The director refuses to address any issues that are brought to her attention. She often blames concerns on state regulations that do not exist. She also continually changes her mind with regard to plans, and leaves families feeling unheard and disrespected. Her lack of ability to serve as a manager is highlighted by the high staff turnover, which she refuses to take any responsibility for, or even notify families of in a timely manner. As a result, there is no consistency for students and they are left without the necessary psychology safety when at CDA. The co-director is equally ill-equipped at child care and creates an environment where children are scared of her. Exacerbating all of this is the COO's complete lack of oversight of her staff. She refuses to take charge in matters, and will not intervene, even if families raise concerns. Families are not included in their children's learning, and when ideas are raised they are outright dismissed. Our experience at this school resulted in lasting emotional and psychological damage for our child that we are continuing to address via therapy.

It's been a difficult time for childcare providers and my partner and I were supportive and understanding until he started having behavioral issues (that were age appropriate per our doctor). I meat once with the director and COO to discuss and they told me in that meeting that the solution would be moving him to the next age group class where there's a consistent lead teacher. The director told me at that time that in her 20+ years of teaching she hadn't had this much difficulty with a kid, which felt unprofessional and unhelpful to hear. She mentioned as an afterthought that if he "started throwing furniture" (which he never has done) or was unsafe they would need to ask us to find a new daycare, but reassured me that was the worst case scenario and not expected at this point. We continued to be in close communication with his new lead teacher about both "good" and "bad" days and never were given any specific communication about major safety or behavior concerns that were out of the norm for his age. We got one phone call saying he had a "really tough day" so I asked if I could visit the daycare and observe him and help out. I was told that might not be an option for parents anymore and never heard anything else about being able to visit. After about one month a teacher brought him in from the playground to use the bathroom and wasn't watching/listening for him. He returned to the playground alone and according to the director that was "the last straw." Him going back to the playground was pegged as a "behavior issue" when really staff were not adequately supervising a four year old. The teachers in general are amazing but the leadership handled this whole situation extremely poorly. the day they notified us he needed to find new care, the director said that she should have asked him to leave sooner which was never communicated to us so we could look into other care options. This daycare's leadership failed our son and failed to support their lead teachers and ensure their success in providing safe and supportive care. I do not recommend CDA of little Canada unless their leadership receives coaching and further education on how to manage age-appropriate behavioral issues.

We were told they try and get the estimate within 10% yet this is a 30% increase. We specifically requested an in person walk through ( versus a remote walk though) so they could actually see what needed to be moved to aid them in giving us an accurate estimate . A slight adjustment is to be expected but $2000 is extreme. It is not our fault they miscalculated. We would've gone with a different mover if Metcalf quoted us as much as they are charging now. It makes it seem as if they under bid to secure the job and then charge far more afterwards. Additionally, when we walked through the house after they packed it, several drawers in the kitchen had been left unpacked and totally full. Storage in the family room built in still had items in it. Also, we have missing items including fine dining silver (a wedding gift) and jewelry among other items. Lastly, one of the movers became very argumentative with us after he ripped up the plastic floor protector and refused to put it back down even though they were still moving boxes into the house. Even the other movers were confused by this man's behavior- it was very strange and totally inappropriate. On the plus side, most of the movers were very nice and hard working. The 2 gentlemen who came to unpack were exceedingly nice, worked hard and had great attitudes. Again, the list of the items which may not be replaceable is making this move very difficult. Moving is hard enough as it is, there shouldn't be major issues like these from a company that charges thousands of dollars to supposedly make your move easier . We cannot in good faith, and would not recommend Metcalf Moving and Storage.

The tall guy was overall very abrasive from the start, while the short guy was always really friendly. One of the first things the tall guy said was that we wouldn't make the estimated time and he didn't understand how it was determined, etc... (spoiler: we made time). While moving, I heard a loud noise, like something falling down all the stairs. I asked if something broke and they said "nope, nothing broke." (See attached picture, showing broken piece off of an expensive table). When we finished moving to the new place, I tip handsomely (as I always do) and that did seem to change the tall guy's demeanor.

My wife hired these guys to come and clean our ducts. So today they come out and are two nice guys,…read morevery nice and professional. As far as I can tell they did a good job (not really able to tell if they didn't though). The reason I am giving them two stars is because they did what I hate. First, they tried to up sell me $450 worth of "disinfectant for the ducts that I really needed". I quickly said no thank you. At which point they immediately dropped the price in half. So essentially here is how I see this. We called you and asked you how much to come clean our ducts. You said $220. Then you get here and you inform me that to "really get them clean" it's gonna be an extra $450. This is deception and it's wrong. But then when I say no, you immediately drop the price by $225. So what that tells me is that your business is not based on offering a good product at a fair price. You are just trying to take as much of my money as you possibly can. Again, the guys that came to the house were nice and professional. It's clear that they were just pushing the products their management makes them push in the fashion they are instructed to do it. This however leads me to believe there is an entire culture of ripping off their customers. Consider yourself warned if you hire them to come clean your ducts. FYI: No I did not get even the 1/2 price "disinfectant". Update: 12/29/13: After being contacted by AAA WIcks owner and being accused of this being a fake review I provided proof that this was in fact his company. I'll upload the photo of the sticker they left on our ducts so you all know it was truly AAA Wicks that provided our service.

During my initial phone call to schedule service, I talked at length about the service I wanted,…read moreand I made it very clear that I wanted a "Roto-Brush" air duct cleaning cleaning. I had just purchased the home and wanted to get a great baseline for all of the maintenance and cleaning of it. The previous owner had a dog with a thick coat.. I wanted all of the nooks and crannies of the vents physically touched and cleaned. I was quoted prices for both "Air-Whip" and "Roto-Brush" services, both were average prices for the respective service, and we scheduled an appointment for "Roto-Brush". The guys showed up early for the appointment, which was nice. While they were performing the service, I realized they were using the "air-whip" method, not the "roto-brush". Also, as we had painted most of the house, many of the returns and vent covers were already off. They did not remove the ones that were still installed, and just kind of blew into the vents with their air. Near the end of the service, they took my air filter and pointed at stuff they blew out of the ducts, and identified some of it as "mold" based on the color of the dirt. It wasn't mold.. it was soot, and I declined their expensive up-sell attempt to rectify my "mold" situation. I kept watching, waiting for the roto-brush to make it's appearance. It never did. When they proclaimed they were finished and presented me the bill for the service, the price was that of the quoted Roto-Brush service. I asked about why they used the air-whip and they were adamant (borderline defensive) that they never do roto-brush, and that the air-whip was just as good. I personally disagree that no-contact cleaning is just as good as a cleaning where surfaces are contacted with something other than fast-moving air. Looking at the statement, I saw that the billing code for the cleaning was "RB1"... I said, "hmmm.. I wonder what that RB stands for... probably roto brush?" to which he said, "yeah, probably". I ended up having to call the office. I talked to the same guy who had scheduled me a few days earlier and recapped our previous conversation. Once I had him on the same page, I informed him what happened, and he seemed at a loss. I ended up putting the service tech on the phone with him (my personal cell phone), and the service tech took it into the other room. I could still hear both of them, and an argument took place between them. After the call, the service tech amended the price to the "air-whip" price, which was quite a bit less than what they had just tried to charge me. I paid, they left. As they were leaving, the techs were audibly grumbling between themselves about how they made less money. I felt they could have at least waited till they were out of ear shot before complaining that they were not successful in separating me from more of my money they they deserved to. My opinion, based on what I saw and heard during the visit, is that they had been doing this racket for a while, doing less service than the office sold, and convincing unsuspecting customers that they got the service they paid for. In this case, I knew the difference and had the gumption to stand up for myself and make sure I paid for what I got. With air duct cleaning, and any time you pay someone to perform ANY service for you, please make sure you educate yourself as to what to expect and how to identify what they are doing. Had I not known better, I would have gotten ripped off. Even if the billing/work issue had not happened, I'd still rate the quality of their duct cleaning a 2/5, based on the quality of work performed alone. Duct cleaning companies are plentiful,.. do your research, as your friends and neighbors, and choose one that will take care of you and make a long-term customer out of you, not a company that seems to just want to shake you down and move onto the next job. I would have loved for them to have taken better care for me, as next year, I will be starting my hunt for another company all over again.
