This Post Office has tanked. I have repeatedly spent $13 and more for simple Priority Mail that takes 10-15 days to arrive. They'll tell you it is not their fault (blame the main Hub, blame weather, blame whatever) but I track every package. I watch mail destined for the east coast get sent to Denver first. Mail I send to the west coast ends up in Jersey City. There are NO refunds for Priority Mail, they just accept your money, don't provide the service, and it's tough luck for you. The only person to blame is yourself for giving them your money. Separately, I've received crushed packages, no packages, and a family 3 blocks away share my same house number so we exchange wrong packages frequently; I'm lucky those people dependable, unlike the USPS. I have tried to support my local post office for many years now. Remember how we were encouraged to buy stamps and anything else to keep the USPS afloat? I'm old school; I did it all. Now I'm done. I should have learned my lesson long ago. I'm incredibly frustrated and disappointed. It's such a shame too because the clerks who have customer contact are some of the nicest and friendliest people I've met, and I've seen their faces for many years. They must take all the heat for late and missing mail. I will miss their smiles and the post office I remember, but I won't miss the grief I've experienced over and over again. Is you might guess there is never going to be a good outcome with a government run business. I mailed an envelope to Troy Texas from Houston Tx and it is still not at its destination. Takes 2 and 3 days per facility to get on its way to the next facility. This is crazy. Knowing I can drive to Austin in 3 hours. Very Close to Troy. Don't bother calling, you will not EVER get to talk to a real person. Good luck people. read more

This seems like a well-run location. On my visit, there was one employee at the counter, with others clearly working other duties. The line started to grow, however, so one of the employees stopped what she was doing and opened a window.  The line quickly shrunk. The postal worker I engaged with was very friendly and seemed to genuinely like her job. That's something great to see! The lobby was very clean and follows the typical neighborhood branch post office layout. The parking lot isn't large, but I don't think the volume of business they do requires more than is there. Multiple missing important items since at least the summer. Overseas plans, mulitstate trips have been canceled as our licenses will not be delivered. Credit cards stolen, thrown away or sent back. In person and emails have not done anything. Not on person on any level has sorted the situation. This has been a extremely frustrating situation for my entire house. I'm now taking meds to sleep due to this. Our lives are on hold because of this fiasco that no one at the USPS will rectify. read more

They close at 5. When I arrived at 4:40, the lights were off and the desks were closed off by the metal curtains. Absolutely useless.

So glad I stopped here than going to the post office near the corner of I-35 and 79. No line here and I was in and out quickly. They have a sign to tell you which line is which. Since there wasn't anyone standing in line I was a little confused on where the line on the right started since it was near the counter where people fill out forms to send a package. I passed the counter and went straight to a postal worker who accepted my package and got me on my way. This post office offers passport services. You can schedule an appointment or come in during their walk in hours -Monday-Friday 8am-1pm. They also take photos for passports here. The parking situation is awesome here. I didn't have to worry about trying to find a spot. The other post office worries me since cars are coming in and out of the lot all the time and it's an accident waiting to happen. read more

Going in person I've had good service. The employees are friendly and I've also gone there to renew my passport. The passport lady is very nice. So my low star rating is not due to them. My complaint is that they NEVER answer the phone at this location and also I'm tracking a package that was shipped from UPS to the USPS. My package so far has been sitting at the PO for over a week now! (Photo included.) Come on, what is the hold up? Also, my dad never received his Christmas present last year. (I mailed a card with gift cards inside.) Don't know which PO to blame - mine or his in Houston - so hard to tell which PO employee stole the gift cards. Either way, money down the drain for me. Wow 2 and a half stars seems high. We get notices from amazon packages were delivered and it shows up in our box a week later if we are lucky. Usually we have to bring a tracking number in. We ordered an Apple Watch which was deliver and signed for. Never received it. Their answer was we don't know who signed for it we don't recognize that name. One lady working there complained because we get our packages there quite a few. Well isn't that what she is paid to do at the post office. It's your job right. This is my SECOND rant about this same post office.. I went there to send a package, but needed the return label attached. The woman HOLDS UP her tape and tells me "you need this. You can't use ours." So I had to pay $6 for an entire roll of tape when she's holding a roll in front of my face. These arbitrary garbage policies are infuriating and not even consistent as I spoke to my mother who says her post office in Austin tapes up things for her ALL THE TIME. This is a Post Office as well as a Passport location. It is very near my house so I drop by here often to return Netflix movies or to get stamps out of the machines inside. I also have mailed packages here. It is convenient to get in and out of and the service inside has always been good. They can get backed up in line especially during the Christmas holidays. RANT: Do not read if you don't want to hear my rant. The postal system runs in the red, I wish they ran in the black. I heard that by October 2011 they will be out of money and the tax payer will have to bail them out. I don't know about you but I can think of lots of ways to reduce cost and increase revenue. This post office is smaller than most that I've been to in the greater Austin area, but offers quicker service. I don't find the staff to be more or less friendly than others, but they get the job done. I see many people coming to use the PO boxes and the passport services at this location. They offer a lot of greeting cards, boxes, stamps, and shipping supplies on the side so that you can shop before getting in line. The only reason I go here is to use the automated shipping calculator kiosk. You can ship practically anything if it's ready for postage using a credit or debit card. It's very convenient and there's rarely ever a wait. Best of all, the kiosk is open 24 hours! read more

This post office has missed delivered 4 packages in 30 days.. the carrier keeps putting the wrong key in my box.. yesterday I received my neighbors package in my box.. I was told "the keys fit into multiple locks and it was my fault" way to claim responsibility for a mistake.. I was also told to contact the seller of this item to make a claim... I hardly ever leave a bad review but this office needs to get their act together when it comes to passport processing! I looked up USPS.com to see walk-in hours and it clearly said 9 am- 2pm M-F. I usually call to confirm before I go in but nobody picked up. So my husband and I went there during the weekday around noon and there was hardly anyone in the post office at the time. Maybe a couple of customers and us. In fact, there was no line when we went in so we walked up to the counter and asked to apply for a passport for our child. A female clerk told us that they only do passports during the weekday (excuse me, it was a Wednesday?). I did bring up their hours from the website and she claimed that their hours hadn't been updated on USPS.com. She also mentioned since they're short staffed they can't do passports at the time. As I mentioned, the place was just about empty and there were 3 clerks behind the counter. Maybe only certain employees do passport processing or their photo machine was down. I'm only leaving two stars because she did give us information on where to go for fast passport processing (Travis County Tax Office at 5501 Airport Blvd). I really hope that this office either hires more staff or updates their correct hours on the main website. I can only imagine how many people might've been turned down even with the forms all filled out and prepared. read more

My mailbox was full due to my household recovering from Covid for almost 3 weeks, so my mail was taken to the post office for pickup. I worked extra hours this week in order to get off early and pick it up. I arrived a little after 4 pm. Stood in the line that didn't have directions for 30 minutes to be turned away and told I had to get in the other line which was backed up all the way to the entrance by the time I was able to speak with someone. The sign for that line was designated for parcel pickup. Instead of making accommodations for me to be able to go straight to the front , I was told I had to go to the back. I think it's inconsiderate that the employee didn't explain to the people in the line that I had already waited a long time and allow me to cut to the front. Now I'm going to have to figure out a way to get back to the post office by tomorrow before they throw all of my mail away. I'm very disappointed!! read more

I really wish I had alternate options for postal service than all my things going through this office. This all started about a week and a half ago when I had ordered a package that had tracking, on the Friday it showed it was delivered but there was nothing in my mailbox, by my door, or even the side door. So I figured it was just updated too soon and waited.. come Tuesday it's still not anywhere and I call and made a complaint. A few days later I got a call from someone at the post office saying they would talk to the carrier and get back to me... no one ever called and my missing package suddenly appeared at 9pm on a Saturday.. with a rather large hole in the side.. That's cool. So in the mean time I had ANOTHER package delivered, and sadly I still had to go through usps even though I tried to get it via FedEx or ups.. well on Monday I found a key for the large box for packages.. Great! Finally I get my items.. nope, that was a joke, the box 1 was empty and I still don't have my items. From now on I will purchase my items and have them sent to someone else, than pay to have the items shipped by other means. At least I get my regular mail on time. read more

People wonder why the post office has such a bad rap..well..this place is a good example. I work in Georgetown, and it's a 40 minute drive from work to this post office. I knew I was gonna cut it close, so I called.. the phone rang for 10 minutes without an answer. I walked in at 5:03 and the gentleman refused to let me sign for my package... that's all he had to do.. let me sign and hand me a package. My work schedule is medical based and I don't even get off work till 6:00. I took off work early to get this package. The person at the front counter was extremely rude to me. Even before the moment I opened my mouth they straight up told me "You don't have a notice slip, I will not help you." I was dumbfounded because I couldn't even get a word in because they kept saying, "No. I can't not help you. I will not help you." in a rude tone then proceeded to ignore me and try to help the next person. I tried explaining my situation (I didn't get a notice slip and I found out because tracking said to pick it up at the post office) until finally they directed me to someone who was nice enough to help and got my package for me.
