THEY LOST MY PACKAGE! Magically found it after two weeks, then sent it back to sender! Had a package coming from a friend in France. I had to sign for it but since they tried to deliver during work hours they left the tag in my mail box. I chose to pick up at the post office the next day. After 15 mins they came back saying they couldn't find it. They said when they find it, they will just place it in a parcel locker. Two days later and still nothing, went to the post office, had a different person look for it, once again, couldn't find it. She was even trying to put the blame on me, saying I shouldn't have responded to the tag and just left it alone! Makes no sense! This went on for two weeks, post office visits, phone calls (which they usually wouldn't answer), then the tracking changed to return to sender. This post office is so careless and untrustworthy. They knew I was trying to find this package, yet instead of contacting me (which I left my number and email to multiple people there) they decided to just send it back. I obtained an appointment to get my kids passport done here, and am impressed with the professionalism of the staff here. I didn't get his name but he was an older Asian man. Very helpful, efficient and nice. Upon arrival, there's signs to let you know where the passport office is at. It's located at the left, next to the counter. Just ring the doorbell once and someone will come get you. Make sure you arrive at the appointment 10 mins early to account for the wait time. They also take photos here for you for an additional charge of $15/per photos, so that's pretty convenient. He explained the process and will make photocopies of the documents for you. I can't say I frequently went to any USPS location before as I never had a need. With the on-going lockdown, though, I have been here multiple times since my apartment complex office is no longer accepting packages. Now any package shipped USPS that can't fit in the tiny mailbox is sent to this location and honestly I've always had a pleasantly efficient experience. The USPS location is socially distance ready and aware. Red tape marks on the floor clearly show people where to stand. Large plexiglas dividers separate the workers from the customers. All the employees wore masks and the overwhelming majority of customers did as well. The line moved very quickly each time I was there and I was in and out within five minutes. I was also impressed with how everyone was behaving. Everyone followed the signs. There was no crowding. People kept their respectable distance while going about their business. Everyone was polite. I booked a passport appointment at this place a month ahead. The night before the appointment I received a email from someone at this office telling me the appointment is canceled because passport clerk is out. I already asked time off from work, prepared to get there early because it a 45 minute drive for me. It's simply not right canceling an appointment like this at the last moment. Service at this place really sucks. (Update: the office called me and explained that there was only one qualified clerk can work on passport application, and they wanted to inform me by phone but didn't get through. I've been waiting for a package from eBay for a few days and received an email saying it was delivered to the leasing office of my apartment yesterday. However, the leasing office has not been receiving packages since Covid started to avoid unnecessary foot traffic in and out of the building. I checked my mailbox and parcel locker yesterday and today and even checked in with the leasing office to make sure it wasn't delivered to them and there is no package to be found. I called customer service today and was literally on hold for 2 hours before I talked to a human being. The gentlemen said, "you're tracking number says it was delivered." Are you kidding me? I wouldn't have spent two hours of my life waiting on the phone if I had actually received my package. He filed a request with this Highlands USPS location and I received an automated email from Brian Donald stating they will investigate. I'll update my review once I get more information. The worst ever. There is an short hair female staff, probably the rudest one I have ever met. I'm using a platform to sell my stuff and the platform provides shipping label, which I have no option to change anything on. That staff keeps yelling the package is overweighted even after I explained to her. I've been very pleased with this Post Office, they could be a little slow but other than that, their customer service is excellent, I use a POBox here and get notified via email when I get mail in my box, that way I don't have to waste time going there when I have no mail, they also receive packages from non-USPS like FedEx or USP using the street address. Only disapointment is, can't renew passports at this branch, other than that all other services are provided. read more

The lady manager (Black short lady) at this location is def power tripping. I go to post offices 2-3 times a month. And ever since Covid I've been using the self check out more often since I want to get in and out as fast as possible. But for some reason this lady today told me that it is not allowed to use the kiosk if the box doesn't fit. Mind you I've been doing the same thing for months, and the kiosk even says "your box is too big would you still like to continue" so I would like to know who is wrong in this scenario. Because I've been to plenty of post offices and I have never been told that. They actually encourage it when the lines are too big! If I could give zero stars, this post office would deserve it. The workers are RUDE and pretty haughty thinking they have tenured jobs. The man who stands about 5 ft. 9 in around 55+ years old with black hair (and accent) is a real piece of work. No smiles. Just stands there with a look of impatience and cynicism as he waits for me to pull out my ID. And don't get me started on how they won't serve you at the package pick up window. I rang the bell and waited politely for 3 min. No answer. Rang it again. Nothing. Then I had to join the long line for mailing. Then the black haired man just tells me "My supervisor said not to open the window." Well, why didn't he tell me that as I stood at the window? He and that black haired woman saw me standing there. After buying my first home in Renton, I never received any mail, including critical medication following a recent heart attack. Confused, I went to the post office where they handed me 2 weeks worth of mail and handed me a letter (that they couldn't even deliver?) stating that my mail would not be delivered and was being held until I changed my delivery point. Confused, I asked what was going on. They told me that when a new homeowner moves in, you are establishing a new delivery point (because of a change of ownership) and that allows them to force you to move your mailbox to the street. I disagreed and looked up USPS rules governing this. The short version is that they were lying, and they were not delivering my mail which again included critical medications following a recent heart attack. I spoke to the manager who was not friendly, and begged and pleaded for them to be reasonable, but they held firm. I went home determined to win this fight so I found the section regarding a delivery point, and it states that if you move the delivery point (your mailbox), they can tell you that it has to meet certain guidelines. Instead, in this case, I was not moving it, they just tryin to convince new homeowners that they must move their mailbox and they hold your mail hostage forcing you to do so. I was not "establishing a new delivery point", I was simply using the existing delivery point. So now, after not getting my meds for weeks and having to pick up my mail...I reached out to our congressman. Zero help. I reached out the city counsel. Zero help. I reached out to the USPS Postmaster general, and after a few weeks, spoke to they regional postmaster in Tacoma, who assured me I was correct, and they said they would inform the Renton Highlands (4th St) post office to deliver my mail beginning that day. I waited gleefully... no mail. I thought, well, maybe it'll happen tomorrow...again, no mail. I waited 3 or 4 days then finally reached out to the Tacoma Postmaster one more time and she assured me I would get my mail the following day. Beginning the next day, I started getting my mail. The saddest part is I know they continue to do this to other new homeowners in the area. Someone bought a house across the street, and a week later, move their mailbox to the street. Someone down the street, same thing...all these mailboxes you see along the street in Renton are because this rogue group makes it their personal mission to force people to move it. I'm sure they are just trying to make it easier for themselves because they don't have enough people, but there are ethical ways to solve that and unethical, and them holding meds and lying to customers is not good business. This was 3 years ago. Fast forward to 2 weeks ago. I'm moving. I submit a change of address to begin the next day. I find out a week later my mail, once again including life-saving medication is still going to my old address. Its been 1.5 weeks since I filed the change of address and they haven't even stopped delivering my mail to my old address and begun to forward it to my new address. I'm down to 2 days in pills and I know some where delivered to my old address yesterday. This post office is pretty bad...but I like my postman and the people at the counter...always nice and doing good work. Behind the scenes...this place is being dishonest and not doing their job. I would not even give them a one star. They just lost my priority express mail , they didn't put a package to my mailbox. And now they are telling me to replace the item. This is a fairly large post office thats adequate in cleanliness. Pretty large parking lot and plenty of po boxes. I haven't had any experience with the clerks and their customer service but I like the convenient drive thru mailboxes that I come to at least a couple times a week. read more

And the automated postage machine in the lobby of this USPS makes my life easier. No surly postal workers to deal with! (Usually) No lines! I walk down there, keep my music playing, and ship a package (as long as it isn't too big) to anywhere I want at any time of the day. Bring your own writing utensils though. If you are outside normal business hours you will find all those lovely pens on chains have been stolen. Beyond that I don't know how this place functions on a normal basis. Also, every time our regular mail person is not on the route our mail is delivered late in the afternoon instead of close to noon. Listen to me, guys. YOU. Are. AWFUL. You never have more than 2 clerks at the counter during peak hours (every Saturday I see a line of 20-30 people at your office, with clerks barely moving). Which might be understandable if you only were able to deliver packages correctly. Entire Fall of 2014 your boy is either missing, swapping or forgetting packages. I visited this Post Office to re-new my passport. I initially called to make an appointment and was instructed to book on the USPO-Renton website. It was actually easy. I was surprised that one of the associates actually texted me a few hours later to inform me that their passport photo camera, was inoperable and gave me a listing of local pharmacies that would take my photo. Once in the Post Office I had the privilege of meeting Dulce, who has worked for the USPO for 28-years. She was a complete sweetheart and very caring. I just had the best experience I've ever had at any post office, ever. I'm always nervous and confused about how to ship something the cheapest way possible. If I could give 0 stars, I would. They f*ing overcharged me by entering a higher weight for my package and refused to refund the amount they overcharged me when I discovered the discrepancy. I calculated a price for an 8 ounce package on the website. I went to the post office to mail it, and was charged a lot more. I questioned why it was so much higher than the website price, and the postal worker gave me some BS answer about it being cheaper when you make an account online. She asked me what weight I entered, and I told her 9 oz. She reweighed the package and said it was 8 oz. When I got home I checked the receipt and found she'd charged me to mail a 12.1 oz. package. When I went back today to get a refund of the price difference, they said they couldn't do anything because I had no proof. I asked if the security cameras captured audio so they could verify the conversation. Conveniently, the cameras are picture only. tl;dr - they stole my money by charging me to mail a heavier package than what I actually had, then called me a liar when I went to get a refund of the difference. read more

Dude. The line in here was insane on a Saturday. Granted it was a Saturday(12/12) but, inside it felt like pictures of depression era bread-lines. The vast unwashed masses packages in hand glaring hopefully at an ever diminishing supply of USPS workers. I'd say hire more Saturday staff please to keep up with the mad Holiday package rush. But, part of this problem could have also been fixed by fixing the handle/fixing the package drop on the automated postal kiosk. I would have loved to have dropped my package and been done with it but, instead I was in line for an hour because the drop bin wasn't open and I'm not just leaving packages on the counter unattended but, with postage. So yes, I get most of my mail most of the time. Usually. When we used to have a subscription to game informer it would mysteriously show up opened and clearly read about a month after the fact, if at all. I have one bill that has to be paid with a check. I've taken to driving to the place rather than mailing it, due to to them not always getting it there on time and costing me a late fee. I've also had packages lost and horrible customer service when attempting to find out who it was actually delivered to. P.s. I never did get the package. Now with the remodel their parking lot has only one exit. So, enter with caution. Also, after hours and on weekends they lock the package slot. That's right, you can pay for your postage, but you can't leave it there for them to mail. So, what's the point. If my family didn't live out in the middle of nowhere, where ups or fedex fears to tread, I'd never go here again.
