What a joke of a US Post office. The disgusting female manager who works weekends goes above and beyond to anger customers who are only there to find out why their package was lost. It felt like a child was instigating to pick a fight. Argumentative, called multiple customers liars, and refused to address any of my current issues. She told me to go to another post office if I wanted my issue to be resolved. I asked to file a complaint and she said "I just took your complaint." What a joke. She should be ashamed of herself. My review is about applying for a passport. Poor communication when we called ahead before heading to the post office. Just said "Be here by 8 and hung up". When we went there in person they told us "Sir we are no longer accepting passport applications today". The rude lady at the passport told us "There are 20 people ahead of you that signed up in the morning. You should have been here at 6.30". Thanks for the information. Update I went to this same post office in the morning at 6.30 and not a single soul was there. I went in today to get my infant son's passport completed and to renew my own passport. Jim was very knowledgable and knew his stuff! My baby was crying when it was my turn to turn in my paperwork...but Jim made me feel comfortable and that I had completed everything fine (it's quite a stressful event since you are sending off super important life documents....and it ain't cheap!...add a crying 11 week old who kept spitting the pacifier out!)... I would give it 5 stars, but there was a LOOOOONG wait. This post office doesn't do appointments anymore (only walk-ins starting at 9:00-1:00 Mon-Fri). ...and they only take the first 35 applicants. This time frame really limits the working parents from getting this done. I arrived around 9:30am, and still waited about 3 hours until I was seen. When we left, I overheard Jim say he would take the remaining long line of applicants ....which would mean he'd have to stay way past the 1:00pm end time.....that seemed very nice of him to do on such a hectic busy day. ask for Jim.... nice guy =) read more

Don't come on your lunch break. No one is in a hurry to do anything. Also ask someone of you aren't sure what line you need to be in. What a mess... I have been trying for a week to get passports for my sons and I. We were almost there yesterday, on the premise it operated like most other government agencies for walk-ins. To double-check myself, I pulled up the website. It said "appointment required," and I panicked. Given all of my boys are school-age, I turned around, got them to school slightly late, and decided to set an appt if possible for today, Friday. After quite a while of searching for more info on their and other passport office websites, I still wasn't sure whether walk-ins were accepted or whether appointments were necessary. I tried to call multiple times, but was redirected to an "operator," where the phone rang a few times before going to a busy tone. Today, we arrived at 8 am. We can inside, went over to the passport area, and then I - totally my fault - realized I had left the passport pictures at home. There were maybe four or five people already there, so my ex stayed with our boys while I raced home. He said no one said anything to him, and he eventually took the boys outside to wait. I got back in about 20 minutes, and we went inside, only to discover that no one bothered to tell us that there was a sign-up sheet. If we'd been told, we could have gotten ours done from 8:40-9:20. Instead, the first slot was 9:40, more than hour away. The attendant told us to sign upand come back when our time was - after very clearly having pulled our boys out of school. Frustrated, but trying to find a solution, I asked if they had the Monday sign in sheet. She said no, same day only. I expressed my frustration with being unable to reach anyone. She said, "Oh, well, I don't know what number you were calling then." When I went to pull up the number, she added, "Not like anyone here actually answers it, though, even if we are here." Though honest, it felt very unprofessional and cold. "If you're coming on Monday, get here at 7 am. It gets really busy, and you won't get a spot." Overall, know that the post office does not care to explain its proceedings and apparently purposely doesn't answer their info line. Even the main USPS line is just a robotic system that will only text you the direct website, nothing more. If you are wanting to get a passport, be prepared to show up early to reserve your spot, or go early on the day you want and reserve a spot that works well for you. Overall, very disappointed and frustrated, because a lot of these struggles could have been avoided. Most of all, very upset by the callous attitude of the attendant. I acknowledge my part in not having everything together. The indifferent attitude and ready acknowledgement of ignoring their phones was salt in the wound. I'll be coming back on one of the kids' holidays. No point wasting more of their school time for this mess... read more

I would definitely NOT recommend going her unless you have to. I have been here multiple times for lost packages. Package that say they have been delivered but never got them. Everytime they told me it should be delivered in my mail box, then get a call 15 mins later saying they have it at the station- WTF!? Everytime I have gone there- 2 people working with a line practically out the door- super slow, and no one cares to try to hurry it up. Be ready for a 30min wait most times of the day. My latest adventure, was to get a passport for my daughter, went online to prep the forms, and of course the only station near me was this station. Online says they start a 8 am Mon-Fri. 1st attempt, in at 8 am- sign on the door saying passport office is close for that day. Went in the next day at 10am- not taking anymore applicants. 3rd day, in at 8am, sign on the door stating that from this day on passports will start @ 9am from here to the end of the year. I sign in and wait... 9am rolls around... 9:10am... 9:20am- no one has open the passport office, so I ask- was told to wait patiently- I told them that I have been patient, and becoming impatient due to their lack of attention to detail. 9:30am doors open, they are 30 mins late- but the Post Office doesn't care- we are on their time right!? our time doesn't matter to them... why should they care? i was fourth on the list - and they just finished their 2nd person. Finally get to us- and they say that they need photo copies of the parents passports- the online instructions and the form instructions only state you have to have copies of the Passport Applicants proof of citizenship. Top it off they won't make 2 photo copies for you... I waited 2.5 hours and I come back to do it all over again... because of 2 photo copies. No photocopies at any sation in the area, FedEx and UPS does, too bad they can't do passports. I thought the DMV was bad. I would recommend using FedEx or UPS (wish they did passports)- this place just isn't worth the horrible gov't employee service. read more

I needed to get my passport for a long time, but due to a weird name issue, I didn't think it would work out. After months of searching for a solution, I gave up, and I took everything I had to the passport agent, Jim, at the Round Rock post office. In addition to being efficient, and showing excellent time management abilities, Jim was extremely friendly! We were in and out in record time, and he left me feeling as though all was going to be fine! Sure enough, everything *was* fine! My passport has shown up with the correct name, and all is right with the world! If you have to get a passport in Austin, save yourself the trouble and drive to Round Rock. It was worth the trip! This is the worst post office ever. I've lived here three years and in three years I've made several complaints and now I'm just sick of it. They've lose numerous packages that say they've been delivered and for this particular one I've been in three times and they keep telling me they're going to call me and I've yet to receive a call. This is the worst post office Ive ever had to encounter. I love ordering offline and half of my packages never get delivered to the right malilbox. I either have to take a package to the right address or go up to the post office where the staff up there act like they do not care about the hard earned money that you spend and "cant do anything but alret the carrier" when the carriers could care less. The service here is always impressive. The line is usually long but they are very good and getting the line down quick. I don't use the post office much, so I am not always sure how to do everything, but the people are very helpful and friendly. I do t dread my trips to the post office and I prefer to send US Mail to help support USA. read more

It's a post office.. you come here for letters and stamps and lines, but my timing always gets me here when workers are going on break and a large line shows up with me. Coincidence or Conspiracy? All kidding aside they get busy here and the workers do their best to help fast in a friendly manner. Over time I have learned how to use the self-service postal machine in more basic times when I am not shipping something overseas. Worst postal service ever. Had a package coming from California, the mail person marked my address as "undeliverable" for absolutely no reason. Upon redelivery, they marked it with "addressee unknown" for, again, no reason. I have officially changed my address through USPS. I arranged for pick up instead, but they just returned to the sender in California. This should not be happening. And now I have to pay more money to get it re-shipped, and will probably go through this whole debacle again. INCOMPETENT. read more

Basically I've been sitting in line for almost 25 minutes. There is a line of about 35 people and only one guy working named Randall Who disappeared while there was 35 people waiting in line a lot of unhappy customers there this morning as we all tried to get things accomplished and nothing could be done I was told that I have to have a hard copy of my lease agreement even though I signed it with doc you sign electronic signature I had my lease agreement on my phone and that wasn't good enough I basically sat in line for 20 minutes to find out that they can't do anything for me and that I can't get my mailbox key when I move into my new place tomorrow this place is a joke and very understaffed read more

It's still a post office so I can't give it 5 stars but man this place is miles ahead of that nightmare on Sam Bass. What a great little post office, probably because it's fairly new and no one knows about it yet. Once they read this review I'm sure it'll be packed :) Anyways Shirley is sooooo helpful, she helped me with my lost mail that Sam Bass screwed up. She fixed that right up for me in about 10 minutes while those idiots (Tiffany/Loring Sneed) at Sam Bass wanted me to fill out more change of address forms. She also helped me track packages right over the phone and was very apologetic that Sam Bass screwed up when it wasn't even her fault. A great woman and very pleasant to deal with. Passport screw up! I made an appointment, showed up at the correct time, and was helped within 10 minutes of my scheduled time. Everything seemed to go smoothly. The lady who processed my application seemed to have everything in order and even complimented me on how organized I was and that I showed up with everything I needed. Unfortunately, she neglected to send my original birth certificate and gave it back to me, claiming I didn't need it. I trusted that she knew what she was talking about, since she's the expert. So I recently got a letter from the State Department requesting this missing document and it is holding up the processing of my passport. I'm not sure if this was a simple mistake or if she is neglecting this important documentation on everybody's passport. Either way, this is inconvenient and disappointing. read more

The level of incompetence at this post office is astounding! I went to Europe on vacation and signed up to have my mail held at the post office for 3 weeks. I went into the post office before I left to confirm that they could see that I needed my mail held. They said they could, but I should fill out another form, which I did. Guess what? I came home to 3 weeks worth of mail stuffed and bent into my mailbox. They had no record of a hold. They recently lost a package that was sent to me with tracking. Tracking showed that it was out for delivery and then back at the post office. I went to the post office twice and was told each time that the person who could help me was out. I went back a third time and was told by this person that they would "have a look around" for the package. I received a phone call 2 days later saying that they "...could not locate it. Sorry." I was told to go online and file a claim. For a $30 item it really is not worth the time and aggravation. This place is wonderful if you have an envelope with a stamp on it and need to put it in a mailbox. Anything more complicated than that will require UPS or Fedex. read more

I was supposed to have a package delivered yesterday. My tracking number and everything was updated to say that it had been left in a parcel locker. When I checked my mail there was no key left to unlock the parcel locker. My husband and myself have both been trying to call this office all day without any luck. We originally started calling the 800 number until I found the "direct" number for this location. The phone rings and rings with no answer. Neither my husband or myself can leave work to go to the post office to try to speak to anyone, so what good is having a phone if they aren't going to answer? It would be one thing if this has never happened before, but my husband owns a small business that is running out of our house. He is all the time expecting deliveries, and this happens more than is acceptable. I understand we are all human and we all make mistakes, but COME ON!!! Why is it SO hard to do your job? This seems to be an all the time occurrence that needs to be FIXED. This is unacceptable! Sometimes it's worth paying a little extra and use FexEx or UPS since they seem to be more reliable. read more

I submitted an online request in December to change my address. TWICE, DPS has attempted to mail my drivers license and it has been returned. Today I sat on hold for FIFTY MINUTES with the USPS Toll Free number... they gave me the number here to call the manager as I am unable to physically go in to the Post Office. I have called 18 times so far and either it rings and rings with no answer, eventually going to a busy signal or it is busy. I am more than frustrated and cannot believe that I am now taking a chance once again, to have my drivers license mailed! If it is not delivered this time, I will be forced to physically go in to the DPS and resubmit all paperwork AND PAYMENT in order to receive my license. Absolutely RIDICULOUS!!! read more

Called in cause I thought maybe I dropped my Birth Certificate nearby cause the last time i saw it was when I made a passport here. Apparently I didn't notice the guy took my BC and needs to file it in with my application to get my passport. It will come in the mail along with my passport. Well the lady one the phone was quite abrupt but she answered my question. Even thanking her for helping me have a peace of mind that I wasn't crazy enough to put my BC in the shredder after just having it for a few days was hard. She apparently didn't want to be thanked or shown gratitude... Don't waste your time trying to sign-up for a passport here. You have to stand in line to sign-up for a time slot when they open and, if you get one, you have to drive back at your designated time slot. That's the only way it works; no booking appointments in advance. TIP: Just go to the International Office at UT; you can walk-up and usually be out within 30 minutes. Wish I would've checked Yelp before wasting a trip to USPS. read more

Wow, how do you loose a certified letter? When I went to pick up the certified letter, the guy behind the counter had no clue where to look and just kept shuffling through the same three piles. Called back a few days latter, spoke to the same guy who pretended not to know anything about the situation. They still can't find my letter. read more

Unreliable, never answer their phone, complain about doing scheduled pickups or don't bother showing up at all. Customer service is basically nonexistent because it's impossible to get a hold of anyone. If you go in person to get help, they tell you they can't do anything. Ridiculous! We went to this Post Office to apply for a passport. We received excellent customer service from Oanh. She was very patient & caring as she explained the process to a large group of people. Unfortunately they do not take reservations so if you want to be "guaranteed" a spot, you really must arrive around 4:00 AM (bring a lawn chair ha). Around 7:45ish, someone will come out with a clipboard for people to select their time slot. What will make the process go really fast is for you to have all your paperwork: 1. Fill out the application in black ink (or typed) 2. Copy of front & back of drivers license (on one page) 3. Copy of birth certificate (front & copy) AND by copy, they mean xerox copy- not two "certified" copies of birth certificate. In other words, one certified certificate and a xerox copy. 4. They DO take cash. The only reason I don't give them a 5 star rating is because they don't take reservations and they don't give you a heads up about copies needed for birth certificate. I was one of the lucky set of parents/guardians who got to renew their child's passport on the morning of 11/25. Others were not so lucky and I sympathize with them. In any case, I wanted to thank the USPS staff for deftly managing the situation, as it is (with frustrated parents/guardians to start the day/thanksgiving week off). Yes, there is something out there that says to come from 9am-1pm. No, don't bother. It's closed for good. Oh, and do go to Pfluegerville. Dismal. Impossible to get an appointment for new passport service for a child. Phone is always busy, and their only solution is to physically come in to make an appointment for the following week. There has to be a better solution. Honestly, service for passports is better OUTSIDE the US than in. I renewed mine a few years ago in an embassy because I was living in another country - quicker service, nicer people, more professional.
