Warning: DO NOT come here if you're pregnant, with children, or in need of taking a dump! The line is out the door!!! Literally overheard the worker call their supervisor saying they had been working since 6Am and had not even had their break yet at 10:30am. But she was the only one working and no one could've stepped in! I know it's not her fault but my goodness, you'd have to have a lot of patience waiting in line. I basically waited 30 minutes to see the front counter and finished my task in 1 minute! The lady was nice though but she's stressed and overwhelmed- you can tell. I wish returning an item with a QR code was something I could've done at the self service kiosk. Maybe next time I'll print out a return label or ask for one then I wouldn't wait. Or maybe I'd just go to a different location like Parkside. I'm worried it's all the same though because it seems like USPS is usually understaffed. Advice: 1. if possible, go to FedEx. I had an extremely unpleasant experience at this post office. The clerk named Shwe, I interacted with was rude, argumentative, and yelled at me when I asked a simple question about my postage. She even loudly announced that her own colleagues don't follow rules and that she is the only one that does. Even worse, after our interaction, she continued to loudly announce complaints about me to the next customer in line so everyone in the post office could hear. It was humiliating and completely unprofessional. I've been going to this post office for over 25 years and this is by far the worst customer service I've ever received at any post office. I would avoid Shwe if you expect to be treated with basic courtesy and respect. read more

I usually drop packages here because it's convenient but I no longer will come to this location. No line and I go to the usual drop off pre paid label spot and start laying my items down. Here comes the employee grabbing all my items and starts weighing each one telling me they are all incorrect weights and she will not accept. Two minutes of being there being treated so rudely I grabbed everything and left. I've never had that happen and I use a scale to be as accurate as I can but as a seller is a guesstimate sometimes. I used to come to this post office a lot when I was living in the sunset district. About 2 weeks ago, I came to this branch as I was nearby to drop off my wedding invitations. The Asian lady at the counter said I had to pay an extra $7.40(26 school bus stamps along 13-10 cent pears) for 13 wedding invitations even though I had a forever stamp and 2 ounce. She said I had a plastic sticker that was considered non-machinable. I was there to drop off a return package with a return label from the seller, waited in line for 20 or more minutes and when I approached the counter, I asked this Chinese male clerk, in his early fifties for a piece of scotch tape to affix the label on the box, this mean person said they don't have tape and told to buy a whole new roll of scotch tape that cost about $10 just to affix the return label on the small box. Just minutes before, I saw his co-worker, another female mail clerk pulled out some tape to help another customer bundle the 2 packages together. So I know he was lying and just being mean. if he just have a little bit of curtesy and a little bit of his heart left, he would make a customer's life much easier, but, apparently, this man doesn't have it. Here we go with Asian Lady with Glasses - Sandra If her job was going into work and ruining people's days, then yes she is doing an amazing job! Is she the manager, owner, and boss?? Well she sure acts like it. She gets paid to yell at people and make them feel dumb. She makes up this rule where if there's more than 2 prepaid packages and you want a receipt, she'll order you to use the machines. I personally don't like to use the machines and I also don't mind waiting in line so I'm not sure where the problem is? I had an interaction with her again and she refused to scan my prepaid packages because it was more than 2.... This time I have a recording of her saying she will not help me. Where's the manager again? lol At this point I pray for her. There must be some unhealed personal trauma for her to be such a vile person towards people and I wish her nothing but inner peace. But moving along we all got problems and dealing with someone like this can really ruin a persons day. Life is hard enough as it is.. just be kind. Over the holidays, I mailed a bunch of stuff and the workers were super helpful and courteous. I guess I should start looking at the name tags bc everyone I've encountered has been so kind. This is an overdue story but one of the workers noticed my address was closer to another usps location and he asked why I didn't go there instead. I simply said I enjoyed coming to the plaza and it was about equidistant anyway. So I decided to try out the location closer to me. Wow... It was quite an experience. It's much smaller and even tho everyone was 6' apart, it felt cramped. Plus there was a man who didn't speak English, demanding to get something the location didn't have, but he wouldn't leave or take no for an answer .. on top of that, there was a lady also needing something they couldn't provide her with.. it was very stressful. ^and that is why I'll continue coming to the sloat location. As long as you don't encounter the rude worker mentioned in other reviews. Also they usually have shipping supplies stocked which is nice. She keeps telling me what i filled out is not what she want but she doesn't even say how to do it. . Been coming here for ages and finally had it. I been putting up with this spikey hair middle aged asian guy supposedly named JOE for along time and finally had it. He is high temper, rude, and lazy. This guy I witnessed over the years yell at seniors, regular customers and often lashes out at customers for being slow. Here is what happened, everytime i go in to drop off a package I want a receipt so I head to the counter. Every staff is able to do this for me. But not Joe. Everytime he would refuse service and tell me to go to the kiosk instead. Fine. However yesterday ironically there was a woman taking a long time and stuck at the kiosk and being no line at all I just went to the regular line and got sent to Joe. He told me to go over there to the kiosk. When I told him shes stuck and theres a line he said he doesnt care get out of here I am not helping you. Go to the kiosk. I dont usually write bad reviews nor do I like to write negative things about people but the past two times I've been at this location, I have left the post office feeling upset due to a worker refusing to help me twice in both instances. I won't name names, if you're a regular there then you can probably tell who anyways. The first time, earlier this year I was carrying 2 large flat rate boxes that were heavy, like 50lbs total( I don't work out often anymore and my back is bad) and I was sick that day plus it was raining. I just wanted to be in and out as quickly as I could since I wasn't feeling great. When I got to the counter the employee told me to go the scan machine for a receipt and I told her I'm feeling sick, these boxes are heavy, and I have a bad lumbar. Can you just scan it since I'm already here? Despite giving my reasons and what would've took otherwise a couple seconds to scan two boxes, she just went back and forth with me and I'm just standing there like wtf why are you refusing to do your job to scan these boxes? Are you being serious? Then an employee next to her decided to help me out instead and I was on my way out. I was baffled. Then today I went again and asked for two receipts. Someone was at the machine this time so she couldn't use that excuse. One of my packages was hard to scan and it was because my tracking bar code wasn't flat so I was like sure let me fix that real quick and it took me about 2-5 seconds to lie it out flat, then she refused to scan or even give it a try. She said the other side isn't flat so it won't matter. I was like okay well you wanna give it a shot and let's see what happens? Takes like 2 seconds to scan. If it fails, ok I'll deal with it. If it works then great. But the fact she wouldn't scan the label or try to see if we could get an acceptance scan was weird as hell. The employee next to her ended up helping me and we were able to get it scanned and worked with me which I appreciated. I don't know if that worker remembers me from the first time or whatever the reason may be but I just couldn't comprehend why she was being needlessly difficult again. I dont know that I ever want to return to this USPS moving forward if I can help it. The USPS on taraval is far superior in terms of having postal workers that work with you, help you, and treat you nicely. They've gone above and beyond for me all the time I needed help. I've had no problems with others in the sunset either on west portal and Irving. Anyways, this is unfortunate but it is fortunate there are many other USPSs in the sunset. read more

5 stars for the gentleman who work this counter. 2 stars for the Asian lady with short hair. Twice she made me use machine to print a label I generated online when today no one was in line and made me put the package on the side instead of officially scanning for acceptance. Lack of customer service skills from her. I had packages stolen before and I like to get them scanned but instead she forces her preferred way of doing business onto the customer instead of listening to what they want. She's the only one, as the other gentleman who has helped me in the past had no issues printing out my label, scanning and accepting my package. 5 stars for those guys. I wish Taraval was easier to get to but they are doing construction and hard to find parking. I've only had issues at the Sloat location seems to be a few bad apples who have been there too long maybe time to retire. I've been coming here for about two years now since I started selling eBay items and I've yet to encounter a truly negative experience. I'm not counting things like "it's 5 minutes before closing and the employees are upset about the 30 people in the store" that's reasonable. Avoid this place if you need customer service. Go to USPS store at 1100 Sullivan Ave, Daly City, CA 94015. I only go there for special shipments on Saturday and they are the only one open late until 5PM on Saturday. They don't care about customers and I been there multiple times with bad experiences. Today at 4PM I went there to drop off 3 packages. I saw 3 counter clerks chatting and ignoring customers. I don't mind waiting in line but I would never drop off packages on counter unattended. I have lost a few packages in the past and they were never scan or no record at all. I finally met with a lady and I gave them 3 prepaid flat rate eBay packages and she refused to scan and give me receipts. She told me to drop off at counter without scanning or go use automatic scanner across the desk. Why are we even hiring these people and paying their salaries and they are not interested in helping customers! I told them I lost packages before and do not want to leave my packages unattended at the counter. Bad place. Bad customer service. All these people should leave, retire or go do something else if they don't like what they are doing or serving the community. It wasn't busy when I went in but I decided to use the self service machine so that the one free worker could peacefully finish his breakfast. His female coworker who was assisting another customer decided to be obnoxious and talk about how I was being weird for not coming up to the counter and using self service in Cantonese. I've always came to this post office for all my shipping needs so most of the workers know me and have become rather friendly but I was honestly irritated that this female worker (who is probably a new hire since I've never seen her prior to this day) was so openly rude and thought she was so sly for doing it in another language. Why the heck would anyone write a review of a post office? Quite frankly, I'm only doing this because of an experience that everyone should know. The mailboxes outside of the US Post Office were completely full. Yes it's a Monday. But they didn't bother emptying it out in the morning nor did they bother to check of it was full. So basically, the mail was spilling onto the floor of the parking lot. I picked up the mail and tried to shove it in the mailbox and more spilled out. It was ridiculous! So I gathered up the spilled mail and I brought it inside the post office to drop it off. I told the clerk behind the counter about the mailbox situation and he just said ok we will come out later. I waited in the parking lot and no one came out for about 8 minutes. I left. So basically this post office doesn't give a s*** about your mail. i don't leave bad reviews. But this place honestly has me raging inside. The staff are so rude and unprofessional. I received a slip telling me to pick up my package on or after a said date. I drive out there on that date (my fault for missing the letter) but i find out that they can't find my certified mail. They look at each other with confusion and talk in Chinese for so long which makes me anxious. Then they say come back tomorrow, we don't have it. No apology, just we don't have it. It might come tomorrow. I track my package again and now it says "still in transit" (before it said something along the lines of arrived at postal office ready for pickup) even though I received the arrived slip. First and foremost, why can't we give 0 stars here on yelp? Secondly, this post office branch is the only branch that gives me difficulty every single time. Thursday, the 18th of June this branch left a note on my doorstep claiming that they did not leave my package because it needed to be signed for. I've been ordering from the same company for years and this was the first time I'd heard of needing a package from the company signed. I called and was put on hold for 94 minutes and 19 seconds, only for the call to be "dropped" and then upon calling back, told by an automated machine that the post office was closed. So, I went online to have it rescheduled for the 23rd of June. June 23 comes, my mail is in the mailbox but no parcel to be seen. I call customer service, they give me the option to file a complaint as the parcel ends up not even needing a signature. So, the original slip was a lie from this post office's end. I call this branch 6 more times, no one picks up. I call customer service one more time and they file both a complaint and turn in another request for delivery. A few hours later and I get a blocked call from a man who works here. He claims its my fault I didn't get my package when the worker who tried to drop off my parcel claims he didn't see my request to leave my package, even though I wrote it on a piece of paper and left it by the rug of my front porch. So, I told the worker I am giving them verbal allowance to leave my parcel on my doorstep following my 2 other physical requests to leave my package on my door. To this he replies, my verbal consent doesn't mean anything unless I'm there to sign for the package THAT DOESNT EVEN NEED A SIGNATURE. I then elaborated to him how I've never had to give my signature for small packages. I also tell him how no one will be available to be at the house to get the package. This leads to him yelling at me saying how it's my fault I can't have my package because no one will be home to sign for it.... Bro, I gave you 3 different kinds of consent to leave my package at my doorstep. He then tells me my neighborhood isn't safe to leave packages at... The very same house and neighborhood my family and I have had HUNDREDS of packages left on our door and nothing has every happened. But it's fine, more complaints to file is all it is. read more

However, every time I have to use Joe's window at the Sloat Post Office, I dread it. He is the guy that "Martin C" reviewed and took a photo of. Joe is bossy, rude, short tempered, angry, sarcastic, mean, and inappropriate. Today the customer next to me was having trouble because he was pulling his credit card out of the terminal too soon. Joe yelled out some mocking comments, then started laughing at the poor customer and started tallking (in Chinese?) in a mocking way with the other clerk. One time, a while back, when the stamps had gone up in price, I had to mail an important bill, and I was $0.02 short. I waited a long time in line. When I got to Joe's window, he yelled, "We all out of one cent stamp! You come back another time!" I explained that my letter was urgent and asked him to use the register to print a mailing label for the difference. He refused! Fortunately the clerk in the next window did it for me. Today, I wanted to purchase stamps and mail my tax bill. I asked him to print a mailing label (so that the zip code would reflect on the receipt). He refused loudly and angrily said, "We don't do that. Receipt don't mean anything. What wrong with you! You mail certified. Gee. You don't know what you doing." Then I asked to buy stamps. He dumped a pile of stamps on the counter (held together by a paperclip). I pulled one of the sheets out and said, "I'll take this one." He barked at me, "don't touch my display. This is just display, not for you to buy." I've had many other unpleasant experiences with Joe and I've watched him terrorize other customers.
