It's a small town city hall, with ample parking and a lot of different services all in one place…read more Unlike Houston, where there are multiple courthouses and permit centers, everything is located in one large building with various wings here. Thankfully, I haven't had much reason to go visit here, but on the trips I have made, the police department is next door, there's a nice city council meeting chamber near the main entrance, and the hallways are well decorated. Everything is clean and well maintained.

Police to meet you Hope you've guessed my name…read more The Rosenberg Police Department were basically given this place rent-free which is pretty cool of the town and of the mall and the property owner, but it wasn't the kind of property that would easily be rented out and it kind of shows you a little bit of what kind of crap we are dealing with, but having said that when you look at some of the militarized equipment that they have - which is mainly used in the suburbs where it's not remotely needed - it's kind of funny, except that it sucks. They seem like a pretty decent Police Department compared to some, and have never given me too much trouble.

That's changed due to society and even some interaction with officers from houston itself. Granted those take place when I see them in the community, which is rare enough. I once got into a wreck and was having a mental breakdown while the houston officer (either stafford or fort bend) was rude and callous (while I understand the job is highly stressful, still its better to interact positively with people especially when they're emotional); but this is about Rosenberg, a much different story. I've seldom ever seen officers in the community that weren't patrolling, growing up, but here in Rosenberg I see them all the time, and it's fantastic. They show their human side when they're at a restaurant with their kids, or stopping somewhere on break. Then when they let you talk to them as I like to do, I can ask a question and they'll answer if they can. I think this shows a great interest in community as well as just being approachable. Every officer here that I've met has been friendly and helpful, a reminder that they too are human. It's almost enough to reignite that old desire to be an officer. Now also when I've called then, which has only happened twice: once because I saw a stray dog on the side of the road, and another when inquiring about job opportunities in law enforcement, that the responding person was attentive and helpful, even if my call didn't seem that important for the moment. I see them patrolling often as well, which I don't see in cities like Sugar Land (maybe that's why everyone speeds like bats out of hell), so the fact that their presence I'd noted is another positive in my mind.
