The staff are usually nice and things get underway quickly enough that one doesn't feel as though you might die there. I have had to come back here for refunds on shipping costs for packages I've sent to my mother. They have a guarantee and haven't met the timeline three times. So, three out of my five packages have become freebies for me. I ship from here because it's convenient and my mom worked for the PO for a long time. They have a lot of BS to deal with, as the PO is way too top heavy. The folks with whom we deal in the stores and the carriers catch a lot of flak, so I try to be nice and patient. Their prices are still pretty competitive, too. I also ship here because they'll redeliver so that my mom doesn't have to try and pick up packages if they come when she's not home.

There are loooong lines of confused people with the wrong amount of postage or are missing mail or can't pay their rent or have traveled an hour to pick up a package. The clerks are usually the grumpiest people you will encounter all day. Nothing is pleasant or convenient... but not at this post office! The lines might be 4-6 deep but are speedy and not full of negative people. The clerks are always cheerful, helpful and generally positive. The parking lot has the entrance/exit aligned with the drive-up mail boxes that sends me directly to the stoplight for Central Ave. Very convenient!!! Then the other day I shipped a family heirloom from the store to my son in Boston. Alas, it got waylaid and even with the tracking number and insurance, neither my son there nor I here could locate it. So I went back to the store on Grand for help and to "complain," and without hesitating the staff jumped to help and in less than five minutes the shipment had been tracked down in Boston. Lu even called me with an update too! Now the issue will be resolved.
