I really wanted to like this post office because it's the closest one to me super convenient location but after two separate terrible experiences, I'm officially done. Both times I went in, the service was shockingly rude and unprofessional. It's clear the employees here have no interest in helping anyone. Even when I spoke kindly and respectfully, I was met with complete attitude and zero effort. The overall energy is just off the staff act like they don't want to be there I even overheard one staff member saying "I wouldn't be here if they weren't paying me", and they do the bare minimum. The building itself doesn't help either it's dark, dirty, and honestly feels neglected. Whoever took these photos they're completely outdated and misleading. Both visits, I was simply trying to return a small Amazon package (a foundation, nothing complicated). I don't have a printer or tape at home, so I politely asked for help, and was flat-out denied. I left, went out of my way to print the label elsewhere, and came back another day. A different employee helped me slightly, but still told me I had to buy tape and tape the box myself, then immediately started helping the next person mid-conversation. I left frustrated and unwelcome. For something as simple as a return, the process was painfully difficult. I didn't even get a receipt and wasn't sure if that was normal. It's unfortunate because the location is convenient, but the lack of professionalism and basic courtesy ruins it. I'll be driving farther out from now on for better service. Hopefully management sees this and does something about it this is easily the worst USPS experience I've had anywhere. read more

This post office is convenient for me to use while at work or on lunch since most of the locations are closed by the time I'm off. It's not as busy as your usual Post Office which explains why they always have only one clerk working. She does however, seem to move the line along at a good pace. They have typical business hours and everything that your usual Post Office has including shipping, cards and even gift cards. It's really a one stop shop for all of your shipping needs. There's also a Chilantro truck located near the entrance if you're feeling Korean BBQ! read more

Cheers to the fastest postal office visit I've ever had! They're going to be here whether we rate USPS high or low, so I'll write to you bluntly. The workers are slow like any other post office. But if you visit during off-peak times (10 AM to 3 PM, excluding lunchtime), then you'll have a two minute wait like I did. (There was no one in line, but you'll always have that 1 to 2 minute obligatory wait, wondering if anybody's even in the facility). USPS refuses to come to the house to pick up packages. They don't honor pick up requests and will just put in the system that they already picked up the package each time you try a request. So, if I must drop packages off, here is where I'll go. read more

This post office is the most unhelpful place in Austin, BUT only if Carolyn is working. I needed tape which was sitting right in front of her & she said she has none left..... I watched multiple people leave & get frustrated with her. She seems like she is working really hard but doesn't mean she has to make it hard on everybody else. read more

Not a huge fan of this branch. I came in and only one person was working, and I got hit up on the way in and out from homeless people looking for change. That said, I did get what I needed to get done here, and I guess that's most of what you ask for when you go to a post office, no? read more

During a recent trip to Austin, I shipped a few packages from this Post Office on Congress Street. I stopped inside on three separate occasions and each time I received friendly and on-top-of-it service. The post office is next to the 7-Eleven and the Chi'Lantro food truck sets up shop in front of it. There is a drop off box in front of the post office outside (its pick up time is 5pm M-F and 12pm Sat). When you go inside, the self-service kiosk will be to your left. The line for regular service will be to your right. Mailing supplies for sale are found against the right wall as well. This office also has mailboxes for rent. The mailboxes are found in another room to the back and left. In short, I am satisfied with the service that I received and would come back again. read more

Molly is the best USPS employee I've ever encountered. The woman always goes above and beyond - whether I'm simply trying to send something out, I'm buying stamps or I'm tracking down a lost package. She's so helpful and genuinely kind. I'll continue to go to this location because of her. read more

I hate this post office. They lose packages all the time. Sometimes they don't even answer the buzzer to get your packages, and THEN they will send your packages back (or "lose" them) because you didn't go pick them up. Like ... what? I am so sick of this bs. When I first got my PO Box, it took them like a week or two and several times asking, for them to actually key my box. Like, OMG with these people! It will be such a pain to change my addy but it's on my agenda now. read more

I run an online business so I'm shipping packages out daily. Special thank you to Carolyn & Diana as they are very efficient and have always made sure my packages get scanned in. The tracking always comes through before the end of the day, which is great for my business and customers. I've shipped hundreds of packages here both domestic and international and have never once had a problem. I can't recommend this Post Office enough because they actually care about you! read more

I like to go to this place and have get my mail and I really appreciate people of the US Post Service and if I find somebody's ID or identification on on the ground I turn into the one of these post office and make sure they get their identification back I am a very good loving kind of guy and really good loving big heart and and God is always with me everyday when I am homeless or I'm in transitional trying to get into a place you got Whoever likes to this app or likes to use this place it's very good to receive your mail in Jesus name amen read more

I love this post office if there's even a such thing as loving a post office. They always stay stocked with supplies. The line moves fast, I've never had to wait longer than 5 minutes. I never have issues with lost packages (knock on wood). The employees are nice too. This location makes going to the post office a little less monotonous. read more

The workers are not friendly at all. They will not raise an arm to assist and act as if they hate life. I would recommend hiring a friendly staff. Austin in general has very nice outgoing people however walking into the post office is miserable!!! read more

Never thought I would rate a Post Office but these guys were great. They are fair, fast, asked what I was doing in line, at which point they pointed me to a shorter line to get my certified mail. They professionally dealt with entitled people who came in after closing time in a respectful manner. Courteous and efficient. Can't ask for much more. Great job! read more

Only location south of Jolleyville that stays open until 5:30 p.m. and has a last collection time at 6:00 p.m. I'm often there at 5:59 and they never pick up any early than 6 on the dot. Most people probably have their stuff more together than me, but for a hopeless procrastinator this really comes in handy. There's 15 min parking on the southeast corner of 9th and Congress that's always available. Lines are never long even during rush hour. Good selection of priority/express mail packing materials but, more importantly, they're always stocked, which I can't say for any other branch. A+ DT USPS! read more

Not only was I told that I was too late to come in for a refund (i was through the door getting service, so obviously they were still open) they also couldn't find the form to give me a refund. This is the second post office I've had to go to in order to attempt my refund. This all started because I paid for overnight delivery and my package didn't arrive until 3 days later. The customer service, or rather lack thereof, that I'm receiving right now is unreal- there is only one woman working at almost 5pm and she is basically telling everyone she can't or doesn't want to help them and we have to wait for someone else to show up. Dropped off two boxes to be sent to my new address. Employee tersely accepted them and I paid. After a week, the label from one box arrived and the other label followed after a period of mysterious time. My entire book collection has now vanished and they are accepting absolutely no responsibility. But at least I have the address labels I filled out. I had 2 packages sent via USPS. This location reports them both to be delivered. One was delivered several days after the web tracking says it was. The other is still unaccounted for. The phone number for this location doesn't work. It rings several times and then hangs up. I'm having to work with the main USPS customer support - which keeps not calling me back when they say they would. If you live in this zip code, I am truly sorry for you. I work in this zip code, but will never have anything delivered to my office via USPS again. read more

Do not sign up for a mail box at this location. Although the lobby is suppose to be open until 10pm every night, it has been closed on many occasions. The latest excuse is that one of the door handles is broken. Well, it was still broken today and I managed to get in during open hours on Monday when you have to pay for parking if you can find a space to park. It was locked tight yesterday afternoon and two weeks ago on a Sunday night around 8. If the metal door breaks on Sunday that easily, perhaps a new door/handle needs to be installed. read more
