This location is anything but convenient. Not many parking spaces in front. No mailbox outside to drop off mail to avoid going inside or after hours. No self service kiosk to avoid getting in line. I was in this week to buy extra postage for a few letters. The office was busting at the seams. Boxes sticking out everywhere. I almost didnt want to leave my envelopes because who knows when they'll make it out. 2 stars because customer service was pretty good. I hope I never have to come back. read more

I'm not sure what's up with this specific post office, but I always worry when I send things from it. I've had packages not make it to their final destination when sent from here. Once, I sent something to Hawaii and it got sent all the way to Tennessee and back before it made it there. I've only ever had issues from this post office, so if it's something important, I try not to send it from here. Otherwise, the workers always seem nice and it's easy to get in and out really quickly! read more

I've been using this Post Office for over 20 years, and they are the best at handling my postal needs, especially i love to go in and just say hi to the front counter personnel, because they know I love to get a good laugh and we all have fun and there is nothing like going into a Post Office and having fun while you wait to take care of business. Do yourself a favor and when you go to the Lemon Grove Post Office, say something pleasant to the staff, because they deal with a lot of people from all over the world and they could use some pleasant customers that will bring a smile to them and it wonderful to see them smile as well. I have recently stop going to this post office. A few weeks back it took nearly three weeks for a package I shipped to be delivered ( it should have taken only 3 days). Each time I went to this post office to inquire about why it was delayed they didn't have any answers. I could see from my tracking information that the package was just sitting somewhere and I didn't understand why, and their management people couldn't explain it to me. So I start using FedEx. In the past this post office was my go to place to mail any packages. I trusted the service, I had a great rapport with the agents but now I don't feel confident in their delivery process. read more

This postmaster/manager at this location is the worst human being I've ever met. She's power, hungry, and completely abuses her power. My husband is currently on deployment and I have not been able to receive any of his letters. Or any of our mails because they want us to move our mailbox, literally less than three steps away from our garage door.. and yet they have no proof of showing that our mailbox was moved in the first place. One of their staff literally told me that if the postmaster wanted the mail to be delivered at where we have it currently she would, but she just doesn't want to. This is bullying to the highest order. But because it's a government agency obviously no one is watching over this guys and what they do. Customer service and compliance is literally out of zero. And there's really no way to complain and report this abuse of power because guess what the complaints just goes back to her. read more

Parking can be challenging depending on time of day. There's parking in the back, but then you have to walk through the alley where the homeless have set up camp. As far as the employees at the counter, the Hispanic woman with glasses is rude and snippy, but the two Hispanic guys there seem friendly. read more

What a bummer because I had to wait in line, then wait in line some more, wait, wait, and then I finally I got my stamps. Pretty rude workers, they don't answer their phone when you call. When you have issues they give you attitude and tell you to stop making mistakes. Also our mail person keeps delivering other peoples mail in our mail who haven't lived here in years and when you put notes that they no longer live here they don't care and put it back in your mail box. read more

For years I have been trying to get this post office to pick up my scheduled deliveries. Excuse after excuse after excuse. The customer service manager, Claudia, is a joke. She ignores my calls, my emails, and when I go to the post office to cshe is shockingly "not there." I thought it was just me having these problems, but much of the other reviews on Yelp have the same issues; bad customer service, deliveries not being picked up, missing mail, lazy mail carriers, etc. It's not all the mail carriers. I have to say mine went on vacation and during that time my packages were delivered and they carriers were friendly. It's those bad apples that give the whole a bad name. My local post office that I have been using since living in Spring Valley the last 20 years. I am an avid comic book collector that has bought and sold many books throughout the years. Most in the last two years due to the comic book industry just exploding. Many key issues have easily doubled or tripled in value. A lot of it because of popular movies and TV shows of the comic books they are based on. So I come here to mail out packages. Mostly priority with tracking numbers attached. One package runs me around five bucks a pop. If you need help mailing any items, etc. They will let you know the best way to go about it. I usually come in the mornings in the middle of week. There is sometimes a line. But the post office crew have been there for years. They knock out the line pretty fast. The parking in front is limited but there are also parking spots in the back of the post office. If you are not necessarily in a hurry. Park in the back. Not the friendliest bunch but they are friendly enough. They definitely have a cast of characters working there. They do however know their job and they do it efficiently. Never had any issues all these years going there. I will continue coming here to do business. read more

RANT!!!! I get a letter in the mail today saying my dog had an encounter with the mail carrier and they CCed animal control which has not happened my dog hasn't even seen a mail carrier on my property yet!!! When I'm home I'm with her and she has gone places with me if I'm not home I leaver he in my room with the door SHUT!!! I get to the post office to recieve my mail and asked them for the form I was supposed to fill out! they only give me my plexus and my other envelopes(in the photos below) ares Missing! Then they tell me I NEED to rent a PO Box or move my Mailbox! I requested to speak the supervisor named Claudia!!! As I am waiting I look down at my package and "7/3 HOLD! sprayed dog" I went into flames!!! My dog was never sprayed by anyone!!!! I asked the supervisor and she tells me the mail carrier reported my dog ATTACKED HER so the mail carrier sprayed her! I told her the story I witnessed! MY dog LOVES PEOPLE! I get mail carrier don't know that they need to precaution BUT I had my dog on a leash I was getting ready to leave!!! FRAN AND I were there when the carrier approached in his vehicle and never got out!! They just took off!! This a fraudulent report!!! Supervisor corrected me and said the carrier was a she! Which I in turn said well I would have known that had they gotten out of the vehicle!! My dog didnt attack anyone she was with me all day I never saw her get sprayed!!! I proceeded to tell her if my dog got sprayed I would have to immediately take her to the vet the mace would burn her!! She said and quote "We don't use mace we use dog spray" I asked her what the "dog spray contains" in which she told and quote "I don't have to tell you!" I ask to see the report and what kind of dog she refused to tell me and told me I don't have the right to see it! I come home contacted USPS thank you Brittany Riggs thank you for your help! where I found out! I'm suppose to get a letter as redemption letter, and their method of protection is in fact MACE and I have the right to know the kind of dog reported! I went back to post office and requested the same supervisor! She wouldn't even come up to the window!!! I could barely here her! I asked her to step up to the window she legit took 1 baby step! I ask if she was afraid? She said "oh no no" and walked up completely I told her I contacted USPS and not even kidding HER FACE was like a deer in headlights!!! I told her she didn't follow her protocol! She was suppose to send me a letter for redemption before she contacted animal control! "Not with an attack that's MY decision as the postmaster here" I proceeded to tell her "you told me mace wasn't the dog spray you supposedly used on my dog according to USPS Mace is your method of protection for your carriers" her response was "it's Pepper spray" I started laughing "honey! I know your not that stupid they are the same thing the police department uses it t protect themselves too! If I'm fact you sprayed my dog with pepper spray you needed to make immediate contact and contact the vet! Which you did not!" Her response "we sent you a letter" I said yeah and CCed animal control which wasn't necessary because my dog never went to the vet because she never got sprayed because she didn't attack a carrier!!! I also asked you for what kind of dog and you said I didn't have the right which again according to USPS I Do! So can please go and get it!" She went and got it and I asked where she was maced her response "you were standing right there when it happened" I SAID " IF I WAS STANDING ROGHT THERE WHEN IT HAPPENED SHE WAS MEXT TO ME ON A LEASH!!!!! I want everything in writing! She wrote on the receipt paper what the dog looked like! I said I want what your sprayed her with! She legit wrote dog spray!! I said no you can write mace! That's what you supposedly maced her with! This lady picked up the paper and said "I don't have to write anything we're done here" put the paper down in front of me and walked away!!!!! POINT of this is not the mailbox or the PO Box it's that they are falsely accusing my dog!! If she would have gotten sprayed that would have been apparent!! and I would have seen it!!!! read more

If I could give zero stars I would! I have lived in lemon Grove for 15 years at a few different addresses. Where we are living now the mailman refuses to deliver mail to us. We have reported this to the lemon Grove office supervisor who's name is Edwin and he has done nothing to help. He promised he would hand-deliver our packages to our door since he could not get our mail carrier to do it and he hasn't followed through with his promise. At this point I blame who ever is running this location. I have reported this issue to consumer affairs after months of trying to be patient. Over it. It's time to hire new people at this location! Also I see a lot of reviews that state they aren't getting things delivered. Go to the USPS website and call the # and they'll file a report with consumer affairs. As post offices go, this is a good one. Staff is always pleasant and helpful. Lines move as quickly as possible. Been going here for 40+ years. I really miss Mike (aka "Cowboy"). He remembered your name and PO box, and was always singing. He lit up the place! They don't deliver mail to my home, so I can't comment on that. My one complaint is that the PO boxes are dirty and should be cleaned and sanitized every now and then. read more

Always busy, always a line and the parking is terrible. At least there is a drive-through mailbox drop-off. The thing that really irritates me though is the overzealous clerk who works behind the counter. I won't drop any names but you'll know him if you meet him. He's the one chatting away with customers while the line grows, the guy who always has some bizarre, irrelevant comment about what you're mailing. We went on vacation and I placed our mail on hold. I went in this week to get it and the worker handed me a packet of mail. There were 3 pieces that were ours and the rest were addressed to a bunch of different people. So I took it back and asked if they had any for us. The Supervisor said no but he would talk to our carrier and call me back. He still hasn't. Then that day I go to check our mailbox and there were the weekly ad flyers and some other letters. They lie and say they are the only ones there working. They do not follow through with what they say they are going to. Go some where else and save yourself the aggravation. I think this place could be a much better post office if the clerk I had would put her cell phone down and stop texting. She was very slow at helping me because she was more into texting. Another problem I have wit this is when people are texting at their place of employment their attention to detail is lacking. Her co worker was very fast with her customers and she was not texting. I just thought this was very rude and ridiculous. I wanted to say something but I held my tounge. I would of thought her co workers would say something. I am surprised she is still working there. I recently moved to Lemon Grove and we got a PO Box here. Every employee is super friendly and very helpful. They sem to like their jobs, customers and are happy in their environment. Probably some of the most cheerful USPS workers I have every encountered. I have seen them deal with some unpleasant riff raff off the street; handled the situation in calm, graceful manner.
