The building is pretty but that's about it. Honestly, I don't blame the employees. This location is just plain understaffed. This past weekend a friend needed to get his passport so we stopped by. Get here early. You don't want to sign up after everyone else or you'll be here for hours. Got up later than I wanted to on Saturday and got to this location at 9 o clock. By the time we signed up, we were 18th in line. Yes, 18th my friends. The first person on the wait list hadn't even gone in yet, so the first person who got here straight up took 30 minutes to get all their paper work signed off. 30 minutes late, and with each person taking 20-30 minutes to get their passports figured out, we left and came back 2.5 hours later. Thankfully, there were people on the wait list that just got up and left so after 3 grueling hours, my buddy finally got to go in. Absolute nightmare. Just take the bullet, wake up real early, and go be the first in line. At least then you don't have to waste half a Saturday here.

Normally the line in here is pretty long. Add to that USPS completely overcharges on bike shipping, $20-30 more than FedEx and UPS!

Don't send ANYTHING without insurance. I haven't had a time where things haven't been taken from my package. Sad that this is happening.

Before I could fully explain my question, the employee took the paper from my hands and did not listen to what I was trying to say. Instead, he proceeded to look at all of the tracking numbers, which was not what I was asking about. When he returned, he spoke to me in a condescending manner and implied that I should not have come to that post office because one of the packages belonged to a different ZIP Code. However, I had visited both post offices two days earlier, and an employee at the other location specifically instructed me to come to this office because that package was there. I calmly explained that my frustration was not about the package itself, but that he had not listened to my question before making assumptions. Rather than acknowledging that, he became increasingly rude. The interaction ended with him asking me, "Do you want a tissue to cry about it?" I was shocked that a USPS employee would speak to a customer this way. The employee literally shoved tissue at me and reached over the counter towards me. This is unnecessary and unacceptable. I will be filing a police report.

The most terrible, misinformed and ignorant staff I have ever had the misfortune to encounter!!!…read more I presented a flat rate box that was bulged and they refused to ship it! I had researched the official USPS website prior to packaging it and it clearly met all the requirements and specifically said that bulges in the box are not a problem as long as it closes on the normal folds which it did! Even when presented with the written regulations from USPS website they dug in their heels a refused to ship my parcel. The postal service needs to either train its staff or at least have them learn the regulations!! They are absolutely the classic example of overpaid under qualified government employees. I would give zero stars if I could!! No wonder this post office has a 2.1 rating on Yelp! I added this edit later- I took the parcel to San Roque post office and they accepted it without blinking an eye. I told them what happened in Goleta with these idiots and they just shook their heads and rolled their eyes!

They have also "failed to deliver" one of my packages to my residential mailbox so I had to go pick it up in person, and I had to open a claim for a lost package this week because although it was marked delivered, it wasn't. We were really excited to receive our item and checked the mailbox within minutes of getting the email notification that it was "delivered" but our mailbox was empty. It's very irritating to be out $300 and still not have our instrument part.
