Went in today to mail a certified letter with tracking to the Philippines. Had a very long wait in…read moreline as a customer in front of me was having some issue sending delaying the line for up to 20 minutes, the girl trying to help her was totally "hung up," obviously appearing like she did not want to be working at all that day. But could tell she was at least trying her best. Also was able to observe two customers arguing, ready to get into a fist fight, so at least I had a little entertainment to help ease me the extra-long wait! But i have to admit that the long wait was becoming unacceptable. So, I needed to text my supervisor explaining the situation, and why it was taking me so long. Even snapped a picture so my boss could see the fiasco happening before my very eyes! Until finally, a very professional woman in her 30s came to help me. I appreciated how very observant she was and noticed the way i was looking, needing to be helped. Besides her attractiveness, what impressed me the most was her professionalism, knowing exactly how to send my important court documents with a raised seal to my fiancé in the Philippines. I immediately could see she was a very competent postal employee who understood her job. I was very saddened by the experience I had at the Howard Road, Rochester, NY, Post Office last Saturday, February 14th, as the gentleman Postal Clerk adamantly refused to send my certified mail to the Philippines, making it seem like all the US Post offices do not send certified mail to the Philippines! Told me to check in very annoyed way to check out UPS, so went to them and wanted $250 to send. So funny!! So, I went to Upper Falls Post Office, and it cost me $49.75. After so much pain, struggle and frustration trying to mail a certified letter with tracking (gets delivered in 10 days besides), i didnt mind spending an extra $30 just for the peace of mind. I like knowing my important documents won't take 5 weeks to get to the Philippines and possibly get lost in the mail in some foreign post office..

Box said next pickup was 7:30 am on Monday (the NEXT morning). Which gave it an estimated Priority mail delivery date of Thursday. I just checked tracking and the package wasn't scanned in until Tuesday evening!! Then it's being moved through several other facilities in Rochester!!! I assumed this was the main facility‍ and that it would be picked up and scanned on time. This doesn't give main facility procedures. Now this package will not be delivered until possibly Saturday. I'm so pissed!!!! This was a business delivery and it makes me look bad!! I stars if I could!

The lot only has like 12 spots and 9 of them were taken by junk cars. JUNK CARS. I have no idea who's they were but none had plates and only one car had all the tires inflated.cars with no tires. Cars with broken windows. Just a straight up junk yard. It was the wildest thing I've seen. I would like to complain but I don't even know who to complain to. So I feel like this is a start and I don't really care that much being that I don't frequent the post office. I'm not 100 years old as much as my wife tells me everyday. The guy behind the counter is friendly enough. I wouldn't want to work at this post office. This is the closest post office so I guess I'm stuck coming here or find one on my way home from work I guess.

Woah! I've only ever been here two times in my entire life. I held off on writing a review after…read moremy first experience. I waited about two years... And I went back again. And it is the same experience. Long lines and agitated workers. No one is friendly. Everyone has a bit of an attitude. Everything is an inconvenience. I'm sorry that the post office offers me the opportunity to scan a QR code with you and you print my label. Apparently some workers don't like that. And they don't like a pile of packages going out either. Too much effort on their part, I guess. Anyway, maybe I'll be back in two more years.

After he flat-out refused to send my letter to the Philippines with a tracking number, was slightly shocked at his sarcastic reaction! He seemed to become annoyed after me needing an answer to direct me on how to resolve this issue. He was responding with a certain negative mannerism, a mocking attitude & body language that gave me an uncomfortable feeling. So i decided to try the USPS on Cumberland Street Monday morning, because they know how to send a letter with tracking to the Philippines. I have done business with them before, and they know how to send a letter internationally with a tracking number. It cost me around $55 the last letter i sent to my fiancé. But still, I was very disappointed that someone who works in the Post Office can get away with acting like this. Everyone else I have ever dealt with at the Howard Road USPS was always very helpful and polite. Guess i had to pick someone who didn't know how to send a certified letter to the Philippines, and he became angry at me because not know what to do.

During these COVID times, this is not the best. I essentially waited in the vestibule until there was no one else in the tiny waiting room. I imagine this location must get nutty during peak times, so I would try and drop by during the weekdays if at all possible, so as to not feel cramped. When it was time to send my package, the staff was unbelievably kind, efficient, and helpful. While I only had a two minute interaction (weigh, swipe, thank you, see ya!), it left an impression. Workers of these offices are not getting the props they deserve for being an essential business during this time and having to deal with people in and out at a consistent clip. This is a great and convenient location to send packages for holiday times, just make a plan to wear your mask and have everything ready to go prior to arriving, to save time and limit your exposure/exposure to the staff. I think the location is the reason why it gets so much business. That being said, I am surprised anyone thought it was a good idea to open such a small office. It is tiny. There is room for a line of about 5 and then the line is out the door. Also, I have never seen more than 1 person working at a time so it can take a long time to get through that line. The area that every post office has to fill out paperwork or put stamps on your envelopes is also small which would be fine however the line for service is against it so if there is a line, you can't really use that work space Overall, I will continue to come to this location because it is so convenient to work. The facility is clean and the staff is nice but expect to wait in line in cramped spaces. If you want to meet a new friend, the line here may be a good place to donor since you are so close.

I try and avoid government buildings as much as possible because they are generally a headache, but coming to this post office is a breeze and sometimes you just need some stamps, ya know? Yes they are sometimes short on staff, but always apologetic about it and happy to help once they become available. I love the convenience in parking of this location and the nice card selection that they have. The employees are kind, and, while lines get long at busy times, that is going to be at any location in town really. The lobby area is super convenient and customer friendly, open 24 hours a day, very clean and lots of counter top space to prepare packages to ship. There is a self service station that allows you to ship mail or packages any time day or night, with out the hassle of standing in line. You can also purchase stamps and shipping materials here. The window service area is open m-f 8:30-5 and on Saturdays 8:30-12. Great service and they always seem to have specialty stamps exspacilly during the holiday season.
