Our neighborhood development continues to get mail with thick black powder substances (from the mail sorting machines possibly?) all over it. I've TWICE taken the time to bring samples in for the manager to see but it just gets passed off as an "unknown" problem. This has been going on for months now. All our mail has to be wiped off each day, even though we have the newer, clean metal locked mailboxes here. So the black crap isn't coming from our mailbox, it's definitely coming from the post office. Doubt if the manager ever even looked in to my concern about it. We moved out of state in February and gave notice both online and with a form. We got mail forwarded 2x- magazines and a few stray pieces of mail. Missing? Tax forms and other time sensitive items that had been evidently held for over 1 1/2 months THEN forwarded. Makes no sense read more

It has never been a time that I have been there and there wasn't a long line of people waiting for their turn and complaining about it and usually only 1 or 2 (out of 5) counters are open even during the peak hours. The staff seems to be not happy with their day jobs possibly because they're understaffed. The place needs to be more organized, People need to be more friendly. read more

I called the post office this morning, Joe answered the phone immediately. I told him I was trying to track a package which was returned to sender because of incomplete address. He looked into my tracking info, and explained to me the usual procedure the post office takes when the package was returned. He was nice to check their selves to see if there is any returned packages with my name on it. I really appreciate that Joe took time to help me with my questions and to locate the package. Taking customer service to a new low. I had a very important package that was supposed to arrive yesterday. When I arrived home from work, I saw the mail truck drive by the house, not even attempting to stop at any of the mailboxes on our street. Then, when I check the tracking on the package, it says the driver attempted to deliver, but could not because they could not access the boxes or house due to obstruction or lack of gate code (no gate). I am told to follow up with the carrier, so I try calling the post office in Redmond several times, only to have the phone ring and ring (about 35 times) and someone picks it up and hangs up!!! I could not believe it, so I call back and it happens again! I don't know if the driver was running late (5:30PM was a bit late for mail delivery) so they just skipped us and claimed they tried to stop or what. But then to be completely ignored when I tried to follow up, as instructed, just shows me that the problem does not only lie with the driver, but with the whole Redmond postal service. I would have given it no stars if possible! If you don't like your job, fine. Find another one. Don't make the rest of us suffer from your poor customer service and complete lack of shits given. read more

Worst ever. Don't come to the passport office because you could very well end up seeing a handwritten sign alerting you to the fact that they randomly closed 4 hours early, without reason. Don't bother calling in advance to confirm hours either because they never pick up the phone. read more

We have a brand new mail man sad to say. Our other great mail carrier retired. We now have an idiot who put my package into another neighbors mail box who lives up the street and around the corner. Then today he put my Voting card to vote into another persons mail box farther away and luckily that person took the time to drive to my house and drop off an important document so I could vote and when I complain to our local Post Office they do not even seem to care :-( I guess after 30 years I will have to switch from USPS to another Carrier who cares. read more

All the services you could want, and 24/7 parcel drop, DIY postage machine, access to a bunch of free shipping supplies... I'd be lost without this place. And don't get lost or be intimidated by the fence or large building - just go through the (always open) gate, go SLOW over the speed bump (it's no joke!), and drive straight back just about to the end of the building, and walk in the (always unlocked) door. The photo shown here will definitely help if you're going there for the first time (so thanks to that person for the pics). I feel like all post offices get unfairly bashed, and as this location is a regional hub of some kind, it is necessarily responsible for a huge amount of mail. So it's no wonder it would suffer proportionally. I have written just a few reviews in my life, but this seemed important. While customer service can be hit or miss anywhere, i experienced friendly service here the few times I've been in during normal business hours at this location. I've noticed that a lot of bad reviews here are often not even about this location, but about individual experiences with their local mail carrier, or having to wait in a long line. Sure, frustrating experiences, but not a fair appraisal of the service, or this particular location. What's great about this place is that you can walk into the building any time of day, any day of the week with something you need to ship. Even at 3am, bring a credit card, pen, and some tape, and you can box it up right there, buy postage, and drop it in the parcel drop. I do a lot of shipping of online auction sales - i guess into the thousands of packages i've sent over 15 years, and i honestly cannot remember a single mistake or even any damage to a package with USPS. Maybe i'm just really lucky, really forgetful, or have always sent things off well packed and correctly addressed. Incidentally, I've had no issues with UPS or FedEx either (apart from very minor damage once when receiving from UPS), but neither of those companies offer the lowest price on anything i ever ship. USPS is somehow always cheapest (and fastest). This location is within easy driving distance for me if i need to get a package out right away... but i usually save myself the trip and schedule a free pickup at my door by going to usps.com (as well as print my own postage). Cool bananas. So i'll say thanks to the Postal Service for getting it right, as far as i can tell, pretty much all my life! read more

I was expecting a package and tracked it as it travelled across the US. Supposedly, it "arrived" and was "scanned" at the redmond post office at 4:44 on a Wednesday morning. Fast forward to Friday afternoon- status unchanged. So, I decided to call and inquire about the package. I made 5 attempts over 2 days to call and ask why my package seems to be in limbo at the post office. Each of those 5 calls went unanswered. After exactly 32 rings each call, the call was inexplicably disconnected. This is not the first time I have been disappointed with the mail delivery system of the USPS, but it's the first time I've been compelled to write a review. I do understand that writing a review for a government office is a like spitting in the wind, but I thought it might ease my frustration. It didn't. Unfortunately when the sender chooses the shipper, the recipient has no choice. If I treated my clients the way the Redmond post office treats me, I would be out of business. It must be nice to know that you can do your job poorly and still get healthcare, paid vacation, retirement, sick leave, and a paycheck. read more

This is probably one of the worst post office experiences I've had, and I've had some amazing ones. The line was to the doors when I arrived, but I really had to get some eBay and work stuff out in the mail...so I had no choice. I stood there for literally 45 minutes with ONE person working the counter. Sure, other employees were spotted looking for packages, taking packages back, walking around looking for "binders" and whatnot, but NO ONE HELPED RANDY AT THE COUNTER. He was the only part of the process that wasn't horrible, because he smiled at everyone and his attitude was pleasant. The passport line and the counter line sort of mesh/meld together because nothing is labeled. There's no line divider so people were constantly in the wrong line for things. It took me over an hour in the middle of the day to get in and out of that place. I'll NEVER go there again, don't care if I have to drive farther, that place is HORRIBLE. read more

If I could give a negative rating I would. The Redmond Post Office is more inept than most. They don't deliver mail to the correct address and then send it back to sender when the wrong person doesn't accept the mail for someone else. I know they have delivered packages to the wrong address multiple times. First they should be delivering to the correct address, but barring that you would think that they would check after someone tells them that it was delivered incorrectly. But NO! They send it back to the sender so the cycle can continue over and over again. Our tax dollars at work! read more

Nobody answers the phone. The lady who delivers the mail will fold bulky pieces of mail to fit them in the box regardless of what the contents may be. I do not receive junk mail but when I do, it has someone elses address on it. clearly she doesn't look very closely at whatever mail she handles or the people sorting the mail do a poor job of sorting. I suspect it's both reasons. Today I found out a bill from the city was sent out on the 2nd of this month, it has yet to appear in my mail box. Did it end up in someone elses mail box? I have a few pieces of important mail to send off but I am afraid if I put them in my mail box they will get lost . On a few occasions I have seen the delivery vehicle at the mail boxes across the street burp out a cloud of black smoke from its tail pipe, do they service these vehicles? read more

I have been using the Redmond PO for decades, both downtown and now in the industrial area beyond Home Depot. I'm there at least several times a month. Invariably I find the people who work behind the counter offer great service! They stand on their feet all day and are still friendly and helpful, ready to do what it takes to solve whatever problem I'm dealing with. Yes, the lines are too long, especially over the holidays. The post office system is strapped for money. Many Americans today seem unwilling to pay for the level of staffing, etc they expect and living with the consequences can be a challenge. Cheers to the Redmond PO staff for doing their best. I've been remiss in not writing a review, find it hard to believe so many angry reviews and wish to convey my own appreciation of the challenges the job must present and how pleasant these people have been. read more

Horrible service. Just horrible USPS. My carrier won't get out of his truck when a signature is required for a package. Even though we are home when he delivers the mail he is too lazy to walk up to the house and deliver the package. He just tosses the notice of "attempted delivery" into the mailbox and drives on. This forces us to take time off work, because of the ridiculous short daytime hours the post office is open. (I noticed when I was there this time that their hours of operation are better than they were. During the week they are open from 8am-6pm). It's a 12 mile drive to the post office to get our package, the package that was supposed to be delivered directly to our house. UPS, FedEx and every other delivery service can manage to deliver a package to the house with no problems. I'll never use their service if there is another option. I waited for more than 30 minutes after calling the 800 number with no answer by them. After this local branch opened up for service I had to call them four or five times, 13 minutes in total before getting my call answered. The 800-ask-usps is the phone number listed on the website without showing the actual number. It's a tremendous pain to have to translate the letters into numbers, writing them down one by one so I can then make the call. Totally lame. Customer service is an oxymoron with them. The USPS and all its employees should be trying much harder. read more

Was there recently to apply for passport . It was 1145 and they wouldnt take applications between 1145 and 12. We requested if he can accomodate us. The good part he agrred the bad part he snaps at my wife who was just trying to be friendly with a smile that there was nothing funny. Not sure what kind of training is given in USPS on customer satisfaction. I would have given 5 stsrs only if he could have refrsined from making un necessary comments. read more

This post office is convenient for me to stop in during my lunch break. My gripe comes from the last visit I made here on 3/2/16. I was getting ready to send out my wedding invitations, so I stopped in on my lunch break with one of my invites so that they could weigh and measure it. My estimate was it should be $0.93/envelope (it was a 1.5oz square envelope). The guy behind the counter told me I needed $1.20/envelope or else it would not get sent. I ended up purchasing the stamps he told me I needed and left. Fast forward 2 days: I affixed the "needed" stamps to my wedding invitations (mind you: I special ordered the original stamps so that they would look cute - and the extra stamp I was coerced to purchase was NOT cute and did NOT match - yes, I know #firstworldproblems, but still it was annoying and worth noting). I dropped off my invites at the Ballard post office, and the person behind the counter there told me I overpaid. I only needed $0.93 per invite based on size and weight. SERIOUSLY?! Granted, it was only an extra $15 overall...but it's frustrating that I was given wrong information on what should be a simple question. Regardless of convenience, I'll find a different post office location from now on. read more

The status of a mail that I was expecting showed 'Delivered in mailbox' but it never arrived in my mailbox, even after waiting for 3 days. So I went to this post office and caught hold of supervisor there and she dug it out of somewhere. So all this time the mail was lying there in post office but still they had marked it as 'Delivered in mailbox'. When I got the mail, I was surprised to see that my address written on it was almost illegible. (it was kind of erased out, you had to hold it very close and see carefully to make out what it was.) So I believe it wasn't USPS's mistake and am glad that they had kept the mail safely in the post office. The mail contained a very important document of mine and hence it SAVED ME A LOT OF HEADACHE. Couple of TIPS: If the status of the mail your are expecting goes from 'Arrived at local post office' directly to 'delivered in mailbox', i.e. it skips the statuses 'sorting completed' and 'out for delivery', then your mail is probably lying in your local post office. When you use express mail service, press hard when you write out the receiver's address. Apparently there are multiple (I guess 3) copies of address sheet one beneath another that get written through carbon paper when you write on the topmost one that is visible to you. Unfortunately, the bottom most copy is the one that remains on the mail. In my case apparently the sender did not press hard enough while writing and this carbon written address was almost erased by the time it reached my post office. read more

They moved the drop off mailbox from the street into the parking lot. Whoever planned this placement must drive the smallest car ever, because to maneuver one's car around a small hairpin turn to reach the box without a 3 point turn is impossible. Especially if you drive a big SUV or truck. And if you happen to have a car behind you, it makes it pretty hard to back up to get into position. Really guys, I think you could have done a whole lot better on this point!! read more

The postal agent left a delivery notice in our mailbox claiming I was not home in order to sign for the package. I have been home all morning waiting for the package and when I tracked the package online saw the notice of failed delivery. This is just shoddy. Now no one will answer the phone, either. I have had a package that was returned to sender and it went back to the Post Office in Redmond WA. It shows it has been out for re-delivery to the sender since 8/17/16. I filed a case with the postal service and my own local post office responded to me which does not help me. They had to re-file the case since it was done backwards the first time. I still have had no one contact me from the Redmond WA Post Office. You call the local number and it is either busy or it just rings incessantly. I can not believe that no one at the 800 number can get this local post office to respond. So my package is just missing..so much for tracking when no one works to resolve issues when you have problems. read more

I have a business and our outgoing mail sits in our box for days with the flag up...they only bother to pick up our mail if we have incoming mail. This is the worst service I have ever received at a post office. They never answer the phone so that I can ask them to pick up the out going either. I come to the Redmond post office every day. Yep every day and sometimes twice! The Redmond office is one of the better locations I've been to around here. Is it slow? Yes, but they can't help it when people come up there and get to the front of the line and aren't ready and don't know whats going on. They are overworked and don't get paid much and I see a lot of people get rude and mean for no reason in there while I'm waiting in line. I'm from out of town and visiting the area on business. I needed to mail a few personal things and this was the closest post office. I was almost scared off from this location by all the bad reviews so I wanted to chime in. I visited at lunch time (around 1 pm) on a Monday. There were 3 people ahead of me in line and although the line didn't move exceptionally fast, it was about what I would expect based on other post office experiences. All around, I would say this post office is about average. I do agree with the other posters about location, though. I've never heard of a downtown without a post office! read more

Had to go here to renew our passports today. The old man working in there was rude, surly, and nasty. And here it is the day after the super bowl and he's wearing a Patriots Jacket and Shirt. It was like he was looking for someone to call him out just so he'd have an actual excuse to be rude, nasty, and surly. Not like he needed one. He appears to need a strong glass of prune juice. Maybe that would improve his outlook. I simply asked him a question if I was in the right place for a passport (wasn't obvious from where I was standing) and he was rude and snappy. Then he rolled his eyes while looking through my passport and told us to sit down because we were making him nervous. Worst service ever. If that nasty old man got grief for his Pats gear, he deserved it. I really hope someone else called him out today. He should lose his job. I stopped using the USPS for receiving packages a few years ago. They are just too far behind UPS and FedEx for me to take them seriously. Unfortunately, I purchased something from EBay and too late realized they shipped the items via USPS. I knew it was going to be a mess. Sure enough on Monday I received a notice that they couldn't leave the package. The notice they left indicated that I did not need to sign for it. Called customer service to get the package delivered the next day. Confirmed that the package didn't require a signature. On Tuesday, no package, another notice, this time stated that I DID need to sign for it. I ended up staying home from work today (Wednesday) to get the package. It's now 8:00 PM and no package. I did receive a text message stating that it would be delivered today. However, on their website the info is from Monday. So their texting and online tracking is out of sync. UPS and FedEx have their faults, but they are nowhere near as bad as the USPS. read more

8/8/2017 started my call around 2:45pm eastern time to get ahold of a clerk or someone that works there...so its 11:45am there...still waiting for them to pickup there phone 2:57pm eastern...I used the phone number (425)-869-3690...they or their phone hungup on me...calling again 2:58pm.. no one answered their phone hungup 3:05p..calling again see if anyone works here...3:05p do I got the right number? ...no answer up to 3:12pm eastern...calling nationwide hotline. Got a hold of someone, maintanence woman picked up, she tried to transfer me to a supervisor or postmaster. I finally got a hold from someone at 4:26pm eastern even though she couldnt help me since she was in maintenance (she was a very nice lady who took my name and number), found out from her the postmaster was in a meeting.
