Quality of employees working here leave a lot to be desired. I came to pick up a package and rang the doorbell for service like I'm supposed to. The lady opens the window and me taking that as I can tell her what I'm there for proceed to say, "Hello. I'm here to pick up a package." This lady then tells me in the rudest voice possible, excuse me, I'm helping another customer. To be honest I was quite shocked with that. Especially since it's my first time going to this pos office. I don't like rude people, and of course I say something back to her. If you're gonna be rude to me then I'm going to be rude to you. Customer Service is very poor at this location. I had an issue regarding a clerk at this annex. I asked a different clerk if I could speak with the Supervisor who should be the spokes person, responsible to provide exceptional service, communication, and explanations to customers. Customer service is piss poor. One star is too much. They have a door that they always keep closed unless they are actually talking to a customer. So you cannot see if they are actually working on helping customers. This is very convenient for them, and bad for the experience of the customer. Go to this USPS if you enjoy torture, they take 30 years to answer either door and in fact cancel your appointments day off by calling you at 6 am before the sunrise, so that you can't answer and go in person and waste your time. If you want your appointment cancelled at the very last minute, this is the place to be! Don't bother wasting your time at this USPS Post office. Employees fail to communicate properly with customers. Not only do they have an attitude, they fail to let you know that they have cancelled your appointment that you set weeks ago until the day before. I could have easily rescheduled and gone to any other USPS office weeks before, but since they waited until the day before to let me know they're cancelling my appointment, I now have to wait another week to have my passport taken care of. On top of that, they let me know that they're cancelling appointments for the next two weeks as the employee will be on vacation. Not only were they aware of the employee taking a leave of absence, they willingly waited until the last minute to cancel the appointment. read more

The woman who assisted me had every right to refuse me for the dozen mistakes I made but instead they worked with me to correct everything. they went above and beyond to ensure I got my passport all figured out. They have terrible service. I had to go to this office because my mailbox lock would not turn and my key became permanently stuck. They instructed me that I had to pay $60 cash in order for them to change the lock and replace my keys. This neighborhood mail station has several mail compartments and belongs to the U.S.P.O, however I have to pay for the maintenance of their equipment. Now, it has been over two weeks with zero mail service. They already took my $$, so let's see how long it takes them to get the lock installed and to be given keys. If is not resolved by tomorrow, I will file a complaint with the Postmaster. read more

This place has been terrible for years, I'm here 15 minutes before the operation hours say closed and doors are locked, my package is now locked here for the weekend and I was home for the initial delivery so no need for them to do a redelivery in the first place just laziness of the mail carrier who didn't want to check my apartment and couldn't find a box to put it in. Terrible service for years now as I said this is not the first time something like this has happened to me with these mail carriers in specific. If you have problems with your mailman i suggest you file a complaint online in their website its tru email. Cos if you tried calling your local post office they wont pick up the phone. Believe me i tried calling a few times no one answers. But if you do it online you will get a service request number and the local post office will call you back. We have a very rude unprofessional mailman delivering in our area. He is new. He leaves notes in our mailbox saying do not block mailbox but he will not leave our packages or mail just his note which he obviously has access to our mailbox cos he was able to left it there. Been going on for days ever since he was assigned our street. When i get the chance to talk to him and ask for our mail he brushed me off saying we keep on blocking our mailbox and didnt give me any. I followed him a few houses down and when i started recording thats the only time that he handed me mail but no packages. I saw him deliver mail to my other neighbors although there are cars parked by the mailbox. There's street parking so we cant do anything about who parks by our mailbox. He also delivers packages to my neighbors door so it means he is not limited to delivering just inside the mailbox. But no. Not with our packages. Theres no notice and attempt of redelivery or dropping off at our front door whatsoever. Set a appointment 3 weeks from advance to have my passport photo taken. Employee calls my cell 3hrs before my appointment. Employee tells me my appointment has been canceled. His excuse is that the photo guy called out of work today. He told me that the San Marcos and Carlsbad location takes in walks ins at 3pm but they only take 4 clients. He told me its first come first serve. This "office" is a joke. They have you wait in a weird room and ring a bell to talk to anyone and get help, but they don't answer the bell. You'll be standing and ringing the bell for more than 15 minutes all while hearing people on the other side of the doors talking and laughing. When you're finally "helped" the workers are rude. This is a small location, only has about 5 parking spaces up front. It's primarily for package/mail pick up and drop off. They do not sell stamps. Had an appointment for a passport for my child. When we arrived the older lady with black hair behind the counter taking passport applications was immediately rude and spoke harshly to me even before I could tell her I had an appointment. She decided to argue with me as I showed her my appointment confirmation number and email. She said the appointment was under someone else's name and spent 10 minutes arguing with me and then said she didn't have time to take my appointment. I've never had to deal with someone that was so combative and customer service. I was very taken back with her attitude and the way she was speaking, especially in front of my child. I really hope the post office looks into how she is treating customers and her professionalism. This woman completely wasted my appointment time and had to reschedule. This is not a "real" post office. They don't have a retail counter, but do have a weighing computer. You can drop outgoing mail here, but you won't be able to get the same assistance or services you do at a regular post office. I went here for a passport application. I ended up talking baseball with the associate while he was going through the paperwork. He made the experience way less painless. I had forgotten to get a check ready or a money order before I went in but luckily they were able to make me a money order for 1.20 charge. I'd recommend getting your pictures done down the road at the Rite-Aid, if you can't do them yourself. They cost 15 at the post office and 8 something at the Rite-Aid. The passport application is a little tedious, not like having to deal with the DMV, but annoying nonetheless. This associate who dealt with me really helped make it a tolerable and even enjoyable experience in the office. read more

Walking into this post office felt like walking into the twilight zone. What is the deal here? Two doors with buttons to press for service, and no clear place to stand in line. The lobby had like 10 people waiting. I press the button once and 15 minutes later I had no response. A lady walked in line and said your gonna need to press that button 3 times to get service. After about 30 minutes and pressing the button twice I finally spoke to someone that worked at the post office. During that time a family came out of the other door, saw the line, and said good luck. Uh oh... Sure enough another post office worker finally emerged and said, "wow a line!?" Totally clueless. Then the worker proceeded to tell the next family in line that the appointment they made a month ago is now cancelled because she's only one person and has too much to do... The parking lot was another joke. You're going to need to park in the fire lane or else you won't be able to park, period. The whole post office needs to be torn down and rebuilt with a lobby that makes some sort of sense and a whole new staff. Time to clean house at that place immediately. The USPS representative who served us, Evelia, truly went above and beyond our expectations to help us with our baby's passport application. She recognized that we were having a tough morning and showed us kindness, compassion and provided a level of service that we have never experienced at any USPS branch, nor will ever likely experience again. Very rude people from the moment I walked in the door. They also lost my package and said they would call me when they found it. They never called me, never attempted to deliver, and then decided to send it back to Seattle, Washington. They couldn't give me any reason as to why they sent it back or why they never called me like they said they would. This isn't a full service post office, rather just a pickup spot and drop off for labeled, postage attached packages. Be mindful of the business operating hours. If you are late by 1 minute, the door will be locked. I know because it's happened to me. I rushed straight from work just to get to a locked door. (!!!!!) When and if you get there during normal business hours, you have to knock or ring the bell on the horse stable split door. It's like it's a secret room or something. Then someone opens the half door and you show your pickup slip or other item and they go back into this huge warehouse sorting room to retrieve your package. You have to show photo ID to get your package. Pretty simple. Also noted in the barebones lobby are address change/moving packets (they have tons of coupons inside including a lowes 10% off coupon!), mail hold slips, and applications for passports. I needed a package ASAP after delayed shipping. I got a text late at night that it arrived at the USPS so as soon as they open, I went to the store in hopes to pick it up before it went out for delivery so I would have it in time for my event. A guy named Zack opened the side door and asked me what I needed, the blonde lady at the main window intercepted and pretty much told me that wasn't going to happen but Zack said, "I have time, I'll look for it."
