Too bad there's no 0 star option. Brought my package in to mail. I had checked online previously and found that the flat rate was $21. When I went in, the clerk said it would be $45 for the box of baseballs I was mailing. I told him I had seen that it was $21 flat rate. He said in his 6 years of working at UPS he had never heard of a flat rate. He said it doesn't exist and only usps had a flat rate. I looked up online and instantly found the flat rate again. I bought the label online for $21 and he shipped the item without saying a word or apologizing for lying. I just don't understand such a short termed view of dealing with customers. Was it really worth trying to scam me for $21 and lose my business forever? I have many more packages that I'm mailing - I'll now use FedEx or go to a different ups location. He could have made so much more money off of my patronage if he had just been honest rather than trying to take advantage of me. Don't waste your time and money coming here. I came in with my arm full of boxes- that were already labelled and had postage- I was just dropping them off...at 4:03pm and the 3 workers standing around said sorry were closed we can't take those. Mind you the store was still open- door unlocked. . I said I just need to leave these they are already stamped and they said sorry. They really couldn't take 2 second s to scan the package? I didn't need a receipt. I asked if their location on coal creek was open and the "customer service" person said " I have no idea"...no effort to offer to check or here's their number. I was shipping a cellphone to San Diego and chose UPS. This store is close to home, so I used them. I will never do that again. I declared the package contents and was surprised at the very high cost of shipping, so I settled on what would get the 1 pound package to its destination in 5 days at a cost of about $30, which included insurance. Luckily, I watched the tracking of the package and saw that it was being returned to the shipper the following day and that the shipper was to return it to the owner. Since the store never asked for my information, I stopped in after work to see what was going on. It turns out that UPS had changed their labeling requirements and the UPS Store had used the wrong label for the contents and labeled the package incorrectly. Therefore, UPS kicked the package back. Now remember, they didn't contact me. I was savvy enough to be watching the tracking. I don't know what the store would have done. The staff explained what happened and said that they would correct it and reship the package. But, they said that the package would now arrive on Thursday instead of Tuesday, as I had paid for. I asked for the UPS Store to honor the the Tuesday delivery and they said that it would cost a lot extra. I disagreed with her since it was their error and they should eat the cost and make it right. She disagreed. After a lot of back-and-forth, she made a call and said that she'd get the package delivered on Tuesday as i had initially purchased. I also stated that I bought insurance and wanted that as well. She acknowledged me. The store clerk said that they had to repackage the box and it would be 10 minutes. I didn't have the time, so I asked to have the receipt emailed. When I got the receipt, it had the Tuesday delivery, but did not include the insurance for which I paid and the clerk agreed to add. I hope the package arrives undamaged. This review is also serving to document the encounter. Needless to say, I would discourage anyone from using the UPS Store on NE 4the Street in Renton. They are dishonest and do not value customers. Go find UPS and work with them directly or use USPS. I will not be using the UPS Store in the future. read more

I've dealt with two different people, and gotten two different forms to send the exact same kind of package. The woman who helped me totally upcharged the shipping and I had to make her correct it. No customer service. I've been to many UPS stores for Amazon returns. This is the first one that sent me to a counter with tape and return tags. There was no tape in the dispenser so I went to the counter and she handed me a hand tape dispenser. When I asked for help as to how to attach the return label she said she would show me (I had 2 packages) and she did just that. When I was finished (about 7 minutes) I told her she could have done the same thing in under a minute. There were no other customers in the store. We had to ship 2 years worth of baby clothes to a cousin. In 2 years time we accumulated 8 costco sized diaper boxes. My husband and I meticulously packed it in 4 garbage bags into a washer machine box acquired from the nearby appliance store. When I dropped it off at the UPS store, the clerk helped me unload it from my van and into the store and started to price out the shipment. Another guy came from the back (I assume the owner), checked out the box and said that he could probably drop the price down after I told him it was all clothes inside. Turns out he could save me about $50 if they cut the box down by a few inches. In 5 minutes, these guys cut down the box, taped it back up, and priced it out for a little over $100! I will go 20 minutes out of my way to avoid this UPS location. Terrible customer service. Terrible. I used this location twice recently. One by choice, the first time. The second was not my choice. The first was in November. I went to this location to mail a large box to Switzerland. I knew it would be expensive but not THAT expensive. I was given a price by the older man working there that day. After weighing the package he told me $148.00. Way too expensive. I knew this because I mailed a box roughly the same size and weight the year before by USPS. I left without mailing the package. I went across the street to USPS and the exact same box that I was just quoted $148.00 for would be shipped USPS for $78.00. Wow. Almost 1/2 the price of what the UPS store was going to charge. The second time I went to this location was to drop off an Amazon package. I waited until the last minute and needed to drop off before closing day on this particular day and it was almost that time. If you don't know anything about the way this works with Amazon it is you just drop the package off at any location. That is it just drop it off. When I got to this location, after all it was only a drop off, what could go wrong, no one greeted me, no one even looked at me. There were to people being helped and 2 "workers". I waited a few minutes and still no one said anything. Good customer service would entail at least saying " we will be with you shortly". Anything to acknowledge me. Nothing. I waited 7 more minutes just to drop off a package and then was told the package was too big. Too big, what are they talking about? The return instructions clearly state to take the box in which your item was received to the UPS store for return. The old guy at the counter told me the box was too big for a return. Um, I have returned many an item through Amazon and never had anyone tell me the box was too big. How big you ask? The box was 22" x 16". Basically a bit larger than a shirt box. I told him that I have returned many items even larger in size than this and he argued with me the whole time. Finally he said he would take it this one time ! WTF !! Like you are doing me a favor ! I was doing an Amazon return and needed to print out the return label. I did this before at the Newcastle one and they helped me. The hispanic/Italian/mid eastern..let's just say this guy did not look white..in a very rude tone says "$2 50! You can use our computer but it's $2.50!" I will,not use UPS EVER again. Had items shipped 4 packages and one was damaged in shipping I called the store to make a claim and first words from them were " if we did not pack it you will not get paid for the claim" Here is where a class action lawsuit starts. I bought extra insurance on my item and it was packed in a box made just for the item I shipped. How can you sell me EXTRA insurance knowing already that UPS did not pack it and will NOT cover it, I'm just giving you money all the time they know if that shipped item is damaged I have no claim anyway. I needed to ship a computer over night. The owner used a box twice the size they normally use, (so they can charge more). He then charged an over night rate but sent it out Friday to arrive Monday. I'm extremely disappointed in the UPS store on 4th in Renton. I shipped an international package on a Thursday, paying for service that I was told would get my package to the destination by Tuesday, end of day. The package wasn't available until the NEXT Monday, an entire week later! AND, someone had made a note that I, the sender, had requested the package be HELD FOR PICKUP at a UPS facility at the destination, which I did NOT request. The UPS store employee REFUSED to make any adjustment to the shipping fee. UPS wouldn't take any responsibility for the massive delay, either. It seems a UPS Store is not even affiliated with UPS, which I believe is very misleading. This company should not be selling service they cannot provide! Avoided using the UPS stores. If you must ship UPS, go directly to a UPS facility, but AVOID the UPS store on 4th in Renton. BAD CUSTOMER SRVICE!! read more

I have never had such terrible customer experience in my life I've gone here a few times to print labels for packages, I went today in the blazing hot sun with only one person in the front she kept telling me that my email was not going through and that's fine I understand technology has problems, then she told me to use the computer which I also tried, I told her it's not working and she said I don't know, & just stared at me so I had to restart computer she offered no help didn't even look at the computer, finally worked 20 mins later. I printed my label finally, for ONE print out, literally ONE was $4 I told her I need to go outside to grab the right amount of change and she threw away my label away, telling me that I was rude In the beginning in front of a line, I never was once rude I was hot and overwhelmed with technology not working in 80° weather. THIS PLACE IS A SCAM. DON'T GO HERE. They provides terrible business and took advantage of elder couples who do not speak English well. This place has no business integrity and incompetent. I was helping my parents, called ahead and was told that they charge $10 per signature for notary. They did not tell me that they charge each witness's signature. My parents bought 4 forms to them and they signed in places that did not to be signed and charged them. They also omitted to sign in certain places and still charged them. They charged $180 for 4 notary stamps and 8 signatures from 2 witnesses. When I pointed the mistakes out to them, they claimed that I was wrong. Then they later said, it costs $20 per witness signature which is ridiculous that it would cost more than a notary stamp and doesn't add up to the total cost. When I asked to see a published sheet of the price for their services they said they don't have them. They then took all of my parents forms without asking us first, shred them and return our money. I called UPS at Newcastle and they charge $10 per notary stamp. Granted that they do not provide witnesses but they do not charge when witnessing each signature. So these forms would only cost a total of $40 at UPS Newcastle to notarize but $180 at UPS Renton on 4th! read more

Why are the major Mailing Services SUCK and so lowly rated? UPS USPS Fedex. Because they lose your packages and don't own up and don't have Return or Refund policies that are in public view. I tried sending a small package via UPS thru this store and asked for the service option to Hold On Location at the UPS Store in another city, Cincy, in order for my adult daughter to pick up at the UPS Store and not home deliver it, No problem UPS Store in Renton said. Filled out the shipping label, paid the postage, boom off with the shipment. Got to the other side and UPS Store in Cincy refuses receipt of the Hold On Location package, said they were too busy to identify and look for it, shit we have over 500+ packages today, you should have called in advance and alerted us. WHAT? Pre-marking the paid label was not enough. Looked up their Refund and Return Policy, UPS doesnt publish one. I wrote up a formal complaint and faxed it to UPS HQ in Atlanta, no reply. USPS did the same thing to me on a similar shipment. Can't trust anyone of the national Mailing Services. OUCH! Guess I'll try Fedex or MBE-independants. Piss poor services. This is a complaint against UPS and the UPS store in Renton, WA (4404 NE 4th St. Renton, WA 98056.) My package was improperly returned to sender. UPS customer service confirmed this multiple times but I was given the runaround and was never refunded. Not only did they not the perform the service, but the worst part was how they handled the customer service afterwards. On March 10th, 2015 I used the UPS store to send a package (containing original art) to my friend in Massachusetts. I chose the option where he had to sign for it. The store employee, Breeana, told me that if he wasn't there to sign for it after 3 times they would hold it at the local UPS faculty so he could pick it up. There was no mention of it ever being returned to WA state. They tried the three times to no avail and after learning that they could try again my friend scheduled one more time for them to deliver it. The UPS representative he talked to never mention that if this attempt failed they would return the package to sender. They could only give a window of time for them to be there, and they happened to miss him again. A few days later we found out the package was being returned to sender. I called UPS customer service on March 24th and talked to a representative named Harry. He said he could not intercept the package but that after the failed deliveries the package was improperly returned to sender. According to UPS company policy the package should have been held for 5 business days but it was only held for 1 before being returned. He said to get a refund I would have to go into the UPS store that I originally paid for the services. I said, "But if you (UPS) went against your own policies why wouldn't you handle the return for me?" He would only say I needed to go back into the store for the refund. Once back at the UPS store I talked to a manager named Tony who claimed it was not their fault the package was returned and he would have to file a a claim with UPS and the UPS Massachusetts facility. He promised to call me back within 48 hours. I never received a call from him. I went back into the store 4 days later to retrieve my returned package (which I then sent through a different company with no problems.) Tony was there and told me he talked to UPS and they said it was my friend's fault. I told him, "No, UPS customer service told me it was improperly returned to sender and that they were at fault." The manager above Tony, Kuppa, promised to look into it and call me back again. She called and left a voicemail saying that she talked to UPS and that it was not their fault and there would be no refund. I called UPS customer service back the following day and talked to a representative named Megan who confirmed that they violated company policy and that it was improperly returned to sender. I asked to speak to her manager. Her manager, Craig (Employee ID# PZB1CDB) once again confirmed it was improperly returned to sender. He said he would have the appropriate person call me the following day to resolve the issue. He gave me the customer service supervisors' voicemail where I could leave and message and he would get it. He promised that whether or not a person called me the next day he too would personally call me and follow up the next night by 10pm PT at the latest. While at work the next day I received a voicemail from a woman who only identified herself as, "This is UPS." No name. I had no idea who she was in the company. She left a very brief message in which she contradicted everything I was told the previous night: That after the failed attempts to deliver the package they were right to return to sender. She said if I had questions I could call back the generic 800 number I was talking to the whole time! Craig never called me back when he promised to, even though I left a voicemail to remind him. I never received a call back form UPS at all. I decided I had had enough of the unbelievable UPS runaround and poor customer service. read more
