I just left the Dubuque store on Wacker Plaza. I was sitting there for 20 minutes before anybody was behind the check in desk. The employee began to talk other people ahead of me. I said, "I was here first! I don't have time for this." and began to leave. He said to me Don't come back!!!! This is NOT the customer service I expect. I was trying to get help activating a phone that won't activate by following the instructions. This employee was way out of line and obviously wandering around the store rather than doing his job, not to mention the absurdly rude comment. read more

As good as it gets (for a wireless provider at least). I would recommend the Wacker location and asking for Marissa. I also recommend making an appointment in advance if you don't want to wait an hour to see a sales consultant. As for why I recommend this store: Coming from a horrendous customer service experience with Verizon, I wasn't expecting much from US Cellular. I switched to get a lower priced monthly plan but didn't expect more than that. I have been pleasantly surprised since making the switch. It's not that everything has been 100% smooth (it hasn't been) but the big difference is that the sales and customer service staff at my local US Cellular have actually been able to address issues and resolve them WITHOUT me spending endless hours on the phone trying to explain things to an 800-number support person. Maybe my expectations are just that low but with Verizon, any time I had a problem I would be told one thing by one rep, only to wait several weeks for what they told me not to happen. I would have to call up again, start over with a new person, and hope that the story they were telling me would be true. It never was. I am completely astounded by US Cellular in the sense that even though things have been bumpy with my transition from Verizon and everything didn't go exactly as promised, there has always been a real person ready to take ownership of the problem and find a solution. U.S. Cellular is crap. I was lied to repeatedly. My experience working with Vicki at the Wacker drive store was terrible. And, to top it all off, my phone gets notification of texts and calls hours, sometimes DAYS, after the fact. So frustrated. read more

Vicki from wacker drive was argumentative from the start when all we asked were simple questions. Very defensive for no apparent reason. Also when some one speaks down to you when they themselves look like garbage makes you want to leave the branch all together. Hire better help and more educated on people skills. Another bad experience with a US Cellular retail store. Bought son an iPhone for Christmas on Dec 5. Gave it to him on th24th. Didn't work. Recycled continuously. Spoke to a customer service rep at the dubuque, Wacker Drive location. Was told being over the 15 day limit would not be a problem because the phone could be swapped out as DOA. When arrived at the store (40 minute drive). Was told by customer service that the phone would have be sent to Apple for repairs. Long story short, a manager was able to get a new phone. Will leave US Cellular as soon as Verizon or some other national carrier has a "buy out" program. US Cellular customer for 17 years. read more
