    Nathan I.

I'm still fuzzy on the details, but according to the State of Texas, I have to pay money to periodically change these two stickers on my windshield whose purpose remains a mystery to this day. Not entirely sure of what to do, I usually come here, to the Williamson County Annex, to procure these stickers and occasionally a new Texas license plate that also doubles as an eyesore. Last year when I was here, I waited in a line that was so long, it ended in the lobby. This most recent visit however, the place was utterly deserted. The old "take-a-number" machine is gone, and replaced with a touch screen contraption that I'm sure is the impetus for more than one rant from our more elderly citizens. Blasted technology. You first push the button corresponding to the reason for your visit. "Sticker". Then you tell it whether it's for a car or a truck. "Kar". It spits out your ticket. One person was ahead of me. I waited no more than two minutes as I watched an older gentleman in fishing garb approach the new machine. I braced myself for a technology hissy fit, but was pleasantly surprised to see how easy he navigated the screen to get his number. Close one. My turn. I handed the woman this letter thing that came in the mail, along with something called an "insurance card". $50+ for a sticker seems way overpriced. What am I registering anyway? Not wanting to get pulled over by the fuzz, I simply must comply. Well, whatever the case...their PR ad campaign says I'm doing it because I love Texas. Oh, come on. Don't play with my head like that. You can use a credit card now, but they charge you an extra $2 or so. I'll still pay with a check, thank you. You already took the equivalent of like, 25 drinks away from me. That could have been a rocking Tuesday afternoon. The guy next to me kept talking to the woman about his band, and that she should come out to see them when he played a venue I had never heard of. She responded with the same level of interest as if he had said "Would you like to come witness my next teeth cleaning?" Then he and the old man shook hands like they were old friends and started talking about the weather. Oh, Texas. Friendly to a fault. And always a little scary, too. 5 minutes and I was out of there. DO NOT expect this to be normal. In fact, I think it was kind of a fluke. Whatever these sticker things are, everyone's got them, and it can get quite crowded. Plan ahead accordingly. 3 Stars for the minimal wait. See you next year.

From the phone call to the young lady at the counter, everyone was helpful and pleasant. Long wait but the employees were kinda and helpful.

What was amazing was that same-day appointments were released right as I was working on the kiosk, and I was able to snag an 8:20am appointment slot! A ticket was printed out with my confirmation number. I grabbed a paper application to renew my license and used one of their pens to fill it out. Only 1 out of 3 pens were working, so I recommend bringing your own pen. At around 8:15am, my number was called and I went to my assigned counter number. I showed them my driver's license and my passport card to prove my citizenship. The person at the window walked me through all that I needed to do. I paid the $33 fee using a credit card. All-in-all, I was at the counter for about 5 minutes before the process was finished. A temporary paper permit was issued to me, and I was told my new driver's license would be mailed to me in 2-3 weeks. There's ample parking available at this location, right off of HWY 183, and quite a bit of tree shade, at least in the morning. I plan to return here the next time I need to get my license renewed in person!

As the larger of the two post offices in the Cedar Park/Leander area this location can handle a…read moremuch larger flow of customers; there are more individual post office boxes. It also has a great deal of parking. Plus, it is very easy to access from both directions on the road. But the thing I like best about this location over the Leander location is the self-serve shipping I can do when the location is closed. Just outside the closed lobby is the self-serve shipping set up. It allows you to weigh and measure your packages. You input the shipping address, and it will determine the price and print your shipping label. You then place it in the drop box. It's very easy! This is the only location in the area in which this can be completed outside of post office hours.

What kind of insolent retard does this? I dont know if Corey or Courtney or whatever even reads these reviews (obviously not because their quality and service is still exceptionally inept) but holy jeez man. Wake up. It's not that difficult to leave the night drop open so people can drop stuff off. AT NIGHT. Every single person at this location needs to be fired and replaced with a kid from McDonalds that barely knows how to flip a burger. And I guarantee the service would be better.
