I understood the technicalities- but the associates talk around their customers, not really to them & when they do- they don't make eye contact. This Staples location is super convenient, with tons of helpful services under one roof. I've used it for Amazon returns (just scan your QR code, quick and easy; there usually isn't a long wait). Decided to do an Amazon return here, It was closest to my house. I believe I received a $10 off coupon as well when I did the return. Would I use it ? Probably not. The Amazon return area was very nice, no line and friendly service. I did buy one item and when I proceeded to the register I wasn't even greeted by the guy working there, he continued to have a conversation with his other coworker while he checked me out. The employee working the Amazon return counter today was incredibly rude and came across as very condescending. Just because customers are new to the process doesn't give anyone the right to speak to them with an attitude. Not everyone reads every line of fine print and terms and conditions when signing up for something or returns most people don't. A little patience and basic customer service would go a long way. Customers are simply trying to complete their returns, not be made to feel stupid for asking questions. Must be terrible knowing that you're building with fill up with boxes. read more

I was really surprised by how rude everyone was from the moment I walked in the door. I had an Amazon return which is seems to be what everyone else is having issues with too. There isn't a sign when you walk in there's just stickers on the floor which isn't the first place you look when you're carrying boxes. So when I asked the first employee where the Amazon returns was he rudely cut me off and just pointed at the other side of the store and made some snarky remark about how there's a whole place for the returns now. When I arrived at returns I found an aggressively labeled return area and the counter clerk was actively being rude to the customer he was helping. When I put my items on the counter he barked at me for the return code and then didn't say anything so I put my phone down and he snapped "uh I need to scan every code twice" he then made me stand in silence as he transferred my return one piece at a time to a plastic bag and then came back with the phone and looked at me annoyed as if I should've had the next code ready for him to scan. After I gave him the second code he rudely exaggerated scanning everything really fast then went "you're all done" and as soon as I turned to walk away he went "uh you need to recycle this at home" and pointed at the box I had brought my returns in. I asked if they just started doing Amazon returns since it seems like every employee in the store was annoyed by my presence and he snapped at me yet again and asked me to repeat myself then when I did, he cut me off and said "uh no we've been doing them for a while" so I guess it's not that they're having a learning curve with the Amazon returns, it's just they all just have horrible customer service skills. I have a feeling the kid who helped me was the manager by how everyone in the store had that nasty attitude. Hopefully someone at corporate steps in at this store. read more

I stood waiting for a few minutes for someone to help me while the Customer Service rep stared blankly into a computer and drank from her water bottle. My experience with Staples physical stores is not good. They seem to be just an Amazon return store now. I have found this to be the case at any of the stores I have visited. They seem to be understaffed always - no one asks if you need help. Vista was just my most recent experience. I ordered online but never received a notice that it was ready. No one answered the phone the numerous times I called. I spent about an hour trying to get through and this was several hours after I placed the order. Online shopping with delivery may be the way to go but if you need something the same day I will be going to Best Buy or Walmart. read more

He had lots of helpful tips. *use the rewards application for knowledge of deals and to get your reward credit. *los of merch for home & office Cons: *some items for sale were broken and/or was dusty & dirty. Ie storage containers and luggage on the store floor. Many deals and pricing signs were clearly marked throughout the store. There was ample parking at 2:45 on a Friday afternoon. I had four Amazon returns. And that's no fun even when it's not the holiday season. The place was bustling. There was UPS drivers walking in and out, Postal Service couriers walking in and out and the Amazon return/ pick up line had a few people in it. A young lady named Kaitlyn was so extremely helpful and upbeat and knowledgeable. It just made all the stress of my transaction melt away. I hope she is treated well by her coworkers and all of her customers because she is really making a difference there for people that interact with her. I went into staples today as soon as they opened at 11am to quickly purchase some double sided tape. I head to the check out line where 3 people have formed one line in front of me. I get in line. As 5 minutes go by, 3 more people stand in line behind me. A second employee walked past this line of now 7 people, but seemed occupied with a task. When he seemed to finish this task at the printing station, i thought surely he's coming over to help this poor person on register. He wasn't. He started walking to the back of the store to do another task and ignore the 7 people in line, so i flagged him down. This employee formed a second check out line, turns out me and three other people in line were actually waiting in the amazon returns line. whoops! By the time i waited for the man in front of me to checkout, i greeted the man at the checkout counter that i had flagged down. He didn't greet me back. He then asked me "were you also waiting in the wrong line?", which he said in a condescending tone. Was the elderly couple behind me also waiting in the "wrong line"? i don't spend all my time at staples so i didn't know they had two lines. This man seemed to be some sort of shift supervisor since he was handling cash, which shocked me since he was so rude and so helpless towards the 7 customers in line. This man appeared to be middle eastern, had a large beard, and did not wear a name tag. No one this helpless should really be working customer service. When we came in we asked where do we return Amazon items. We just moved and normally go to UPS. Tried this staples since it was suggested by Amazon. I see one man behind the counter helping someone so respectfully I stood behind him. Then another man stood behind us. A girl comes and goes to another counter and as soon as this employee was done, he goes to the girl. He knew we had been waiting a while and patiently. I asked if we were in line, he said no this is (pointing there) is the Amazon line and helped the other girl. He was so rude. No "sorry no I'll be right with you" no customer service skills at all. Didn't even say thank you, have a good day, thanks, bye, nothing just handed me my receipt w a blank stare. No name tag or anything. 5/9 6:15pm. I hate writing poor reviews. And, when I do, I usually find something positive to say. Not this time. Today I went to the Vista Staples for some card stock to print cards for Christmas. There was (1) other customer in the store, (1) clerk at the checkout, and (1) clerk at the service desk. I found the paper section all the way in the back and was disappointed with the selection of paper, considering this is a stationary store. Unable to find what i needed, I returned to the front of the store to ask for help. The clerk pointed to the rear of the store. Explaining that I was just there, he basically told me to look harder. I couldn't believe his response, in hopes that just maybe he would offer to escort me to find the card stock I needed. It's unfortunate that this is really the only store of this type in Vista. I seriously doubt that Staples in Vista will last much longer. With poor service like this, and the obvious lack of business, it's inevitable they won't be here much longer. My wife and I use staples for returns when it doesnt let us use khols. My wife usually says its depressing in the store, but she goes in while I wait in the car. This last time as described to me a tall gentlemen dark hair working at the counter starts lecturing my wife on how all these return items just go to a landfil and how its ruining our environment.. and my wife told him well these are my husband's returns (in a jokingly awkward way to an awkward conversation) and he tells my wife does your husband not care about our environment and the world you are leaving for our kids?!? I only use this store for Amazon returns. Every time I have gone there is an associate named Megan who refuses to do her job. I'll be waiting at the counter and she will act like she doesn't see me until I say something. Other times she will claim she can't do the return because of her back.
