Wow.... I have never been treated more rude in my entire life! I arrived today at 4:29 pm to a door closed before their advertised 4:30 closing. They had a line of people inside telling me that they "couldn't let me in". Uhm, what is this? How unreal! A woman behind the counter, Mary Lou, was the most rude person I have ever talked to. Yelling and screaming saying "we are closed" and "you have work and where you work closes". Meanwhile, and this is the kicker, they got the crowd yelling at me as well! One woman got in my face screaming and telling me to kiss her *** and threatened to call the police! All of this over wanting to mail a package when I KNOW I got there at 4:29?? Rude, inept, inconsiderate and downright mean people work here. I got the name of the Santa Clara postmaster general and called him immediately. Service is horrible. 2 old ladies were pretty much helpful but I saw that the young lady serving as a cashier was treating customers like a shit with rude behaviors. USPs definitely fire those kind of people and hire more reliable and respectful people whom really deserve to work for USPS. I will certainly inform her to USPS. The workers here hate their jobs and make it obvious to everyone. The incredibly rude staff will yell at you and speak in a very condescending manner. A simple question will be answered with an unpleasant tone as if to say, "You should know that!" Also, there's always a line because they are so painfully slow. They will start to openly have a conversation with each other in the middle of a transaction. Arguing with customers just further serves to hold the line up. read more

Fast and friendly. Certainly, this location needs more employees. This place stays busy, all day, with a long line. Customers should have items ready when it's their turn, not still packing. Besides being really close to where I live, this place is annoying and not the first place I'd like to be going to ship my mail. There are a couple of ladies that normally work the counter, and one is super perky and the other is acts like she is super constipated. When my bf asked her if they had any priority padded mailing sleeves, she said yes and pulled one from her collection. He asked her why they didn't keep them in the front, and she said they just didn't. So, he had already finished packing his item in a different envelope and had to stick with it because the padded priority envelopes are just hidden. Super annoying. The lines here are as slow as molasses and if you are in a hurry, you might as well go to a different post office. read more

It's kind of strange, even though all windows usually open at the lunch time, but there is always a long lane there, they are kind of slow there. I did not like that, they also have only one mail pick up time around 3 PM. It's not my favorite place to drop the mails. read more

This would be a one star review except for the ONE helpful employee they finally hired who is actually interested in serving the customer (sorry, I don't know his name). Otherwise, this place is a bust. The building itself is dingy and rundown. There are never enough staff to work the counter, and when you do finally get to the counter after standing in line forever they are usually rude and abrupt. I love going to this post office, the service is fast and friendly. I am a seller and I started to go to this post office to send my packages, I always stand in line to make sure my packages are at the right weight. I never had to wait in line for over 30 minutes even on saturdays. So I give this place a thumbs up! read more

Easily the worst USPS store that I've ever been to. Anyone that thinks this is a good location with good employees has never been to a nicer USPS store with which to make a proper comparison. Here's why it's bad: - It's a tiny, dirty building with no AC. - It's under-staffed, so often there will be just one employee accepting mail, which will often translate to you waiting in line far longer than you should. - Employees aren't helpful. Extreme shortened anecdote to explain: I had three **ENORMOUS, HEAVY** boxes to ship. I walked in and asked Kim if there was a mail cart I could use to wheel in these massive packages. Not grasping English well, she emphasized that she couldn't help me because she wanted to leave and go on her lunch break. I tried to convey that I wanted a cart of some kind, and she abruptly walked away. None of the other employees tried to help. So I carried in these large, heavy packages and set them on the floor inside, one at a time. Once I was done bringing all three packages in, sweat-drenched and back hurting, one of the employees wheeled a cart out for me to put the packages in for mailing. Called this location the day before to make an appointment to turn in a passport application and was told that they were accepting walk-ins. Came to this location to turn in a passport application during my lunch time since their passport application acceptance hours state until 3:00 pm on the USPS website and I got there at 2:15 pm. By the time I get up to the counter, the worker tells me they stopped at 2:20 pm. I look at the time and it is only 2:24 pm. I would have been able to turn it in on time if there were more workers actually working and not huddled up in the back room slowly coming out like a clown show exiting a little tikes car deciding whether or not to come back to work and help the customers. read more

There are two ladies do the passport service. One is an Asian and the other is a white and old lady. The Asian is amiable. But the white and old lady is very bad at her attitude, especially if you are immigrant. Not feel comfortable to go to that post office and see her. read more

I have a letter that needed to be sent as Certified Mail. I had to get this done before a long oversea's business trip.. I arrived at the location at 4:27pm and walked into the main doors at 4:28pm. The guy saw me and decided to lock the doors. I motioned him that it's not 4:30pm yet but he pretends he couldn't see me. I look at both my personal and work cell phones, and both says 4:28pm. I came in fully ready and it would have been a 30 second transaction but no, they just slammed the doors on me before their official closing time. read more

I've been here over a dozen times, and it's pretty much what I'm looking for in a post office. The prices are competitive, the service is fast, and the parking is ample. I've had some bad experiences at other post offices in the area; one place had incompetent workers, another charged too much, the last was too slow. I have to go to the post office everyday for work, I go to this one or the one on Gold street but I try to avoid this one as much as possible mainly because all three lady workers here are : RUDE. There are two asian ladies and one white lady that are always unfriendly and have attitude to, not only myself, but everyone else in which I have witnessed every time I have come in. Even waiting in line, I can hear them giving attitude to other customers. Almost every time I drop off mail they have to make some rude remark and reject the packages I drop off (for my work, keep in mind that I am just the messenger) criticizing it in any possible way. I find them very picky compared to the post office down the street where they never reject my drop offs. And even if there was something wrong with it, they don't have to be so rude about it and shove it away. It seems like they hate their job and working with people. They try to get you out of their way as soon as possible not necessarily because they want to see the line going but because they really don't care to help you. read more

My boyfriend made an appointment for ordering his passport at 1:30pm. He arrived half an hour early, and there was no-one behind the counter. The lady didn't arrive until 1:40pm, and when she did, she had the nerve to tell my boyfriend that he had to reschedule, because he was late! Afterwards, she then went to help the female who had an appointment at 1:45pm, although my boyfriend's appointment was 15 minutes earlier and he was there waiting for her to show up! The women here (and there are no men counter staff) must get paid according to how many rude comments they can dole out to the customers, and revel in finding the slightest excuse to reprimand (i.e., 'this stamp is crooked' or 'you can't put the zip code on its own separate line'). They are postal Nazis, and they take pleasure in ordering the customers around, and humiliating them. "CARRIE ANN". That was the name tag to whom that "served" me when I was there this morning. She is a short Asian lady, but boy! She was by far one of the RUDEST and most UNREASONABLE middle-aged woman. I come to this location frequently as I live nearby. So I know who are the 2 polite ones working on the counter (and the rest are just plain rude and aggressive). Today, I was hoping to find one of my favorite polite ones, but none was there. So I had to approach the counter with this "CARRIE ANN" serving me. Her service sucked and I agree with the feedback left by customers who came here stating that these people are paid/commissioned by how loudly & rudely they talk to their customers. What happens to customer service?! There was none whatsoever from this CARRIE ANN. She was not there to help you. Instead, she made sure you get humiliated and "scolded"!! She talks to you as if she is against the whole world! So, question for the management of USPS; there are so many rude cashiers and many have been complained about..but why are these rude cashiers not fired!? This was the only post office that I could find which will accept appointment for passport renewal. As already mentioned here, you have to call at 7:15 AM of the previous saturday for appointment. I had to repeatedly keep pressing redial and was about to give up. Got through after about 15 mins and the lady said there are two appointments remaining. On the appointment day, we went few minutes early and the counter staff looked at the doc and it got done in 5-10 mins. So except for the method of making the appointment, everything else would get 5 stars. There was one other staff in the stamps counter. I was observing her customer skills based on many of the reviews here but looked fine for me. Didn't see any rudeness. read more

Some of these reviews are real negative and exaggerated. Let me start by saying that I love this place. I can agree that one of the employees here named Kim is the rudest and impatient clerk I've ever had to encounter. The other two; Tran & Num, are the best. They are patient & very friendly. Mary Lou can be a nice person, if you catch her on a good day. Lol anyhow, like I was saying. I come here often, you have to give them credit. When they accept passport applications for walk-ins be nice, they're doing YOU a favor. They have rules & policies just like your job does. Certain things such as, passports, have to be mailed out to get started with the process. The closing hours; big deal. You're not there before 430. To bad your loss. There's always the next day. They have work to do after they close & must to be out of there by a certain time just like AT YOUR JOB. Ever thought that these clerks have a Boss on their head & life to get back to?! I had exactly the same experience as Krystle C. One of the ladies there doesn't know what the customer needs and how to question and answer about customer's needs politely. She was just rude and saying you can't make an appointment in person, which was ridiculous. And she was just being loud, rude and nasty as if I had asked for some service they didn't provide. I've come to this post office on Lafayette St., Santa Clara Ca. frequently. I've always treated them politely and the ladies do the same to me. The most customer friendly worker at this post office location is a lady named Linda, who always had a smile on her face and treated customers courteously and patiently. She retired several years ago -- too bad. I have to say that when I applied for a passport last June, I approached the elderly lady with glasses (in charge of passports) and asked her if I could make an appointment. She told me that I didn't need one and gave me forms and detailed information about renewing it. She was friendly and polite. When I returned to send the form, the lady was not there so I gave it to one of the other ladies. She took my envelope, and explained that I didn't need to register the envelope (as I had done), put a tracking label on the envelope, and gave me my receipt. A few weeks later, I received my new passport, and my old one thereafter. I did not encounter any rudeness on her part. When I last visited this post office, I was disappointed to read the note that this office was suspending passport applications and that we had to go to 1175 Branham Ln. in San Jose to apply. I'm saying this because I plan to help a disabled senior citizen renew her passport. I just googled the Branham Ln. location and it is far from Santa Clara. I can't understand why passport application service was moved to this far location which is not conducive for people who don't drive or can't take public transportation because of a disability. I've always supported our US postal service -- often ignoring suppliers who ask me to pay my bill "on line" -- always buying stamps and mailing my letters/cards/bills via the USPS. With this service gone from this location, I wonder if I'll change my mind about further supporting the USPS. read more
