Not sure why it says this post office is closed. It is open, and not bad for me because it is walking distance and have decent PO Boxes and parking. I would give them one more star but couple things. 1. Don't bother trying to call the number. No one ever answers. It just rings and rings indefinitely. Why post the phone if you never answer. 2. Looks like this location is trying to improve the customer service, but it is a little weird. They are all happy and smiling to the point of creepy lIke on happy pills. 3. Lastly they added a new feature to ask how they did in the pay terminal. I don't mind doing surveys separately at home. But when the face of the person is staring at you is awkward. ***the U.S. Post Office at 3507 North Lamar is very much open (not sure why it is reported as being closed). This location has a very friendly, knowledgeable team. They keep things moving + are very customer service-oriented. Every interaction I have had there has been speedy + pleasant. I have been to other USPS locations where you feel ignored or as if you are a burden. This USPS location is a 5/5 for me. read more

Today I went to this Post Office to send a package to my nephew in CA and was asked by the man working there if I was from California , when I responded "Yes" he said "Good, Now Go Home". This rude man was unprofessional and doesn't deserve a job that requires him to deal with the public. I WILL BE CONTACTING THE POSTMASTER, NEWSPAPER AND NEWS. read more

I must say I arrived at 1:15 and there were about 5 to 6 customers in front of me. There was only one worker at the counter. I will say this lady handled her business. She had people in and out with no issues. She didn't take any unnecessary questions but was very respectful. You know how sometimes people want you to hold their hand in every step of the process. Ugh! I say it took me about 10 mins from start to finish to get seen. The worker was very respectful and nice. It was a change in the attitudes that you experience at some post offices. I would return for any postal needs. They are short on stamps but that's probably because of the Mother's Day weekend. read more

Worst customer service ever. I ran out of tape at home and requested to borrow a small piece to adhere a label to a small package. They refused to let me use any. Other post offices have allowed me to do this in the past. read more

Excellent service and experience. The staff are very friendly and patient. Wait times can be up to 20 minutes(on average, based on personal experience), but I've never had a bad experience and the staff keeps the line moving. read more

This review is written on Christmas eve for Cindy and her team. I arrived at the post office at 11:55am (they close at noon today) with a bunch of gifts I needed to box and address. I write SLOW. A couple of things happened: 1) A gentleman who was a bit distraught walked in just ahead of me with a pickup slip. He had just missed his postal carrier because he stepped out for a few minutes from his house. He was waiting for a critical kid Christmas package. Nothing could be done, the package could be picked the day after Christmas as the carrier was still out completing his route, what was the person at the counter supposed to do? Call the mailman on his cell phone and ask him to stop what was doing and go back to the house to meet the distraught father so his kids could have the Christmas morning he had envisioned?? Yup, they did exactly that!!! 2) Cindy, who got to work ***at 4am*** helped me package my boxes as I wrote addresses as fast as my slow hands would write. Another person came out with some tissue paper I forgot to bring to pad the gifts in shipping boxes. Yup they did that. For all of the haters who review this place, have you stopped to consider that the REAL Santa Claus is the team of people who work here and deliver your packages? If I could rate this post office 0 stars I would. I asked the man if I could borrow some tape and he said I had to purchase it. But then I see someone else using post office tape just because I'm a women and a Hispanic women I didn't get the same privilege. This man is about the rudest person I have encountered. I've gone to other post offices and they offer tape and they even help you with what you need. This is a dis service. read more

I usually use 24 hour kiosk. However I needed to mail couple international packages. Which I had gotten quote at round rock location. This place was higher. I asked for tape. He tries to sell me some. Really? Round rock location always helps. He finally tells me he will give me a piece. Thanks jerk! Finally. I have been mailing international packages for years without problems. This joker says I have wrong forms and makes me get out of line to fill out another claim form. read more

If you work 8-5 you might as well go die if you want your parcels that they basically hold hostage. Put it in the po box or allow your paying customers to get their mail, it's not rocket science. Why pay for 2 day shipping if you can't even pick it up.. but you can shout that your closed from behind a walll top notch guys!!! read more

I'm a BIG Fan of this post office! I was trying to send a framed piece of embroidery to UK (Essex, England), and another piece (not framed, 8" x 6", less than an ounce) to Scotland. When I took these to the mailing-store, on 34th Street, they quoted me almost FOUR-HUNDRED dollars, for both items! I couldn't believe it. Mailbox place quoted $280 (plus) for the larger item (15" x 16" x 5"), at 3.8#, and another $100 (plus) for the small piece.. which was really only a letter with a patch in it. The man at USPS was helpful and very nice. I will use USPS, and particularly, this store, again and again. THANK YOU for charging $53 for first item and $17 for second. Saved me THREE_HUNDRED DOLLARS! And, nice people, on top of it. truly, wonderful! read more

This post office is always understaffed. And the large package drop off bin is always locked or full. Which means I have to return during normal post office hours. This is a huge inconvenience when you already have prepaid postage. read more

I wish I would have asked the name of the woman postal employee who made my USPS service experience pleasant. She made a point of acknowledging each of us in line for being patient and/or to let us us know we'd be up soon. The line wasn't even that bad. She genuinely seemed to enjoy her job and people. Due to the COVID lockdown and us all wearing face masks, I couldn't see... but it would be my guess that she was smiling. read more

As good as it gets for a post office. I was the next in line when one of the counter clerks said "I'll be right with you." Another clerk ended up taking care of me and was polite and efficient. For a government office, much less the post office, I'm impressed! read more

Nicest people I've found in an Austin post office and never seem to be busy (no line).

I have found this Post Office to be staffed with helpful, knowledgable people. The wait is usually not bad and the workers keep the line moving. This is SUCH a contrast to the Westlake PO, which has abysmal service by a motley crew of surly, weird individuals. Went weekday lunchtime. Plenty of parking and front door propped open for convenience. No line. Friendly staff. I was prepared with labels and paperwork. Processing and payment went quick and easy. Clerk was super friendly while being efficient. Very impressed. Overall inside was clean and well stocked. Will be back:) read more

when I got there today 5 mins before closing they told me they couldn't help because they were closing soon. I told them I was just picking up a package and they said it didn't matter - they were closing in 5 minutes and they wanted to make sure no one got in there way. I placed a mail hold over the holidays to be picked up at the post office. When I went to pick it up they said they didn't have it and it must have gone out for delivery. Two months and a formal complaint to USPS.com later, I still do not have my held mail. In addition, for the last two months I tend to receive other people's mail from my apartment complex about 2-3 times a week, including packages. It makes me wonder how much of my mail is going missing. That worry was confirmed the other day when I was walking by the mailboxes during a mail delivery. I saw a package I was expecting on the ground but decided not to bug the mailman and wait until it was delivered. Thirty minutes later, I check my mailbox but no package. I check my office, no package. The tracking number said it was delivered and when I tell the manager this he claims that I cannot file a claim for the cost of the lost package because the USPS will find me at fault! Good to know that as long as they scan your package "Delivered" they are not liable. All they do at this post office is make false promises about resolving issues to get you out the door in hopes that you will drop it. read more
