I came in on a Friday morning around 11:25am to mail a small package out. There was one staff member behind the desk. I got a large (10.5x16) bubble mailer for $3.19 and filled out the information. I mailed the small package with USPS Ground Advantage. Tracking is included for free on all Ground Advantage packages. -ZERO STARS - my first ever ZERO! The Postmaster at this office is both inflexible and lazy. A package with expected delivery yesterday by 8pm had not arrived. We saw that it made it to our local post office at 5am. It was not out yet for delivery, so I called at 8am sharp. I explained that we would like to come directly and pick up the package, as it was a gift for a party this morning. I don't frequent this post office often. Even though I live in town. I don't mail things often. Nor do I have a po box or anything. So Why every time I go to this wretched post office everyone who services me has an attitude?!? I feel like they've trained me to stand on line silently until they call me over and to not make small talk until they get the job done and leave. Well yesterday the "teller" I had was a total b*tch. HIS name is AJ. He was wearing jeans and the post office shirt. His hair was unkempt. A head full of yellow dreads. And an attitude that can rival any woman on her monthly. The person in front of me was called to him. He said next. After they were done. I stood where I was waiting to be called because I didn't know if he had somethings to finish up before he could help me. He looked at me and shrugged his shoulders like "what's up" and pursed his lips together and moved his head up and down (some real hood ish) as if to say "what's up, want you want". Normally I wouldn't have paid that any attention but I was with my husband and he said lets go. So I listened. I asked him for an envelope to mail my rent check. Usually I get an envelope that's prestamped. It gets handed to me at the counter and I fill it out and hand it back to the teller. Not this time. He rolled his eyes. Pointed to the wall and said the envelopes are over there. I don't know if they changed things but that was a shock to me but my husband went and got it. I stepped over to the empty counter and filled out the envelope. Literally 15 seconds later I go back to his counter for a stamp and he says I'm closed. O_o what?? Listen. If you were so anxious to close why did you call me in the first place. (With your ghetto, unprofessional demeanor?? Smh. ) I asked him that! He said well "I was trying to help you but you wasn't ready" the whole neck roll and all. His coworker then handed him a stack full of envelopes and said. "Don't send people to the wall hold this at your station." O_o HOLD ON. Do we know each other? What's the hostility for? Anyways. My mother raised me right I wasn't going to act a fool in public. We really should be able to post negative stars. I think that I have found the absolute worst run post office in the country. It isn't just a few isolated bad experiences, I wish I could isolate a GOOD experience here the Westbury NY 11590. Behind the counter, the workers talk to eachother as if the customers weren't there, they talk ABOUT the customers. Like Elaine on Seinfeld suspected the Korean girls in the nail salon were talking about her... except they are speaking english and pointing and laughing. wtf? My family and I were there Yesterday to renew my sons passport's. We were online for a while and when our turn came ,We were told to wait and they will give a priority to the persons who have online appointment first, Because we didn't have any appointments for its passport renewal. Unluckily after, a while waiting in line ,Another lady/ women burst from inside one of the room told us that because we didn't have any online appointment our sons passport renewal can't be process. (* We were told to wait in line by others women who actually worked there and willing to assist us to do do.) We would like to complaint toward a Caucasian women with dark hair ( brunet) who was do rude by telling us to go home and make online appointment in order to be serve. We felt so sorry for others staffs who were work there, Because, this women behaviour has caused the whole branch reputstion. read more

I am writing this review because I think the service has gone downhill over the past couple of years. I often get mail delivered to me with other addresses on them. I also recieve the mail of my neighbors, including one that moved away. They filed a change of address but the post office is not forwarding the mail to their new address! Cant the mail man read numbers and addresses? Sometimes I wonder, as of recently some of my mail has been returned to the sender, and not delivered to my address. One of which was a bank statement, which my bank (Astoria Federal) charged me $15 for. Going to the Post Office isn't a great experience either. The lines are long and the service poor. Many people using money wiring services often clog up the lines, often making those purchasing stamps or sending packages to wait on line for well over 15 minutes. They dont have enough help and are poorly organized. So I often use the other post offices to send my packages or purchase stamps. But when it comes to mail delivery I have no choice, but to continue to put up with getting other people's mail and having to write "not at this address" on them. And even then I sometimes get their mail again! There needs to be an investigation by the Postmaster General of the 11590 Westbury Post Office. I hope this review will shine some light on the problems of my post office so they can be corrected. read more

do I have to give them a star? They received a package from UPS on 5/21/2013 at 11:58 AM and now they can't find it, even though it has a tracking number! What does this tell you? Someone there took it no, stole it! I called and they were going to check and call me back in 5 minutes that was at 10AM and it is now 1L00 PM and I'm still waiting for the call. They don't deserve even 1 star., bunch of lazy bum delivery guys working in this branch. Everytime I have an international express mail coming in they always leave a note that they tried to deliver., which is a total bullcrap because I work from home and track all my shipments and knows exactly when to expect them. The delivery person sneaks in the notice knowing that our Carle place personnel will pick it up for re-delivery the next day.. They are so lazy that they keep doing this without considering that customers are waiting for their shipments! I didn't pay extra for my shipments to be delayed because of these incompetent and lazy workers in westbury location. If this continues, I'm pretty sure they will lose business and shutdown just like other USPS locations in the island. Shame on you people! read more

The first experience was so great I decided to wait to post a review until i've been there at least 5 times. It's everything I want from a post office.. Small, fast service, and friendly. This is hands down the worst post office I have ever dealt with. I come from a town that had a good post office. Now in westbury, Amazon packages get lost even with tracking numbers, this happened 3 times. 2 ebay issues. I've called the post-office and the person on the other end (will not mention his name) pretty much admitted how bad it has gotten there. I wish my mail would come from a neighboring town rather then westbury. There is probably mail I'm suppose to get and never do. I have zero % confidence in them. Kudos to Bobby and the Westbury Post Office at 360 Maple Ave Westbury NY, the ONLY Post Office that is kind enough to pick up the phone! I mailed a package at the Hicksville NY PO...(UGH) Friday 6/8/18 and the clerk who was so unfriendly supposedly scanned the package in. I left and didn't know where the tracking number was so I went back in and asked her. She looked at me as if I was stupid or something put a little X by the "label#" and handed it back without saying a word. Monday 6/10/18 I went on the USPS website and cannot find any info regarding this T# saying it was never scanned in. I called Hicksville PO several times, (they never pick up the phone BTW). I called Farmingdale PO they didn't pick up either, as a last resort I then called the 800 # on my receipt and was on hold for 45 minutes, no one picked up!!!! I was so angry now I called the Westbury PO on Maple Ave and Bobby picked up. I always end up calling this branch because as I said they are the Only PO that picks up the phone! He was kind, polite, knowledgeable and very helpful. He took the tracking # tried and saw that package was never scanned in. If I could give less stars , I would . I am writing in regards to this post office and the carriers. This week, my regular carrier is out. What a disaster . The first day was fine - we had a carrier from Garden City who said that westbury post office is a MESS .Then , no mail - didn't receive mail two days in a row, and when I called on the 2nd day, they said that the carrier came down our street but I had no mail. What about my outgoing mail which was never picked up , I asked? Within 1/2 hour a truck comes to my house ( with 2 carriers inside) and brings my mail ( two days worth) This was at 8pm mind you but at this point , I wasn't complaining. But then they tell me that my packages will not go out today!!!! So I ended up taking my packages to Hicksville . Please mr. Postmaster - I run a business out of my home and when I do not have mail delivery or pick up , it's not good. I ship packages daily . I am considering switching my shipping to fed ex. At least I know they will come and my customers will receive what they ordered. Tonight , I received my mail at 9pm and the carrier picks a fight with my husband because we were annoyed that he didn't show up till late. I am in bed at 9pm!! . Are we kidding? Wow! I am surprised by all of the negative reviews for this post office, so I guess I will be dissenting when I write this review. Since this is the closest post office to my home, I usually find myself here when I need to send out a package due to this location's convenience. While this post office is usually busy and doesn't always have the most help, I have found that they usually do their best to serve the customers based on my many experiences here. Most recently, I came here last Friday afternoon when I needed to send out a package that I sold on eBay to its buyer in the Midwest by Christmas. When I arrived here, I was expecting it to be crowded as it was one week before Christmas and while there were quite a few people waiting, they proved to be good at anticipating large crowds as there were postal workers at all four counters helping customers. Because of this, I was pleasantly surprised when I waited less than five minutes. When I was helped, I got a Large Flat Rate Priority Package and I found the lady who helped me was pleasant, as she was friendly and efficient. The package cost about $20, which was what I expected. If there are demerits about this post office, it would be that this location is showing its age a bit compared to some other USPS branches and the fact that there were a couple of USPS branches that were slightly better than this one, but they are smaller and did not have the crowds that this branch did. Overall, I would return to this USPS branch again when I need to as it has worked fine for me and is convenient. read more

I can't explain how much this post office has gone down the tubes. I live in Westbury and have always used this post office for my postal needs. I have a PO Box here to make sure that my mail gets to me safe, whether its my car insurance renewal docs or packages I've ordered online. For some reason though, getting my packages has become a huge deal. My packages have been given to other people, I've had other people's mail put into my box (where the PO Box numbers are NOT even close) or my packages have sat there in some dark corner for weeks without anyone putting a slip in my box letting me know that its there, even though my tracking information says it has been delivered. When you try to get answers, the workers and/or manager look at you as if they're deers in headlights or they blame their coworkers for the constant screw ups. I've filed several complaints regarding my lost mail over the past few months and it seems to have no effect. Its almost like they don't understand how losing someone's mail is not cool. The only reason I keep giving the place a chance is because it wasn't always this HORRIBLE. I have to let the denial go as well as my support and find another post office to give my money too. read more
