Went to the West Sac Post Office a few months ago for walk-in passport services for two of us. The parking is a little confusing as there are two lots and you can only enter the building from one. But once we got the correct lot it was all good. Arrived early and there was already a line, but we still got in for our appointment in under an hour. Once we sat down, the appointment went very quickly and smoothly. Be sure to have all your CORRECT documents, photos, and payment ready to go ahead of time - it's not the Post Office's fault that people don't do their research! I turned 4 years of taxes in to a usps office January 2st, it was certified mail i was supposed to see it scanned everywhere from start to finish till it hits Sacramento's tax board offices, this was the last location my taxes went before they went missing and i had to report it missing track # 70220410000114700432, because someone stole or either destroyed my super important mail, the irs had then charged me at the highest bracket at 45% taxed, i make low income family of 4 why am i being taxed like a millionair why i had turned in my taxes u cant even trust the governments own mailing system, because they failed to do there part irs had to step in for me and do my taxes for me which was almost 2 thousand more. read more

On September 9, I visited the post office to apply for a new passport for my five-year-old son. Unfortunately, the experience was very disappointing due to the customer service I received. From the start, I informed the clerk that I needed the DS-11 form since this would be my son's second time applying for a passport. Once we completed the application, I checked the box indicating that my son's passport book was lost. At that point, the clerk became upset and began arguing with me, saying I should have told her earlier and rudely insisting that I needed a new form. Throughout the process, she was audibly huffing and puffing, and her tone was unnecessarily hostile--especially considering I was there with my young child. When I calmly asked why she was being rude, she raised her voice and continued arguing. Her coworker stood by without intervening until I asked him directly to step in. I never raised my voice back and maintained respect and composure, but her behavior was completely unprofessional and out of line. There was also a significant language barrier, which made communication more difficult and escalated the situation further. I later spoke to a supervisor at a different location who took note of my complaint and said he would address it. However, this experience left me with no confidence in returning to this location for future services. Customer service should always be professional, especially when serving families and children. read more

I love this post office! I usually drop off my mail with pre-printed labels, but I never see a line between 9-10:30 am. The staff are very friendly and know how to do their jobs well, lines never back up like at other stores. It is spacious, clean and quiet inside. read more

This is the best post office around! The staff here went above and beyond to find my package on which the sender did not include my box number. The staff took down my information and called me when they found it. The staff is always knowledgeable and quick with getting you in and out whether or not there is a line. This location is close to my house and in a nice area, so it is convenient for me and comfortable to visit anytime. They do sell out of collectible stamps quickly, so take their advice on getting them early or online when possible. read more

I really tried to give this place a chance but they continued to fail every time. Customer service is on the lower end. Many times I've come and there's only one person at the window that takes anywhere between 5-10 minutes per customer. When coming for passport appointments, the agent was never present on the scheduled time and arrives 20 to 30+ minutes late. Set up an appointment to get my passport. Had to book a month out. When I got here, the only passport worker was on lunch, so I had to wait a half an hour, but as soon as he got back, he made the entire process easy. I didn't fully have everything completed, but he patiently guided me through the whole process. We completed the paperwork, he took my photo and I was in/out of there in 5-10 minutes You HAVE to make an appointment at this location. There were a couple of people who tried to walk-in, but were denied because there were a queue of people waiting. read more

My review is based off of the service of the employee. Today my mother and I went to this usps Industrial West Sacramento location to mail tobacco products as a gift. We looked up how to mail tobacco products before hand. We were met with Clerk 10, Rose. First, Rose tried telling us we were not allowed to mail cigarettes. I explained that on the USPS website it says you can. She proceeded to call I'm guessing a coworker or supervisor on the phone. She said rudely to the person on the phone, "I've been here for 30 something years and I've never heard of this. I don't know were she is getting this information.." she was talking about me clearly as I was standing right there, trying to explain that it came from their specific website, she ignored me. At the end of the phone call, she was able to mail out our tobacco products, including the cigarettes. My problem was how she handled our situation, the entire time we were respectful, she was wrong and rude and should have apologized. Although she may not have experienced this type of product being mailed in her 30 something years being there, she was wrong and should Not make customers feel the way she made us feel. read more

Zero Stars. For over six years I've been mailing my monthly medical payment from Antioch to Sacramento, and this USPS is a regional sorting center. About three years ago I started receiving late notices, so I started using certified mail. Per the receipt, the USPS always provided a three or four day delivery estimate. I don't think any of my payments have been delivered in three days, maybe a few in four, and the average is now an entire week. Twice last year my letters were lost, which caused me to drive to Sacramento to make the payment in person. I had to cancel my original checks, with one being located weeks later. The USPS is once again on a roll in 2019, with all four payments this year taking 8-10 days to be delivered. And this last payment, has not been delivered after 14 days. The certified mail for some reason lingers at this location. My medical has already been canceled once this year, and in two days I'm again driving to Sacramento to make the payment in person. I'll again need to pay for bridge toll, gas, parking and then cancel the lost check. Despite my complaints, the USPS always sticks their head in the sand. My medical plan is from the early 20th century, and doesn't allow direct payments/transfers. They are also a big part of the problem, but the Black Hole in West Sacramento needs to be plugged. read more

My experience here is limited, I wanted to make sure a package and some letters got underway as quickly as possible so I brought them here. The place was nearly empty when I arrived, service was prompt and efficient. I like that parking is available right out front, I like the automatically opening doors, these are things that benefit me as I am disabled and have a service dog, what I didn't like at all was the most stupid sign I have ever seen regarding Service Animals. In regards to that, it says: "No animals except sight seeing dogs." Oh really, only dogs that are tourists? Not, Seeing Eye Dogs aka Guide Dogs for the Blind as would be more correct but also wrong because the ADA pertains to more disabilities for which there are Assistance Dogs than just for the blind. The ADA is a Federal Law and this is a Federal Facility, I think positing this kind of stupidity is unacceptable, not to mention ridiculous, and, if they tried to enforce it, ILLEGAL. read more

I went in to get a new passport, as my passport has expired. I told the lady in the passport office "I need to get a new passport" and she tells me to fill out the brown form. She was speaking in her language to her coworker when I walked in (I seemed to have interrupted her), then she went back to speaking to him in her language. When I was almost done filling out the form, the guy in the office tells me that I need to fill out the blue form. It seemed like she was too busy to care to help me when answering a customer's question should have been her priority. I guess this is what I get for going to a new post office and not the usual one where I usually receive good customer service. read more

I came here for the first time yesterday, I was bringing in my passport application. I didn't realize I needed an appointment. I was at the counter trying to make sure my stack of paperwork was orderly, the clerk just stared at me so I didn't realize I was in the wrong place. She asked if this was a renewal I said no, she tried telling me 3 times that I had a renewal when I told her 3 times no, it's an application. She then asked if I had an appointment. I said no, I didn't know I needed one, and when I tried to call ahead of time, I didn't get anyone on the phone, I got the automated message. She then proceeded to yell at me, "YOU NEED TO SCHEDULE AN APPOINTMENT I CAN'T PROCESS THIS PAPERWORK FOR YOU I DON'T KNOW ANYTHING ABOUT PASSPORTS." It was truly alarming, and startling. It would have been very simple for her to say, 'oh I'm sorry, you need to schedule an appointment and you can do so here...xyz' but she didn't explain where I need to go to schedule an appointment or any information. I understand USPS workers are often worked to the bone, and I'm sure they see their fair share of difficult people or stressful days. But I was nothing but kind calm and polite, and there was no one in line behind me. I can't imagine the quality of customer service on a day when they're busy. Yikes. read more

I was here today with my brother for a passport.. the appointment was at 3:45pm. I just sat and watched Raymond treating all of us like if we were animals.. he was so rude.. 4:10 he said he was going on a brake and would come back later and continue helping 3:15 appointments. He said he was rude because they're short staff and I could go to consumer service and do a complaint pretty much making fun of the whole situation. This makes me so upset I truly feel sorry for everyone in here just sitting afraid to say something. As tax payers and citizens we deserve to be treated better no matter what the situation is. Dont mail anything important from this post office. I mailed a return receipt item to Cincinnati, OH and the return receipt card came back 2 days later from this same location. Two weeks ago I mailed an item to the Franchise Tax Board certified priority. The next day I checked the status and it said it was delivered to the post office where I mailed from. read more

This is absolutely a horrible customer service experience . Scheduled an appointment for 11am for a passport. Arrived there is one person working, which is fine. 11:40 rolls around and there is a family without their applications completed who say they also have an 11 am appointment. He takes their photos staples it to the application and says go down the hall to the post office windows tell them Raymond sent you and I'm going on break. I say so we also have an 11am appointment he said you have to wait until I take my 15 minute break. I walk down the hall to the window and ask if they can help and explain that there is one family ahead of me who is coming but could they assist. She tells me she's only going to do one person, but that we can sit in the waiting room of the passport office. I say I made an 11 o'clock appointment because I am working. They say do you want to reschedule...we have to help the people on the lobby. Well there are NO People in line which I say. Frustrated it is now noon the guy, Raymond has not come back. Postal employees learn from EDD. You keep fucking over the customer and you will eventually be held accountable. read more

I came in on a Saturday because during the week it's impossible. Anyway, it opens at 10 am get there by 9 am or even 7 am haha. I got there at 9 and I had 8 people in front of me. One couple with two kids (maybe?) camped out. They had food, lawn chairs and the mom was putting on her makeup. Once it's open we received numbers and there was 1 worker. Ugh!!!! Not to mention there were families of 4 and 5 that needed a passport but had nothing prepared. Each family took easily 20 mins. Please have everything prepared....like me =) Application, passport picture, birth certificate, ID and credit card. I got to the desk and i was done in less than 2 minutes. I came here to apply for my passport, because apparently if you have to get a passport, you'll have to come to this office if you live in Davis, or West Sacramento. There was one lady helping people, she hadn't even had time to go on her break, was responsible for helping people fill out their forms, take pictures, process payment, everything... and she worked slowly. When I got here, I was initially impressed with big, beautiful, and very clean building. Then, I walked to this poorly lit room, took a number and started the waiting game. The lady would say next (instead of saying the next number like J20 or H99) so a few times people got confused about who was to go next. At any rate, I waited here a while, like 3 hours and 14 minutes kind of a wait. If you are going to have to get a passport or renew it, here's my suggestion: have everything ready: your picture, birth certificate, copy of it, your id, your debit card or check, your form filled out (one sided print/2 pages), and if you can simply apply early enough so you can renew by mail because let me tell you, it's NOT going to be fun coming here in person. ****passport application review only ***** I decided to come in Saturday for my passport application processing. Came in at 10 am and I was the first one. USPS staff came in right on time at 10:30 am. By then there were around 6 other parties after me. As soon as we were let in, we were asked to pull the ticket number and wait for the turn. I had all the documents already filled, photo taken beforehand and copies made so in and out in less than 10 minutes. They do have application forms that can be filled right then and there. They also take passport photos and you can make copies too but it's always better to go well prepared. They don't have public washroom so that can be a problem if you have to wait longer. read more

IF YOU ARE GOING IN THE AFTERNOON BE AWARE THEY STOP ACCEPTING APPLICATIONS EARLY!!! I went at 4:30PM on a Wednesday, it says online that the passport office is open until 6:30PM so I figured two hours was plenty of time since I had all my forms, photos and documents ready (this was probably naive in retrospect). Walked in at 4:30 and saw a sign that said "no longer accepting passport applications". A teenager who was sitting there waiting said "yeah the same thing happened to me yesterday, I guess he puts that sign out every day at around 3:30-4". I have no other complaints other than I wish I had known that earlier. I have to go back on a weekend and hope for the best. read more

My package was TAMPERED with and STOLEN from at this location. I know because I received an empty box with an "apology" from USPS while the AirTag on my item clearly states my item is still here. It had been an impossible pain in the ass to attempt to retrieve my item, and as of now, they continue withholding it. The employee I spoke with at the customer service help desk was rude and the only person who even bothered to look for my item I had to drag from another USPS location in Sacramento. They have no management at this location, or seemingly anyone who knows a single thing about anything. Now my item, if it is reported found at all, will be sent to Atlanta to their lost and found department. Likely to be tampered with again. Doubtful I will ever get my item. Considering trying to obtain a search warrant or something from the local police because they wouldn't let me look for it myself, even though I know the location is inside the building, but they claim is inside/behind a machine they "can't" shut off. I understand there probably backed up due to the circumstances but I think this is exaggerated. Sadly, the only reason I came here was because I shipped a package that is lost. According to my tracking info, it's been sitting here for 32 days now. Customer service claims it never left this building. The post office it was supposed to go to told me it never left this building after I opened a lost package case. So I went here and they say it left this building. I'm told by the ladies here that I need to go back to the office I dropped it off at originally. So now I have an insurance claim against usps. Something really needs to be done about this place, and the usps in general. Everyone at usps is so dang quick to point the finger. Nobody actually gives a crap about you or your packages. Every step of the way so far I've been told "Our department doesn't (or can't) look that up (or find that out)" and I'm tired of it. I don't care if it cost $10 to mail a letter, I'm going to ups.
