I had a very satisfying moment recently and it came via a very cool USPS employee. Was it something that they did for me? Nope. It came in the form of how they handled a real Grinch. Yes, the employee fought back, verbally, and it was awesome. The woman was rude, she snatched stamps from his hand, and when challenged, she absolutely crumbled. There is a special place in Hell for those that abuse USPS workers, ever, but especially this time of year when they are working their asses off to get your punk-ass nephew his Lego set. Maybe I just go at the right time (Saturday before noon) or maybe I'm just lucky, but I can't say I've had a bad experience at this location. Sure the line can get long, especially during the Christmas season, but I feel like that should be expected. Overall the employees have been friendly and helpful. They provide good suggestions on the products I need. And it can be a little fun to pick out the stamp to put on my letter. Plus, you won't find a cheaper way to ship your packages. read more

If I could give 0 stars I would. Extremely unpleasant experience due to employee being extraordinarily rude. I have never had an experience like this before in any other US Post Office. When I went there were two employees. The man that was "helping" me couldn't help but make rude comments and snide remarks. Please fix your attitude, you are an unpleasant person to be around. I needed to send out a package and this post office was going to be on the way home from there so I stopped here. It was easy to get to and the parking lot was pretty large making parking easy. This location was pretty large and very busy. There was a huge line that took me about 15 minutes to get through. I didn't mind the wait and the staff were friendly once I got to the front of the line. I sent my package out and got right on out of there with no issues. I don't think I would want to come here often because I know there are locations that are slower and quicker but it was a good option for if I am passing by. read more

The lady at the front named Anne was very rude, she did not want to assist me or help me figure out anything about my package. I had called and they told me to go into the postal office so I can pick up my package I need before my trip and she just shut me out. She definitely needs better customer service skills. I am actually shaking while writing this review. Some lady who is obviously having a bad day with her broken neck (a worker) KEPT HARASSING ME. Asking what i needed help with twice and the second time she really pissed me off. She said that i needed tape to tape up my package and i had to go home. SHE NEVER TOLD ME THAT I HAD TO PAY FOR THE PACKAGE. I was actually really angry at this point and not knowing, i walked out with the package unpaid on accident. Absolute worst post office I've ever been to. I had a package there and the extremely rude man with facial hair (don't know his name) went back for 2 minutes to "look for it" and came back saying it wasn't there. I said "are you sure because the tracker says it's here" and he said he was positive. I've never had someone roll their eyes at me so much! This post office (6401 El Cajon Blvd. San Diego 92115-9998) for many years has had four drive-up drop off boxes. Recently, they removed all four boxes, leaving two walk-up boxes and the lobby. This is going to create a huge problem for the handicapped as well as the able bodied. There are few handicapped parking spaces and the parking lot is usually congested to start with. The issue will be compounded exponentially during tax season as well as most major holidays. They need to return at least two of the boxes for drop off purposes. read more

They refuse to deliver any small packages that will fit into my mailbox, and return them to sender, claiming that the address is wrong, I've tried to talk to them, and it doesn't do any good, they're rude. Besides the sexy black man with the awesome mustache, this post office sucks. There's only ever 1 person working there and always a long wait. Had a box to ship out yesterday, waited in line for 15-20 minutes (with a baby on my hip), finally get to the counter and they refuse to help me because my box needed to be taped shut and I didn't have the addressee written on the box. They "don't do any packaging" at this location. Really? You couldn't spare one piece of tape and a marker to accommodate me? If that's the case, why didn't you mention that when I was in line for 15 minutes??? No common courtesy announcement on how to be prepared by the time we get to your counter. Lame! I don't usually leave reviews like this, but I'm absolutely at the end of my rope. After weeks of back-and-forth with multiple staff members, finally received this story: USPS accidentally failed to process my change of address request for over 6 weeks, AND the carrier at my old address failed to leave a slip notifying my old landlord that they had a package for me. Allegedly they received and held my package for 10 days, but there is no way for me to prove that because they didn't leave a slip with a working article #. Then it was sent to "dead mail" where I can't ever get it back because USPS tracking numbers expire after 30 days so there's no way to find it now. The problem is that didn't know my package was even missing until it had been over 30 days because the seller didn't tell me they mailed the package yet, and USPS is experiencing delays so they just assumed I hadn't received it yet for that reason. Basically my package fell through the cracks because corporate didn't do their jobs, and I'm out $100+, in addition to being yelled at and condescended on the phone by the very rude Brandon (who refused to transfer me to higher management where I could handle this complaint privately). As a small business owner myself, I appreciate and rely on USPS, and I understand there is nuance to the difficulties that they are experiencing here. I know most of the staff are doing their best, and Shawnte and Rueben have both been so helpful and friendly in the past. That being said, this failure cost me an irreplaceable $100 that I can't soon forget. I won't be returning to this location ever again unless they absolutely have to!! Been trying to get a hold of this branch for an emergency for 3 hours. The only phone number doesn't get answered. The two options both just give you a recorded message. After 3 min of being on hold the line hangs up on you. This is the number we were given by the main post office line. Medications were delivered yesterday to our complex and jammed into the box making the door not open. We've been trying to get to this box since early this morning. Feel free to use the names of any employees during your negative experience as well. Came in here the other day with 2 women working. The woman working on the right hand side nearest the door was very rude, impatient and I really do not know how she still has a job here. They do not abide by the 6 feet rule with COVID-19 going around and they couldn't care less about their customers. They care more about the line going from the left to the right rather than they care about people maintaining a 6 feet distance from each other. I had to mail a letter and BEING IMMUNOCOMPROMISED and having myself as my only means of support, I had to mail a letter at this post office. A woman was in front of me and was finishing speaking to the worker helping her, and during this, the rude postal worker woman to the right counter announced very loudly and impatiently, 'NEXT IN LINE'. I was next in line waiting for the customer in front of me to leave, and seeing as she was about to leave, I decided to wait for her to pass in order to maintain the 6 feet safety precaution. She decided to walk out the wrong way of the line (in the direction that I was going) and as I was waiting for her to pass before I was able to go up to the counter, the rude woman at the right counter impatiently, loudly, and very rudely yelled 'ANYONE, ANYONE, NEXT IN LINE'. It was bizarre how she did not see that I was WAITING for this customer in front of me to pass so that I could have more space to walk up to the counter. I was trying to maintain a 6 feet distance from those around me but this rude postal worker woman working did not seem to care. M'aam, why do you work here if you hate your job? On top of that, a very large man attempted to squeeze his way past me, without leaving ANY room whatsoever of space between us and CLEARLY not following the 6 feet distance. I AM IMMUNOCOMPROMISED. This means that if I get sick with ANYTHING from a regular flu to god forbid COVID-19, I WILL die. But rather than ANY of the workers working asking any of the customers to maintain this distance for the health and safety of others, the rude woman instead, backed up the man who was trying to squeeze past, agreeing with his claim in that the line went in that direction. Excuse me..but you WON'T DIE if you go to the counter from the opposite end of the line. HOWEVER, I WILL DIE if you carry COVID-19 and don't respectfully maintain a 6 feet distance from me seeing as my immune system is not strong enough to fight off illnesses that aren't a big deal for most. So for you to gamble others lives in order to go the correct way in short line where there are only 2-3 other customers in the post office is COMPLETELY SELFISH and should NOT BE ACCEPTABLE. As the proceeded to rudely speak about me during their transaction, I left the store quickly and quietly. These people are completely inconsiderate, mental, SELFISH, and only think about themselves. During this entire encounter, there was literally only one other person in that post office at the time so it wouldn't have been difficult AT ALL for a postal worker to ask the man to just go up to the counter of the rude woman from the other side of the line to maintain a 6 feet distance from others. It would have been an easy fix that could SAVE LIVES. The workers in this post office really hate their jobs as well as the people who come in and it is very clear to see. I believe that maintaining a 6 feet distance from others to avoid getting others sick, ESPECIALLY those who are immunocompromised - who WILL DIE if they do get sick, is INFINITELY MORE important than whether you go in the right direction of the line (which, by the way, is not labeled with signs, arrows or anything to signify the start/end of the line, to begin with whatsoever). Some people working here really should sort out their priorities when it comes to the health and safety of their customers. Also, maybe fire those employees who are not appreciative of their jobs, such as those who choose to lash out on customers because there are many, many others who would appreciate this job much more and act like so. Additionally, if any of those in management read this and would like to ask about the situation, I am happy to provide details (time and date I came in) as well as a full description of the woman mentioned. read more

I wouldn't give this post office a one star if I had the choice to! Be aware that even when purchase insurance on your package and ANYTHING happens they will always find a way to blame you for it. They are not organized and not professional at all!! I shipped a product to a customer in Germany and they took it without telling me that there is a restriction list to be mailed into Germany. I mean how I am supposed to know that?!!! They have been doing this for years and they didn't know it so they expected me to know it! I paid over a $60 to ship to Germany and the package got delivered back to me! They refused to resend it or to refund me!! Horrible customer service! They are very outdated. I tried paying with my card which does have chip issues but always works with swiping. The lady continued to say my card is declined, so I call my bank because there must be an issue. The bank informed me that there are no pending transactions nor declined transactions that went through. They do not have Apple Pay or verifone for mobile payments. The woman just voided me out and I had to leave because their machines wouldn't work. She stated other cards worked and I told her what's going on with mine yet still no luck. They said I'd have to come back in an hour or so to try to get serviced by another POS. Very dissatisfied and disappointed. read more

Zero stars. The service is unbelievably slow, and to make things even slower, there's usually some angry person holding up the line by going on and on at the counter about lost, stolen, or damaged mail. You'd think they can call to file a complaint and save everyone else's precious time, but no. No one ever answers the phone- I've called numerous times to save myself from having to come in, but no luck getting anyone to answer. It's been a great motivation not to miss packages- to avoid enduring the wait and listening to pissed off people pour their angry little hearts out at employees... who by the way, will act as if its above their pay grade to care. read more

This place is also called the Andrew Jackson Station FYI! If you ever want to know how you are doing on the spectrum of patience.... post offices are definitely the place to go!!! You got all sorts or workers...shipping situations...all sorts of characters here trying to just mail a package or letter! This particular location has been my to-go spot ever since I was able to drive. I go here about once a month...and I have seen it change from time to time. They use to be really bad at customer service, and there was always just 1-2 people working here even if there was a huge line. I believe they are trying to change that as I often now see 2-3 people up front...and sometimes one expeditor asking on the side if anyone is dropping off anything or just needs to pick up anything. They got all sorts of boxes and mailers to fit your items, and a friendly staff. They also have a self mail station if you are technologically advanced. The lines can get pretty long no matter the time...and your patience is tested. I have to say 7 out of 10 times...I have had to wait 10 minutes or longer. The slowest times are probably right mid day and it can get busy in the mornings and late afternoon before closing. They are super nice and friendly now, and if you come often enough ..they will remember you and there will be small talk. They are still understaffed though, and you can see they are stressed out from time to time, so cut them some slack! I've seen all sorts of people have to stand in line for nothing...so here are some TIPS: 1. If you need to drop off anything that is ready to go...just leave it with any worker or leave it on the side. Make sure they at least acknowledge you and then go! 2. If you need to mail something quick and can deal with some questions and buttons...and don't have any special requests...use the self mail machine in the other room where the mailboxes are located 3. Sometimes mailing priority is cheaper ...use the designated free boxes...all boxes are labeled a certain price and it can be as heavy as you want..as long as it fits in the box. 4. If you are mailing something overnight.. you need to fill out a form. They have forms opposite of the front counter by the window. Otherwise they will ask you to step aside and fill one out when you get up there. 5. Bring your own pen, marker, supplies to save money. Pack at home! You can also pick up free priority boxes and pack at home and take them in another day! read more

The customer service was terrible. I had a package delivered to my old apartment that was literally across the street after I had already moved out. Since I didn't live there anymore, I didn't have the keys to open the mailbox that it was delivered to. I went to this post office to tell them that I had a package delivered to my old mailbox but I couldn't access it since I didn't have the key anymore. The person told me that he could tell the carrier to pull the package out of the mailbox and I could pick it up there. I gave him my contact information and he said he would call me once the package comes back. I never got a call. I tried calling them multiple times but there was always a busy tone. I went there a few days later and asked about the package. He then told me that the carrier forgot to pull out the package, and that they would pull it out by the next day. I waited a few more days, which turned into a couple weeks after my first visit, and I still never received a phone call. Again, I tried calling them back but the busy tone was still there. I drove back down again to ask about it. This time, this lady who I think was the supervisor, told me the exact same thing, that the carrier would pull out the package and I could pick it up once it comes back. I told her that I had come before, and was told the exact same thing and never received a call about it, and that the package was never taken out of the mailbox. She told me that it was because there are multiple carriers and not all of them might have gotten the message. It's been 2 weeks, so don't you think the first carrier who got the message would have had enough time to get the package out? She then told me that she knows exactly which carrier was making the round that day, so she would call him to give him the message. She told me that I should expect a call from her about the package in an hour or two. I never got the call. It was after I called the general USPS Customer Service line and the local consumer relations line that it got closer to the package actually getting out of the mailbox. Even after consumer relations called them about my issue, I was told that I should get a call from them by the end of 3 days. The call still never came. I had to call them myself and FINALLY got an answer after 3 weeks of trying to call them, that they told me that my package was at the post office and was ready to be picked up. Luckily I only lived 20-30 minutes away that I was able to go there whenever I wanted to. Otherwise, given the phone situation, it would have taken much longer. I gave 1 star only because I got my package in the end, even though it took 3 weeks after my first visit. read more

There are certain trials and tribulations everyone learns growing up, and one of those is the intense hate some adults have garnered for the Postal Service. Growing up with a young, liberal heart, I would have figured I would see the endearing effort in everyone's trade, however I see that the workers of the Post really don't want to do any work. Walking in the door, unlike other Post offices, you can feel your optimism and positivity get sucked right out of you. None of the employees want to be there; since it is a federal crime to harass federal workers, the better part of the cashiers turn their noses up at everyone. The two bald gentlemen working are the exemplification for this, with me always trying to plan my spot in line to get someone else. I am the type who prefers to make jokes while at the register, which are always met with cold stares or awkward silence. I have heard of the many types of social privilege in society, and I do not believe in any of them, not by a longshot, they are all reasons that lesser persons can try to get ahead by way of strategic whining. I do, however, believe in Postal privilege, what a form of bullying! It is just like DMV privilege. If people were able to heckle "Federal" (Hah) employees as much, maybe we would have more enjoyable, responsible persons working on the post. I need to check out UPS. read more

I just had a horrible experience w/ one of the workers there & it was all over the phone! I have not been getting my mail for over a week & knew there was a problem today when my brother's check didn't arrive; this prompted me to call the USPS customer service #. They document my concern & shortly after I get a call back from the local post office from this fellow named Craig. He tells me the mail carrier has been unable to get into the receptacle for whatever reason so they're holding my mail. I ask the guy if my husband can go pick it up. He tells me he's unable to release my brother's check to me & that my brother has to be the one to pick it up. I said fine but my brother is not here @ the moment. Then this crazy guy ( I dont know who he thinks he is) feels the need to go off on me! He says so your brother doesn't live w/u? I'm going to have to report you cuz what you're doing is illegal! WTF?! This fucker caught me off guard! His voice was very intimidating (well trying to be anyway). He then further threatened me & said if my bro didntt come w/in a day then he was sending his check back. Ok, it's New Years Eve & they are closed tomorrow. Besides they have to hold mail 10 days before sending it back. I was pissed! I called him back and went off & asked him since when is it illegal to use a relative's mailing address? This pycho kept saying I'll see u Monday. I just filed a complaint w/ consumer affairs. It's evident to me that this jerk off was just trying to bully me. Public Service Announcement...This Post Office Is One of The Worst! People are rude as hell and the culture needs some change. I have been dealing with them for the past couple of months due to a broken mailbox. They delievered our mail to a broken mailbox. I had to call it in....Not the carrier..WTF? My property management purchases a new one. Guess what? Now we have to wait for the maintenance crew to come around and install the main lock. Call them up and they can't even give me an ETA. No customer service. Most of the people, over the phone especially, act as if they don't even care if they keep their jobs or not. Long lines at Christmas time, but that is to be expected; however, I would have expected more than just 2 postal clerks handling all those customers. Picked up a registered mail that was shredded on the side. Not realizing it was actually fully cut open, I went home like an idiot. The tag my boyfriend has been waiting for was gone! They cancel all my mail, every single piece and send it all back, don't even hold it for ten days. Where's my checks, bills, registration to vehicle???? No one knows.
