I asked her to weigh the package to make sure I had enough postage and, I kid you not, she would not do it. The Post Office would not weigh a package for me. She said they only do that "if it's really heavy or something." LOL. If we're going to guess at weight, I'll just do that from home. Also, she could not spare any tape for me to put the label on, which ok, but really? She told me I had to "purchase it myself." LOL. I left, feeling totally defeated and without mailing my package, so I guess that's a W for her. I shall never return, so she can enjoy torturing other "customers." Really, truly, in all sincerity, do not ever go here.

If anyone knows a well staffed, quick-serviced USPS, please let me know!! With that being said.. this post office is on the smaller end.. Usually only one customer service worker up front. Sometimes two... Let me tell you..the lines can get quite long. Since this location is somewhat small, they also have a smaller selection of post office supplies than other ones I've been to. The selection of flat rate boxes, priority boxes etc...are pretty bare. Tip: you can order USPS shipping supplies online at no cost. It does take almost 10 days to get to you, but you can order a bunch of stuff that you can't find in store. Also, if you ship priority, make sure to use their tape. Don't waste your money on tape. If you go at less busy times, this place can be wonderful, but..if you run into issues..be ready to WAIT! I've waited 45+ minutes here before... Especially when you run into people who's getting their passport. If you live near the U campus, it might be a better option to go to the one in Coffman. That one is better staffed, but not a lot of shipping supplies.. probably less than this one here. With that said, USPS usually delivers the cheapest shipping...so the wait is usually worth it. So if you got time..come here.

It is daily doing the work to uphold that belief. Here are my highlights, condensed into a list so I don't ramble and end up crying. 1. Free, easy to find and access parking!!! You park your car in this little parking garage and then are a hop, skip, and jump away from the Post Office itself. 2. This building could be a museum. Have you ever seen a post office with a DIRECTORY!? 3. The worker was SO KIND TO ME and got me my book of American flag stamps with such joy. At the end of our transaction he handed them to me and said, here you go happy lady. Which melted my heart. 4. Standing height counters to write on!!! I was able to get my letters out of my bag and address and stamp them in-house, and send them off with confidence into the mail slot. 5. One more time, have you ever seen a more beautiful post office!?! I am about to move to Minneapolis just to go here every chance I get.

There are loooong lines of confused people with the wrong amount of postage or are missing mail or can't pay their rent or have traveled an hour to pick up a package. The clerks are usually the grumpiest people you will encounter all day. Nothing is pleasant or convenient... but not at this post office! The lines might be 4-6 deep but are speedy and not full of negative people. The clerks are always cheerful, helpful and generally positive. The parking lot has the entrance/exit aligned with the drive-up mail boxes that sends me directly to the stoplight for Central Ave. Very convenient!!! And every time I visit I spend $14 on pretty stamps.

Hello, I have lived here for more than 20 years and never had a negative experience until today…read more There is no longer any parking available in the lots. There used to be one or two for short term drop offs. Today, I was picking up stamps and after about 3 minutes the younger man in a blue sweater started yelling at me to leave as I had parked in a USPS spot. I asked where customers are to park now? The older, kinder gentleman said customers are to park in the ramp down the street. I was about to pay for my stamps when the younger man, ranted at me to leave and NOT buy anything from them. Then he was outside watching me get into my car-in an empty lot-without my purchases. I will never go back to this place. No one deserves to be yelled at or told they can't buy your product. It seems that the man's job was to patrol an empty parking lot from the rule breakers who simply want stamps. I suggest bringing back the 2 spots you used to have. It's a short parking stay for a post office visit.

This is my neighborhood post office but recently I have had some real issues with extremely slow…read moredelivery - like a month to deliver a letter to some one who lives a few blocks from the post office in the same zip code. On two occasions within 3 months I have had very slow - like 3 weeks to a month - delivery to people living in the same zip code as the post office. In both cases these contained checks for services such as yard work. In both cases I dropped off the letters in the mail slot INSIDE the building. In both cases I had to hand deliver new checks to the individuals as they needed to be paid. Also we frequently get mis delivered mail at our house. I do not feel I can rely on USPS anymore.
