You see, some weirdo kept banging on the front door, claiming to be the police. We looked out the peep hole but, said idiot covered the hole. You can never be too safe- so we called 911. The female operator who answered was rude as all hell but, the officers that came by were awesome! Note to 911: I understand your job is stressful and time is of the essence but, your attitude is condescending and unhelpful. The cemetery once used to sit way out in the countryside, but now the 21st-century has grown up…read morearound it. A busy road in front of it, residential homes nearby, and a storage facility directly behind it. The property is relatively well cared for, and even the older headstones from the late 1800s have been cleaned and restored. Like pretty much all cemeteries from this time, people did not live very long and you see plenty of infant and child graves. This may or may not be an active cemetery anymore since the last internment here was in 2012. I did find some Woodman of the world markers and a confederate soldier grave. One thing that was conspicuously absent was a Texas historical sign. The pictures included tell the rest of the story.

Sandwiched between Round Rock and Georgetown in the countryside along County Road 110, you'll find…read morethis cemetery. It sits on about 3 acres and is oddly divided between the older headstones on the south side and the newer ones on the north side with an expanse of land in the middle. Right next-door is a camper and boat storage facility. The property is relatively well cared for, although many of the older headstones really could use a good cleaning. There is a Texas historical sign on site which speaks of the Swedish settlers in the area. This makes sense since many of the headstones reflect the language. One thing that I found odd was there were our family plots covered in pea gravel laid out, but they are unclaimed. For that matter, virtually the entire cemetery is laid out in square family plots in an orderly manner. One name that stood out here, was the name Bergstrom, which reminds me of Austin's airport namesake. The newest internment that I could find was from 2025 and there is plenty of space still available. One thing that was conspicuously missing from the newer markers were small oval porcelain photographs of the deceased cemented to the headstones. This cemetery is located about a half mile west of Highway 183 and not far from a small town of…read moreAndice. It sits in the quiet peaceful Hill country far from the noise of civilization. It is primarily a Hispanic graveyard with less than 100 burials. There's no sign at the front gate and there's still plenty of space behind the current graves for additional ones. Despite its remote location, many of the graves are still visited by loved ones leaving behind memorial tokens. Many of the burial sites have a home built and personal touch to them and others have the standard granite headstone. Most of the graves are recent and some date back to the early 20th century. This is definitely a peaceful country cemetery, but civilization is slowly creeping closer.
