Nice neighborhood post office. It was pretty quiet when I was in there and the postal clerk was very friendly.

Mixed reviews on this place. Really depends on who you get. Have typically been very polite, though today the employee harassed me for not buying their packing tape and expecting them to have it free for customer use (which they did but apparently this guy was just bitter about having to use it??). Your service is horrendous!! I paid $24.70 to ship my daughter some mail at church camp by using your "overnight" express mail and it should have arrived in Ravensdale, WA Saturday afternoon from Beaverton, OR and did not arrive until this morning, three days later! The mail arrived at the Seattle post office Saturday morning and was sent out the same morning yet it took this mail another two days to go 38 miles to Ravensdale, WA post office and then out to be delivered when it was supposed to be delivered no later than 3pm on Saturday afternoon if I understand the meaning of overnight correctly. All they could do was shrug and say sorry. I also could not collect a refund until the package was actually delivered this morning. Absolutely pathetic. People sure love to complain about the post office. Some of these Seattle folks should try to post a package in Manhattan Island. Learn what a line is. I find the staff at the PO to be really friendly, decent and efficient, a couple of them are exceptionally nice. My mail carrier does a good job and tries his best to accommodate me when I need it. I feel lucky to have such a good post office near to me, and grateful for USPS period. I worry that one of these days it will be privatized, and people will really have something to complain about. read more

This post office is awesome! I live closest to the University District post office and the people who work there are always grumpy and therefore end up acting kind of mean. I also haven't ever waited in line for less than 1.5 hours at the U District location. Due to all my bad experiences at that location I looked to see what other locations were nearby and found this post office location. It had a parking lot which is awesome to find in Seattle, and there was a very short line. In addition, the employee who helped me was extremely friendly and helped me figure everything out. I told her up front that I needed help and she made sure to help me find the cheapest option and helped me out with everything along the way. I will definitely be coming here next time I need to mail or ship something! read more

I had my mail held because my box was full. the only thing they provided that I would be able to get my mail was that it was at "the station" no address or anything. I had some things I was expecting so I called and said hey I need my mail please start delivering, I'll pick it up later. He said no you have to pick it up first otherwise you can't get mail until then. I said well then how was I supposed to find the place, and then he laughed at me over the phone. I said thanks for laughing at me and he said you're welcome. Nicely done USPS, great professionalism. read more

USELESS. So useless. So so so very useless. We have been trying to get something INCREDIBLY EASY done for a new construction for a month and it has involved four visits to this location, countless calls, AT LEAST five work orders. And NOTHING has been done. They have one manager who apparently works like one hour a week and they all take three hour lunch breaks at 3. 100% utterly incompetent. If the Asian woman at the counter who blinks constantly "helps" you and asks what is in your package (as she does to virtually everyone), DON'T TELL HER. I made the mistake of saying "birthday presents" and lo and behold, my package never arrived. Tracking says "label created, not yet in system". In other words, my package never left the Wallingford post office. Of course there could be another explanation- though it's hard to imagine what, since the staff is certain my package is not at the branch. But when an over-inquisitive employee doesn't affix the printed label to my package and send it on its way, I suspect she is over-inquisitive for a reason. read more

I stopped off at the Wallingford Post Office last night at 6:35pm to use the self-service kiosk to buy stamps for my Christmas cards and to mail a small package. Even though it was a half hour past closing time, there was a postal employee straightening things up in the outer lobby. As he was going back inside the split door into the back, he stopped and asked if I'd like my cards and package to go out that night. I told him it wasn't critical, but he said he'd wait for me to finish. It took me a good five minutes to put stamps on my envelopes and to buy the postage for my package, but he stood there in the doorway and chatted while I got things together. He then took all my envelopes and my package to the back where he said they would go out with the last run of the day. And then he wished me a very merry Christmas! It made my day. This place must have scores of bruises from the ten-foot poles that people poke it away with. I called today (a Friday, late afternoon, just getting near "punch out time," naturally) to inquire about something. It took me about a half hour to get past the busy signal. Seriously? A busy signal, in this day and age? And when I got through, I was brusquely told to call back on Monday and ask for So-and-so because she handles requests about how to get a friggin post office box. Apparently there is a specialized position that is in charge of post office boxes that is above the pay grade of whoever answers the phone at this outfit. I mean, really, how do you get a job at a post office and not know how to tell someone what they need to do to open a post office box? You can't make this up. The staff here is usually awesome and helpful- I'm thinking about this one legendary lady in particular. I just went there wanting to send a return package, but needed an extra piece of tape to secure the label since the tape I applied earlier wasn't that secure. Every other post office I've ever been to would just help me by providing a piece of tape. But this lady refused and tried to make me buy tape. That's ridiculous. What happened to friendly helpful post office workers??? I've been to post offices all over the states and have never had anyone turn me away because of tape. In fact, one time at a my local office, an employee OFFERED to tape up my entire package to make sure it was secure. I am not impressed. read more

What a joke. The delivery person from this post office hasn't been able to figure out our apartment mailboxes (because they're numerical, you know, and numbers are so damn confusing), so we are having to redistribute mail among ourselves after it's delivered. While I'll admit this is a wonderful way to get to know your neighbors, it's pretty ridiculous. Not only that, but when I called to complain about it, the supervisor at the post office implied that it was OUR fault for not having our names in the boxes. Somehow I've been getting my mail for over a year and a half just by having an address, but this person decided that the we're suddenly not because of a new carrier/no name issue. Please. The tall blond guy behind the counter is rude to the point of needing anger management training. Unprofessionally complaining in front of a line of customers about all the packages that have to be sorted before he can go home. Taking out his frustration on the customers like a teenager who can't go to the party. We all have long days. Grow up. Have had issues with packages coming to my house and having to pick up here in more than one occasion. Often times the package won't be available or ready for pick up right then. I understand that they don't have control over the delivery however. read more

Nothing special about this post office only because of their selection of stamps displayed. I was at the UW post office, and they have a variety of different stamps, including pixar. If you go around lunch time, there will be a line but if you just have to drop off some pre-postaged package, you can just ask them to leave it on the counter. You should also have an idea of what you type of mail service you want to use because not all the workers are helpful and will just offer to mail it priority mail. Still conveniently located with a parking lot across the street if you want to talk to a person instead of deal with their website. read more

I don't know what happened between now and last year but I have had a bad experience in Wallingford today. A year ago I received great customer service and everyone that waited on me at the counter was very friendly and helpful. Not so this year. I went to the Wallingford Post Office this morning in order to pickup some flat rate shipping boxes. Last year I saved a lot of money using these cartons and as a result switched from the UPS Store to USPS. Today when I left the Post Office with three boxes I was stopped by a postal empoloyee who was yelling at me. He kept saying I see you, I see you!!! It turns out that I picked up the wrong shipping cartons. I went back into the facility and exchanged them for the correct ones. I thought that it was very unclear as to which cartons were prepaid and which were not. As the employee and I walked back inside he, a jittery, rude little man kept accusing me of trying to steal the boxes. I asked him to calm down and he said he couldn't and didn't need to. I am going to continue to use the USPS cartons to ship Christmas packages this year but I would like to suggest to the Wallingford Post Master that the display racks be better signed and to have one rude jittery little man switch to decaf. read more

if they had negative stars, i'd rate them at -5 two super rude asian ladies were working, after the transaction, i needed cash back, which i've done several times, i really i didnt have time to go to the bank. after the lady who helped me told me i couldn't get cash back on my transaction, the other lady yells at me, in some kind of broken english ''YOU GO TO BANK!! ITS QUICKER!!! among other things she yelled at me, i couldnt really understand her stab at english. how it could be quicker is beyond me... i was so frustrated im looking into the actual identity of the rude lady, to file a formal complaint. other wise i'll be doing my postal business in greenlake, where the employees treat you with respect and also have the respect to master the english language. read more

This is my neighborhood post office and I always prefer it over other ones. The staff are really friendly and there's plenty of parking, 2 spots in front and lot right across the street and a lot right behind that too, plus street parking. I have a PO box there too and I like that that they have big open counters to sort the mail, big recycling bins for the junk mail. I left my key there once and they found it and put it in my mailbox. read more

This is by far the WORST post office I've ever had to deal with and I have lived all over the US and in other parts of the world. In 1.5 years of living within their dispatch zone- they misplaced my vacation hold mail for more than a week, they lost a very important letter from the DMV to replace the license plate stickers on my out-of-state car so that I couldn't drive for 6 weeks while the DMV reprocessed all my paper work. Finally, I have moved out of this area, but unfortunately am still suffering from the ineptitude of this center. I work at the Federal Forest Service Research station and had my IRS tax refund sent certified mail to the work place- the post man couldn't find the place (even though he delivers mail there EVERYDAY) and so he forwarded it off and the best the manager told me was that it could take a week to try and track down my mail- WORST post office EVER read more

For the second time, I box I sent has been "lost"... Three weeks ago, I mailed 3 boxes to Oakland. Only two made it. Apparently only two made it. The third is missing with no way to find it since I didn't pay to have a tracking number attached to the package. I mailed a package two years ago from the same post office and it also was "lost". I thought the first time was a fluke so I didn't have the recent three "tracked". I called the post office and they basically said too bad so sad. Never again. read more

I received a notice in my mailbox that I had to come to the Wallingford branch to pick up a certified letter, and a signature was required. The notice said I could pick it up after 8:00AM the next day. So the next day I took time off work to go to the Wallingford branch and arrived at 8:10AM. First the buzzer on their pick-up window is broken, and there was a note saying that you had to go to the counter. Surprise surprise, the counter lobby doesn't open until 8:30AM and the door was locked. There was another customer there waiting, and he told me he was also waiting for a certified letter and his notice also told him he could come in after 8AM so he took time off work to get there right at 8. On the front door is a notice saying that AS OF APRIL 2016 they open at 8:30AM. That is over a year ago, so why are the letter carriers leaving notices telling people to pick up their certified mail at 8:00AM?? We stood there waiting for twenty minutes until the guy opened the counter lobby. While I was there, the woman in front of me was asking to pick up her mail, which had apparently been on a vacation hold. The clerk went into the back room then came out and told her that her mail had been delivered the previous day. She told him that could not be right, because she had gotten home at 9PM last night and her mailbox was empty. The clerk said there was nothing he could do. I can see why the Postal Service is becoming obsolete. read more

I called to inquire about a missing package containing an expensive item. The woman I spoke with was very rude from the start. She assured me there was no reason that my package would ever come to her office despite evidence that it was the last known scanned location. She refused to look up my tracking information. I have since called back at least a dozen times attempting to reach her manager. There is either no answer or I am hung up on. I could not be more disappointed. read more

So unfortunately I had a very frustrating experience at this POST office recently. Last weekend, I made homemade valentines sugar cookies that I wanted to send to my boyfriend in Montana for Valentine's Day. Because I was late in making and sending them, I went big and for the first time ever, I mailed them in one of the Express, Guaranteed Next Day Delivery boxes. However, because it was a Saturday and the following Monday was President's Day (a holiday), the post office worker said it wouldn't get there until Tuesday (and the shipping was going to cost $34). However, he said if I wanted Guaranteed Sunday or Holiday shipping--ie, it would get there either Sunday or Monday, I would have to pay extra and my total shipping would be $47.65. This was a lot of money, but I decided it was worth it because I wanted the cookies to arrive fresh and to surprise my boyfriend. Thus, I was very disappointed when the box did not arrive in Missoula, Montana until the following Tuesday. I paid extra shipping for the next day delivery, and it took three days--the amount of time he had originally quoted me. The box was stickered with labels that even said "Sunday/Holiday Delivery Guaranteed." Seattle to Montana is not very far. I was shocked that it took this long at all. So, I decided to go back to the Post Office the next weekend to ask for a reimbursement. Unfortunately, in the ensuing week, I somehow misplaced the paper receipt. However, my friend took extensive pictures of the box and the mailing label which included the tracking number, the postal codes, the guaranteed delivery, and all of the information. When I came back to the Post Office with this data, I first waited in line for 30 minutes. Then, I talked to the same man who had originally shipped the package for me in the first place. He remembered me. However, he said that I had to have the original receipt or he couldn't do anything. I asked that even though I had all of the tracking numbers, all of the information, and all the picture evidence, that would be enough? And he said no. Then he had me talk to his manager who was quite abrubt and short with me. When I explained my situation and stated that I wanted my $13 back that I paid extra for the Sunday/Holiday shipping, he simply said he couldn't do anything without the paper receipt because they "have to staple it to the report." It was the most bureaucratic response I'd ever heard. Not once did either of them show an ounce of empathy or express an apology. Even if one of them had said "Oh, I'm so sorry to hear about that. I can see why you would be frustrated", I would have felt much better, even if they truly couldn't do anything. It was the fact that they messed up--that I had paid a TON of money for next day delivery and then they didn't express any apology or empathy for my frustration. I was also deeply unimpressed with the rigidity and the complete unwillingness to just enter the data I had without having to have the original paper receipt. I had all the info! The only thing the manager told me was that I could come back on Monday and talk to HIS manager. Too bad I have to work on Monday, like most people. I am deeply unimpressed with the customer service at this particular Post Office and the sincere lack of human empathy with his upper management. I understand that they probably get a lot of angry customers and complaints. But what would have been a simple reimbursement has now left me even more frustrated and upset than I was beforehand. I will not be directing my shipping business with USPS anymore. And they wonder why everyone ships through Amazon.... read more
