It's two weeks before Christmas and they have only one person working the counter. I tried to use the self service but the scanner wouldn't recognize the size of my package and it was taking too long to figure it out. This was after I already waited behind a woman who was trying to figure it out for 10 minutes. I mailed two very small packages for $7.50 each which seems like a crime. When did that get so expensive? The contents of what I sent weren't worth that but nonetheless, I had to send them. I recommend adding a couple more people to help out the poor clerk dealing with the huge line at Christmas. read more

Had taxes overnighted from Nevada to Sacramento somehow my package ended up in Los Angeles for four days I submitted a case no one ever told me what happened package. Now the package is going to be delivered while Im out of town so I asked to have a mail hold and then continue delivery on Monday. I checked the ring camera. My mail was delivered Except for the one package I was waiting for so I asked to reschedule delivery and was told they can't. Now I have to go pick it up. what's is going on with our Postal Service? It is absolutely terrible so now instead of having my package re-delivered. I have to take time to go to the land Park location. Stand in line for 30 minutes to get a package that should've been delivered to me on the 15th. My taxes are now late. The phone is NEVER answered at this location, no matter how many times you call or what time of day during business hours you call. I have a feeling that they turn the ringer off to avoid having to speak to customers, which forces customers to have to drive to the facility and wait in a long line to ask for help with mail not being delivered to my house, or it possibly being delivered to the wrong address, which happens WAY too often. read more

I get done what I need to get done here. Line is usually long, so plan your time accordingly. I usually like to have my letters and packages pre stamped and addressed, so I can just chuck them into the chute without having to deal with the people at the front. I have no idea who they have hired. This has been going on for MONTHS. My mailman mixes up my packages all the time. It's been messed up so much that we even requested our packages to be delivered to our door step. That fixed the issue for only about 3 weeks. It said my packaged was delivered in a locker. My locker was empty. It had no key for the bigger one. Not to mention one of the keys has been missing for months. I want my package ASAP. This post office is the most unorganized, messiest, and the workers are literally so unhelpful and rude. I used to live in San Jose and the post office was so helpful and nice and got back to me the day OF, this post office doesn't even answer their phones. The workers are the rudest people I've come across ever. Like ever in my life. I think they should all quit and find something that makes them happy in their lives cause obviously the post office isn't doing it for them. I paid for priority shipping and my item is at the post office but the workers refused to help me because they were so "busy" what is the point of paying for priority shipping ? The post office in South Land Park has great customer service. Even on a very busy day recently, the staff was friendly and smiling and got through a long line of people sending packages quickly. On a separate trip after the holidays, I needed to mail an envelope with various cards to the same address. I used my own postage, but was afraid it might not be enough. One of the staff members in the hallway was able to tell me that I had more than enough postage. Great customer service! read more

The only reason I'm doing 2 stars instead of 1 is that I understand things are tough during covid. The line was out the door with at least 20 people. I used self service because I didnt need to go to the counter but the door for the parcel drop off was jammed shut because the other side was full. I decided to leave my package on the counter in the main building as I have done before and there were so many packages piled up I could barely fit mine. There was literally no one at the counter. I believe 1 person may have been working in the entire building. I understand that these are hard times and I've chosen to continue to support the usps, but this was ridiculous. read more

I just left the post office and had a bad experience. I was dropping off a couple of packages for my mother. She is sending perfume that she sold online. I bought prepaid labels for GROUND shipping given the restrictions for flammable liquids which cannot be shipped by air. I also put a limited quantities sticker on the box which is required when shipping these sorts of items. When I got to the window the young white guy working there said "Do you have the paperwork for these?" When he saw the stickers. I said I didn't, I was sure I did not need to fill out any. He responded "Oh no, you have to fill out paperwork for these. You can find the forms on USPS.com." Then I told him I dropped off the same type of package the day before and nobody asked for any paperwork. He replied " Oh they must have made a mistake." I didn't want to be pushy so I left. My mother who was waiting in the car decided to go in herself. A different postal worker helped her and accepted the packages. In the USPS website, on the page about class 3 flammable liquids (perfumes are included in this category), publication 52, 343.3b: "For surface transportation, parcels containing mailable Class 3 materials must be plainly and durably marked on the address side with an approved DOT Limited Quantity marking (see Exhibit 325.4). Surface shipments bearing Limited Quantity ground markings are not required to include the proper shipping name and identification number. A shipper's declaration for dangerous goods is not required for mailable Class 3 materials sent via surface transportation." My guess is that the first worker did not even look at the prepaid labels which clearly say Parcel Select Ground and did not even bother asking so he assumed, wrongly, that I wanted to send them by air mail or that it was a different type of item. Even worse, he accused his coworkers of making mistakes when he was the one making a mistake. Or maybe he is new and has not received proper training. Either way, it was a bad experience. USPS needs to provide better training and hire people who are more careful when dealing with customers. read more

I have not been to a post office for a long time. I always feel so stress to go into one, so complicate, confuse and long line most of the time. Plus, the staff would always seems a little irritable. However, this time, I came into this office 2 days in a row to mail some important documentations, and Liz first day and Daniel 2nd day were so nice and very patience!! Today I went into get a refund for a Priority Mail Express package that did not arrive within the Guaranteed time frame. It was 4 days late. After a wait in line and then a wait for the processing, they told me that it was not refundable. The clerk did not know why and she checked with another employee,Peter. She was told that since I used the self service kiosk in the post office when I mailed it, it was not refundable. This result is terrible and dishonest. This is THE WORST POST OFFICE. Our mailbox is broken, and for some reason, they will hold the mail and NOT THE PACKAGES. Two of my packages were delivered to random places at different times, and the inept worker was like, well, they left them at the front porch and in the mailbox. I dunno how they left them in the mailbox because our mailbox is currently flat on the ground because someone side-swiped it with their car. I HATE dealing with these people literally walk in say hi blank stares. If you hate dealing with the public, perhaps get a job where you do not have to be face to face with them. There is only one worker, a tall white man, who has any sense of customer service. If you get helped by him, you can tell he at least makes an effort. Hard pass to everyone that works here; otherwise. When you ask to speak to the supervisor, they're "busy," and they'll have you write your number down and never call you. My wedding ring has been taken from INSIDE the South Land Park post office. Use extreme caution in sending to or from this location. The story: my husband sent my wedding ring via certified mail to LA for repair. It was supposed to arrive at the house Thursday. We recieved a note at the door that the carrier tried to deliver but no one was home- which sure is interesting considering my husand was home all day and there was no knock at the door. Hubs went to the post office at South Land Park this morning to pick it up, only to be told that the package was now missing. Several employees reported to him that they "saw it around yesterday" but it is now missing. They told him to come back later in the day, which he did, only to be told the following: the package is missing, it is now the THIRD package to go missing from this location in recent days, and that there is now an open Office of Inspector General report on this post office location. As of this writing, no further steps or followup actions have been described to us other than, "we will call to update you as we are investigating". To say I am devastated in the potential loss of one of my most sentimental possessions is an understatement. read more
