When all others fail to deliver, this is my secret go-to post office location. It is fairly close to downtown and is in the same shopping center as a competing private business mail supply store, so you can kill two birds with one stone if you need to send out a bunch of packages through various methods. What I enjoy most about this Post Office branch is that even though you only have 1-2 people working, you typically have a shorter wait than you would say, at the Downtown branch. You might have a person or two in front of you, but to be honest, you won't be waiting very much at all. They seem to also keep their supplies better stocked than some of the larger branches. For instance, today I was hunting for some Large Flat Rate boxes and none of the large branches I visited in the past 2 days had them (my guess is due to the upcoming holiday season). So I stopped by to check them out and lo and behold they had exactly what I needed. The employees are very friendly and extremely knowledgable and will help you get the best deal for your mailing needs if they see you could benefit from a cheaper, but just as beneficial service. The location is quiet and there is always parking. The only major drawback is that their hours are fairly short compared to major branches (M-F, 10-1 then 1:30-4:30 and Sat 9-1). read more

Whichever woman was working at 12:30 pm on March 26th deserves to be fired. She locked the doors 30 minutes before the building' lunch break (which is posted online and on the physical doors of the building) while I tried to drop off a package. She ignored me and kept her head down as I tried to knock. She seemed lazy and uninterested in doing her job or helping people. This was rude and unprofessional. read more

As a 30-year-old I am disappointed that I have not been to the post office as much as I should have. With that said the lady at the side door was really helpful in helping me get a change of address form. Kudos to her for having patience with me. Didn't know I would ever leave a review for a post office, but here I am. Mondays are prime for shipping anything so it was a little busy, but service was prompt and the clerk was polite. You can tell she knew exactly what she was doing and she did it very efficiently. She recommended different shipping rates based on insurance included. Unfortunately self service wasn't operating but everything turned out great for me. read more

Never open - their posted hours are not honored - they have a little clock picture with adjustable hour and minute that they use as they wish. Last week I arrived at 1:30 during open hours and they had the clock set to 1:50. Today it's set to 2pm. It's very small town despite being a government office in central Austin. read more

I had such a wonderful time at my neighborhood PO today. I walk in with 2 packages to ship and got the rudest service I have ever received in this town in ..... IDK..2 weeks? I am shocked that the clerk acted like it was such a pain in the ass to assist me when these people make more than most people I know (including me and I don't even have a real job!) I received much better service in Dallas, but maybe it's just an Austin thing and this how people want to treat each other. Does anyone love Mondays anymore? BTW, these guys have to take a 30 min. lunch break at 1 so forget going to this place on yours because your business could be less important to them. We moved into the neighborhood about nine months ago. This is the worst post office I have ever seen. Their hours are very short at the window, and close at 4:30. However, their staff frequently lock the doors at 420-425. Today they tried to close the doors at 4:15 stating that they were closing early due to a staff shortage; however there were already seven people in line at the window and I simply needed to pick up a package. Argued with the attendant for quite a while before being given my package. I've never seen the place with such short hours with the window closed during their lunch time and the staff continue to try to shorten their workday even more by closing early on a routine basis. There are two female staff--one short heavyset Hispanic and a younger African-American who seem to be especially problematic. But none of the other employees appear to be too much of a gem either. I would look for another post office, but this one is simply too close to where we live and work. read more

Typical post office ambiance. Slow service, limited hours, and when it is time for employee breaks the employee closes their station, regardless of whether or not there are many customers in line. Could take a lesson from fast food restaurants where the customers are served first, then and only then do employees go on break. This applies to most of our post offices. Our tax dollars could be used more efficiently! read more

Very friendly staff, personable and helpful. The lines there can take a while, because people often go there with complicated shipping requests. However, the lobby is usually open and has a self-service machine, mail slot, and drop box. Overall very convenient and great PO. read more

One particular clerk here is horrendous every time I come in. I've never once seen her smile and her attitude is always such that it's an inconvenience that she's having to help. She is argumentative and without fail challenges my insurance on packages. I see her do this will all customers. Seems to hate her job and people in general. read more

My daughter's mail is sometimes opened before it is even delivered. A package she sent for Father's Day was mangled at the post office before it even left the facility. Luckily the person who usually delivers her mail saw it, saw the return address, and took it back to her. She will now use only UPS or FedEx for packages. My mail to her often does NOT reach her unless I send it Priority Mail. Still wondering what happened to the latest mail I sent her since its been over 10 days. She is afraid to post anything but I am not. The complaints about this facility continue to increase. The whole staff at the facility need to be completely replaced with people who appreciate having a good job. read more

She's gone! This is my neighborhood post office, and it used to be home to one of the rudest clerks I've ever encountered. I'm guessing that all of the customer surveys that we filled out had an impact because she is gone! I feel compelled to write this review because this post office is now staffed by the nicest, most courteous of counter help -- especially the lovely Linda. They are pleasant and efficient. Even when the line is long, they make quick work of it. Kudos to the USPS for hearing our complaints and making positive changes! read more
