommend their CPR classes, which will be taught by real emergency services professionals. That makes a difference in the class.

As the name of this cemetery suggests, this is by in large a Hispanic cemetery. There is a small…read moreTexas historical sign on the property which is included in the photos below and it adds additional insight. The size of the cemetery is about 100' x 200'. There are some family plots here, but at the same time there is some randomness as to how people are buried on the property, and there are many varying types of headstones and memorials. There are the traditional headstones found here, but there are many that have been created from scratch by family members. This appears to still be an active cemetery, although there does not appear to be much space left. The cemetery is fairly well tended to and often visited, but it seems that the trees on the property are getting out of hand. It should be pointed out that just a short walk from this cemetery on the same street is the Masonic cemetery which is much larger. Plenty of photos included for added insight.
