The service really gone down hill. The staff is rude and not helpful. I asked to speak to the manager and I was told he was too busy and he would call me. 4 days later and no call. DO NOT BUY THE EXTENDED WARRANTY. IT IS SCAM. My Sony TV went out within two years of the purchase and I have the extended warranty. I have to wait 11 days for a person to come out just to figure out what's wrong with the TV not to fix it. Which of course, cost me $100. After he " diagnose' the TV that somebody else has to come out and fix it, which is going to be another month. I've spent over $10,000 at Best Buy in the last five years and it's the last time I will ever buy anything from Best Buy again. I'm going to be cutting up my Best Buy credit card. read more

Once ordered a major appliance online and this location really came thru with the delivery and installation. Most recent appliance I ordered online was a complete nightmare due to BestBuy's online call center's lack of knowledge, follow thru, and limited language communication skills. Spent over two hours chatting on line as well as live on phone with remote call center. Was so fed up I drove to Dubuque store where a "face to face" person made it all right. Dishonest or just sneaky. Both Best Buy in Dubque has new cash registers. They don't show what's being rung up. So the sales person say you owe X. You don't know if they got the right item, if they got the sale price did they charge twice etc. If you have a scorecard they don't ask if want the receipt in the bag, email or both. They just put it in the bag. It's another no customer service at Dishoest Buy. This is dishonest, sneaky and just poor customer customer service. I bought my computer from best buy online, as soon as I got the laptop and opened it up it blue screened on me and gave me an error code. I called here about getting my computer fixed under the manufacturer warranty (directed to do this by the manufacturer as they have a contract with Best Buy to do this for no charge). They told me to just come in and they would replace it. I asked if I needed an appointment and they said no. Drove 45 minutes to get here and was told I needed an appointment with geek squad and the closest appointment was 7. Missed my plans to wait for the appointment. Went to the appointment and was told it was a hard drive issue and they would be sending it to the service center for repairs. They told me they didn't need the charger so to just take it with me. Got a call the next day saying they could fix it in store but needed the charger. Told them I could drop it off the next day. The next day I woke up to another voicemail saying they needed the charger and they think they can fix it in store but if I have any other issues to let them know. Thought this was weird but whatever. Bring them the charger. A couple days later I get an email saying it's ready to be picked up. Go and pick it up and they say they fixed it and it wasn't doing the issue anymore. Got home and tried to use it and it immediately blue screened again. I called them to tell them and they said all they can do is send it to the service center (what they were originally supposed to do) and I need to bring it back to the store which is 45 minutes away. Called the manufacturer and they were really apologetic and are sending me a shipping label to their service center instead. Never buying from here again no one knows what they're doing and they keep you on the run around. Geek squad is a joke and the people working in that department barely know how to do anything IT related besides uninstalling and reinstalling everything and then calling it "fixed". read more

My computer had a mild problem with the screen-flickering and glitching out. I brought it to Best Buy, who then told us they would have to send it the manufacturer to get fixed. After about a week and a half, the computer was fixed and we went to go pick it up. What should've only taken a few minutes took a lot longer. The employees were frantic and confused. When they brought my computer out, there was a good sized dent in the middle of it that was not there before. They explained that the manufacturing company had fixed the computer, BROKE IT, and then fixed it again. The computer was under warranty, so there was no charge. We were then told that we wouldn't be charged for the $400 worth of damage that THEY caused. Nothing was offered to us for the damage done. Do not trust these people with your property, they don't care what happens to it. read more

Got in and out fairly fast when I was in a bit of a rush. They had all of their selection for the items I was looking for easily accessible. I don't like how the newer Best Buys have their check lanes set up though and just have one cashier because it can build up a line where the sign indicates for you to form a line very quickly during mini spurts of busy business. The store was clean and well organized. Associates were plentiful around the store and they never made me feel as if they were hovering around me or pressuring me. Best Buy I don't understand how the store in Dubuque IA can be so inconsiderate. David the manager didn't have any empathy what so ever. Tyler the employee really didn't care about my purchase at all. I understand when you have a technician to go out and do things but keep your promise days. We recently bought a TV from Brandon P. in the Dubuque location. He was exceptional. Instead of telling us what HE thought we should buy, he asked us, what our viewing habits are, the layout of our room, how much light is in the room. He was informed, personable and it was zero pressure. Instead of giving us 20 options, he directed us toward 3 that matched our criteria and we chose the one we wanted. Rarely do I run into a sales person who is so incredible but Brandon is the one. Plus we got a $100 Best Buy gift card for buying the TV. Yesterday I believe it was Bob from the Geek Squad who called me to confirm the delivery and approximate time which was helpful. Could not have been nicer. Today the TV was delivered and they will recycle our old one for only $15.00. Carlos P. From the Geek Squad called me at 10:20 and said they'd be here at 10:45 and it was exactly 10:45. They were in a beautiful new van, professionally dressed and Carlos gave me his business card first thing. Carlos and his co-worker were professional and very efficient. They didn't waste one minute. The guy that helped us buy our tv was great. Except, he told us that they would recycle our old TV. We spent $2000 to replace an old 65" tv... They only take under 50" tube tvs. When I called to make sure they would take our tv the person on the phone wasn't helpful at all.. Grr. The staff here is very knowledgable and friendly compared to other Best Buys I've been to. I've purchased several high end items from them and have always received great advice. Also, at other Best Buys, I noticed that the employees try to B.S. you into buying warranties, because they get bonuses for selling them. At this location though, there have been a couple times where the employees have been straight-forward with me and told me that getting a warranty isn't really worth it. Decent prices and selection...but the "Bait and Switch" headquarters in Dubuque. everytime they have a great deal its not in stock or they try very hard to get you to buy something else. I bought a 42 in 1080P TV that they had on sale on their website and when I got to the store they ARGUED with me and tried to get me to buy and more expensive 720P set - trying to tell me it didn't matter and nobody broadcasts in higher than 720P yada yada. I finally had to tell them either they get me the TV of my choice NOW or I was walking. Last Christmas they had a remote car starter on sale in the paper and of course when I got there there were none in stock...amd I was told how I really needed to buy the much higher priced ones...I made them order me the one I wanted and deliver UPS to my house. When the person I gave it to took it in to get installed they tried to sell them a bunch of undeeded stuff for it.
