I has purchased a gal of deck stain. My goal was to stain the deck today. When I opened the can the color was all wrong. The paint department didn't add a color to the mixture. Soooo I had to drop everything drive into Dubuque to correct the problem. Note: My time was lost and the extra expense of driving in. At the paint dept. the bald guy that messed it up the first time was there. Not one word of "sorry" by him was said. He's not the most pleasant guy. I tried to get Menards to throw me a bone for me for my trouble but it wasn't happening. Who ever that guy was in the paint dept he's not people person. read more

I bought a Southern Motion recliner from Menards and the quality was terrible. I told Menards the problem and they then passes me off to Southern Motion and they passed me off to another company. It still isn't fixed. read more

This store is existing. Why can't a female be a carryout?! The front end managers are always on their phones. The one male manager I've witnessed go shopping with a woman, maybe his wife. There is no discipline at the registers! The store managers should be ashamed for having no control. I'm shopping at Lowe's from now on. You have lost my business at this store. read more

I continue to like Menards for lumber, hardware, tools, etc. With the Covid19 emergency going on you'll find necessary steps are being taken to help protect workers and customers. Masks are required of customer, and the staff is wearing them. Social distancing is encouraged, and when very busy, lines at the entry door are spacing appropriately. Inside, floor markings remind those queuing to checkout to maintain appropriate separation. Plastic shields are in place at checkout registers. And the occasional 11% discount on purchases has been extended beyond the normal one-week time. Thank you for working to protect folks during this unusual medical crisis. read more

Menards is great with regard to supply and product availability. However the customer service here is garbage. I am renovating a bathroom and continue to have disappointing encounters at the order pick up area. Either no one is working back there, or you walk in and there are multiple people at the desk, and no one greets you or addresses that you are there to pick up an order. Today I had an order notification that my pick up was ready, only to get there and have them tell me it has not been unloaded off the truck. Very frustrating and disappointing. And the girl working could not have been more rude. Fingers crossed we got a Home Depot in Dubuque. read more

Don't listen to the bad reviews. I've read them and they're mostly wining from computer based issues that are out of stock when they arrive. Use the phone and call first if your traveling a bit to make a purchase. This place sells out like any other business. Crying won't fix your little problem. I shop here 4-5 days a week since 2007. Customer service is terrible. All I needed was a cedar 2x4 3 feet long. Their website said there was 20 available. Not a single Menards employee would help me find it. Will be giving my business to Lowe's and Spahn & Rose from now on. read more

Menards is a very generalist type store, but it has many things you might need for the house and home. We tend to go here to wander around and happen upon unexpected deals. You can find lighting, plumbing supplies, home improvement, food, appliances, and the list goes on. Many of the items are good quality and a reasonable price. I called here yesterday and spoke to a Chrystal an employee in plumbing. I gave her the exact model number from the manufacturer for a Mr. Heater one burner propane top heater. She said "oh we have plenty." I asked her to save me one I would come right over and pick it up. I arrived at this store in just a few minutes. I looked for one on the shelf there was none! I located this employee and she "said this is the one I put aside for you." It was not the specific model number I had just earlier discussed with here! Then she went ballistic! So I went to Menards customer service kiosk and spoke with a rude lady! I asked for their Store manager so he arrived and said his employee "Chrystal said I threatened to kill her." I said that's total bull shit! I told this store manager that statement he made to me was tantamount to him molesting some boy last night." He told me to leave his store and I left!
