When I get packages that require a signature, they regularly leave a notice in my mailbox that is two blocks from my house instead of knocking on my door and asking for a signature. I even signed up for USPS Electronic Signature Online (eSOL) to try to avoid this nightmare and they still ignored my request and left yet another notice in my mailbox. Will never use this post office again. They measured our package incorrectly and over charged us for shipping. They then called us to fix their mistake, first two people we spoke with were fine but then some man called us and told us to quote "come up here and say this to my face, see what happens." I believe this to still be a solid post office location. I know there are complaints about wait times. But keep in mind that this is a small location and employees at the front counter have to take care of issues that come up in the back sometimes, which takes them away from helping us in the front. Also, just because an employee shows up in the front area, it doesn't mean they are qualified to wait on customers. If you need expediency and find a long line, go to the large post office on Whitestone. For me, I'm coming here. Customer service has always been good for me, and the parking has been easy. read more

I have lived here for about 3 years. Where I came from in Georgetown, they had the worst post office (took a long time to actual GET mail there, even if mailed from one state over. I mailed out wedding invitations and took forever to get to people). And, I first moved here, the service at this location was not that great. I liked the bigger parking lot and ease of getting in and out. But, the people behind he counter then, did not look happy at all, as was not that pleasant when you approached them. They did not seem happy to be working there. Well, this last two week, it seems they have done a complete "180" since then. I had to go in to get stamps for my Christmas cards, and then returned to ship packages (twice) and got Amanda all three times. But, while waiting in line, I heard the other two agents helping other customers, and all of them said when approaching the counter "Sorry for your wait". And, then was very nice to all I heard. But, Amanda was so nice to me. First time was simple transaction for just stamps. But, second time, one of my packages, I had the wrong zip code, and she looked it up and corrected it for me (Whew!). I thanked her for it. Third time, was again so seamless! I verified all info on the screen each time, and got all my packages shipped for the holidays! Leander post office surely is one of the worst in the country. Having lived in the zip code for 48 years, I know it wasn't always this bad. They do not honor hold mail requests. The last two times I have returned to find the mailbox full of mail that should have been held. The mail carrier will occasionally leave the mailboxes open in this rural area where I have had mail stolen. My last replacement credit card was never delivered, at least not to me. Today another credit card statement was not delivered even though I have photographic proof that it was at the post office and scheduled to be. Occasionally mail is miss delivered, so that's always a possibility. Lastly, they never answer the phone. read more

Since then they've said out for delivery twice now...and now it is back at Leander TX post office!! I shipped the package priority mail which is really a scam by usps to get more money and all you are doing is paying for the 100.00 insurance which you never get anyway...last time I use usps for anything.. Seems all they do is lie!! Yes they call that business!! I hate leaving bad reviews for people who work in the service industry, but the Leander Post Office (as you can see by the overall score) really doesn't believe in customer service. Why? 1) Issues with consistency and quality of delivery. I regularly (before the most recent horrendous issue) would get neighbor's packages and mail, have my neighbors receive my packages and mail, and have to deal with broken package lockers. 2) They absolutely will not answer the phone, and even going through the main USPS line (which will only deal with a specific tracking number) they will take weeks to go bet back to you. The local line is a trap - they, as a policy, let it ring silently and sometimes will call back after hours. 3) Don't try to complain in person. I've been treated rudely by staff and management when surfacing complaints about any of the above. The best you can hope for is *maybe* they didn't return your package or toss it away. 4) Be alert that if you're gone for more than a week or two, they can and will start returning mail to sender with no notice or warning. I'm sure some people have positive experiences with the in-office staff, but that's the exception, not the norm. read more

This rating is for this particular branch, plus the local town mail service. For this location, the staff is friendly even if they look dispirited. Any job where you deal with the public can get you down so the fact that they're courteous counts for a lot with me. That said, they're understaffed and as slow as all get-out. Pick the time to come here wisely. Unfortunately, the local home delivery service is spotty. Mail can get misdirected, packages are placed on the wrong porches or in the wrong boxes. Twice I had a package arrive at a flipped-number address. A flipped-number address is like where if you live at 1209 Main Street, your package could arrive at 1029 Main Street or 1290 Main Street. It's been impossible to fix the problem of getting our mail delivered. I even have an open case with PMG still nothing resolved.

The customer representative was so rude to me. They didn't deliver my package, and I'm waiting now for 3 days for my order and after request the reschedule (via phone call) and submit it they didn't deliver the package again and the last agent told me: "Just go and pick up your package on the office" when I had already explained that the previous agent told me that they closed at 6 pm so I had to request to leave my job earlier (what I did today and when I arrived the schedule was M-F 8 am until 5 pm). I explained that I work until 5 pm and it takes me 49 minutes to arrive to the USPS office where my package is (that they didn't attempt to re-deliver) and she told me in a very terrible tone of voice to "Make time and go" like this whole problem was my fault! I feel so sad. Can't believe that they refer to their customer on this way when is a problem from their side and the agents that they have are terrible and 0 emphatic. read more

We had some issues with our postal service a few years ago. (They actually allowed someone to change our mailing address!!! ) but ever since the guy who used to deliver our subdivisions mail transferred-our service has improved dramatically. Today was a visit inside to mail a package and grab stamps since I was there anyway. To enter the post office a mask is required. Once inside they have mapped out and placed X's on the floor for 6 feet of social distancing between each customer. This put us back in the post office box section of the post office behind 8-10 other customers. I had been in once a couple of months ago and the wait was not unreasonable. Today there were three clerks and a runner so although my husband was antsy & concerned it would be a very long wait, the line progressed reasonably and unless the customer had a lot to send out (which there was one gentleman that had probably 15 packages) And there was one lady that was a "chatty Cathy", we were still out and back to the car having completed our business within 20 minutes. Our postal clerk today was Janice (I believe) and she was very efficient, cheerful & patient. She was in spot two of the clerks-And the hubby had been assisted by her in the past and said she is a very long term postal worker. Anyway all the postal clerks were in very light moods and helpful to the extent possible based on the customer. Overall it was a good experience and seeing all the negative postings on this usps site I was happy to add this positive posting. It can't be easy to go to work day in, day out with Covid on your mind and "is today the day you're going to catch it? " so I really admire all employees who have hung in and hung on during this pandemic. Thanks so much to all the clerks and the postmaster in the Leander post office who serve our community for everything that you do every day!!!! Our mobile clerk rocks, she's professional, you can pretty much count on her to be within a certain time every day and she is just very nice and we really like and appreciate her. What does this pic even mean? I read reviews for the Leander location before. I tried to give them the benefit of the doubt, but... the bad reviews are true. They did send my mail back to senders with no warning. The carrier did leave this poorly handwritten note on my door during a package pickup that blew off the door into my house. Called no answer, but they added a voice guided text to submit a service request. I got a call the next day from Ashley. Bless her heart She apologized and defended the carrier. She said he did his job. Uhh excuse me, but he didn't do his job. He was supposed to leave a note in my mailbox to inform me that he took my mail, held it at the post office and then sent everything back to the senders. But I guess I should thank him because without this cryptic, poorly written note I never would've called to find out that my health insurance cards, w2's, bills, checks, or anything else would never reach my hands. I implore anyone in the Leander area to not bother shipping anything with USPS if possible. This branch has incredibly friendly staff and this doesn't reflect on them, however the mail logistics in this area is quite incompetent. We get daily mis-deliveries and now I've had a package mysteriously vanish without a trace and without even a scan. They don't even communicate with you unless you go in face to face and they just close the investigation and give you a shrug and tell you to wait the minimum waiting period and file a claim. There were multiple people in line with lost packages being told basically oh well. To have this many people complaining at the same time about lost packages is quite telling of what kind of business the USPS is. Going forwards, I will not be doing business with the USPS and I will do all I can to ensure that any shipments to my address go through a private shipper and not USPS. read more

These people do not care about service or your packages. Our package was delayed, we filed an inquiry. The package was marked delayed the same day as the inquiry. The next day we receive an email letting us know they are looking into it. The day after, we are told they disposed of the package. The package was disposed of the day before, they claim it's against their policy to dispose of that quickly, but all they can do is write a letter for us to send to the vendor we ordered from in hopes of the item being replaced. The letter... they put the wrong information on it. Had to have them correct, filed a claim and was denied because the sender didn't use a service that can be claimed. Filed a complaint, and only received a survey asking how they handled the complaint. Pathetic. Went to the post office to ask for more info, "shockingly" the computer wasn't working to take images of the package so they can't show us the reasons for the no delivery, but claim the label was messed up and either unreadable or inaccurate. Still no answers. Refuse to give supervisors names/contact info. Having to go online and research ourselves. read more

My parents travel to Cedar Park to drop off anything of importance simply to avoid this location's lunacy. I want to go drop off a package. It was after hours. The drop slot here is extremely small. Really only designed for legal envelopes are smaller. I tried dropping off two items but the first one got stuck. I tried to stick my arm down it clear it but couldn't. I could see to the bottom where somebody and put the collection bin on the inside of the wall off center to the opening. Instead of catching the packages it was blocking them. In and out in about 6 minutes (after all the negative reviews I timed it to see what I'd experience) and I was quickly helped by Juanita, who was friendly and efficient. Unfortunately my complaint is a ongoing year long issue with my mail person that started last Christmas when he left a package at my backdoor, in the rain! It was my son's X-mas gift, a 500$ leather jacket! When I confronted him about it, his response was, I didn't know it was a leather jacket! Whaaaaa?? Then started arguing that it wasn't raining, of course he didn't want to look at the pics of the soaked box!! Ever since, he will not leave any packages for me! This small, pety, mean bully has been tryto force me to pick up all packages at the post office. My business is open from 7am to 6pm m-f so he's trying to force me to go out unneedlesly on my day off because he didn't like being told he did something wrong! Equally bad is all the people above him that's allowed this behavior to go on! It's truly sad how this person has given all the hard working honest postal workers a bad name, military as well! I'm told hes ex military? Maybe he was kicked out? Idk I have called the 1800# 10-15 times just in the last month and a half, mostly because my grand baby still hasn't received her Xmas gifts from my mom! The package was sent back to her, and now she's waiting for the check I sent her Tuesday last week so she can resend to my son! Evidently, ITS LOST IN THE MAIL!! They keep delivering other people's mail in my mailbox. I'm at 120 Skyview Terrace. Today alone I got mail for not only my own address but for 120 High Gabriel Dr., 124 Skyview Terrace, and 3 for 120 Signal Hill Rd. It leaves me wondering how much of my mail got delivered elsewhere?!!! This isn't the first time, either. I'm tired of having to drive around the neighborhood and deliver the mail. I've had consistent rude and incompetent service from the Leander post office, and today's experience was the final straw from both an experience as well as financial impact! Today I went in with two large boxes (20x20x4). I had already weight checked them at home and looked up pricing at usps.com (not my first rodeo with the Leander post office), but unfortunately ran out of printer ink, so not able to click and ship today. When it was finally my turn, the clerk entered the first package correctly, but did something incorrectly for the second, resulting in a charge almost twice as much as my usps click and ship had shown (AND twice as much as the other package she had JUST rung up). When I told her the amount wasn't incorrect, she told me I didn't have to send the package if I didn't want to. No real choice in the matter. She refused to re-enter it, and just told me that the rates changed based on the zone. To an extent I get that, but $15.40 for a package to Michigan, and $28.15 for THE SAME EXACT PACKAGE to Florida? Common sense lady. I paid it because my time is worth more than the $13 back and hassle to drive to another shipping location, but lesson learned. As I looked at my receipt, I see she had incorrectly entered the 2nd package as 20x20x8, which explains the cost differential (also confirmed on usps.com). And of course, no way to refund, or even an apology, since 'the sticker was already on the box' Save your sanity and your money and take your business elsewhere! read more

Apparently he/she is unaware that the opening is larger on their side than it is on my side. This may be the worst USPS location that I've ever dealt with. Our mail carrier struggles to get the correct mail to the correct recipient on a daily basis. Our mail in our community is mis-delivered literally every day. And now, our carrier(s) are just lazy. For 3 straight days in a row I've gotten a slip in my mailbox saying that I have a package that is oversized and won't fit into a package receptable (it's not) or my mail receptable is full (Never) and this is a first attempt (never happened) so I'd had to go pick up my package. No attempt was made to deliver anything to my door (I work from home and I'm here all the time) so the delivery is taken back to the Leander USPS where I have now for 3 straight days gone to collect my mail/package. This organization needs to be privatized and managed like a real business that is accountable for customer service. I've never been to this post office until this morning. I had some time to kill after running early for a nearby business appointment. There were some letters and packages awaiting mailing in my back seat left over from yesterday, so I figured why not? Service in this place couldn't have been any faster or more courteous. I went directly to the counter. I chose the wrong insurance form, but instead of being griped at, the lady at the counter got the right one for me and didn't rush me to fill it out. She was the grandmotherly type, cooing and cawing over a lady and her baby at the next postal clerk's station. I could go on and on (like I usually do), but the service here was superb. I felt like someone had transported a postal clerk from Mayberry to that counter at that exact moment just to wait on me. I only wish Leander was closer to Oak Hill read more
