Guess I was lucky after having read all the negative reviews about this post office location. Went to this post office as they open early at 8:30am to send out some certified mailings. Parked right outside the door. There was a short line in the lobby that moved quickly and was then served efficiently by a very polite lady at the counter. Also, the interior of the post office lobby has the most amazing murals. I guess the post office had more money years ago

In the history of the USPS - Port Chester has easily set the record for number of items lost in the mail. There's not even a close second.

They go out of their way to be helpful and courteous to customers. I came in 15 minutes before closing one day with a bunch of boxes that I hadn't had a chance to label because I had been running around all day moving. They helped me carry them into the store, match up all the labels I had printed to each box, and get them on the delivery truck that day. Couldn't have asked for a better experience.

Ten hours later and the tracking says it's in NY. My label wasn't even created till 6pm in Rye and did not get to Elmsford, NY till 11:21pm. They claim the drivers must have missed the air mail pick ups. Obviously didn't miss them as it says the label was not created till 6pm on the website. It was this stores responsibility to put the car keys in a box and package it. That's what I paid for.Went in to talk to them at 2pm and they said they would call me back with an update. Did someone ? NO !! I called three times till close at 6pm and got the same old excuse. Have they reimbursed me for not coming through ? said it will take a week for the complaint to be investigated. Meanwhile the update says " The delivery date will be provided as soon as possible. So, my family have no car keys to drive their car and Ubers are mounting up.

A year ago,I brought them an item that they packed and shipped, and it arrived broken. A week later, I brought them another item that they packed and shipped. It arrived broken. luckily, 1st Dibs' insurance policy, covered the losses. The next week I brought them a $1250.00 ceramic planter that they packed and shipped. It arrived broken. Three items in a row broke!! Unfortunately for me, 1st Dibs said they would no longer pay since there were to many claims. They advised me not to use this UPS store. My only option was to file a claim with UPS, which I did. A few weeks later UPS denied my claim because they deemed it improper packaging. For a year now I've been trying to get a refund for the broken planter with no avail. At first I thought Shalmi was sincere, but i now realize he was just appeasing me , hoping I'd eventually go away. A month ago, I went one more time to see if Shalmi was going to refund my money for the broken planter. He offered me a few free packing fees instead. I figured it was better than nothing. So the next week I dropped off a pair of mirrors. Guess what? One mirror arrived broken! I give up. This has been going on for a year, being brushed off, no phone calls returned, he never even reimbursed me for the exorbitant packing fees of the broken items!! Hopefully I'll have better luck in small claims court.

I was assisting an 80-year-old individual who needed fingerprinting for a background check. We originally planned to go to the White Plains location but were unable to get confirmation that the fingerprinting equipment was working. We then traveled to the Stamford location after calling ahead and being told that their machine was operational, only to arrive and find out that it was not. Determined not to give up after spending hours traveling between locations, we decided to try the Greenwich office. We arrived less than 10 minutes before closing, only to learn that fingerprinting services end one hour before the office closes. This was information that the Stamford location should have provided when directing us there. After hearing everything we had gone through, Jose took the time to listen and understand the situation. Rather than simply turning away an 80-year-old who had spent the day traveling between multiple locations, he showed genuine compassion, patience, and professionalism. Jose went above and beyond to help us and treated us with kindness and respect throughout the entire process. After such a stressful day, his willingness to help made all the difference. Outstanding customer service is hard to find, and Jose deserves recognition for the way he handled our situation. Thank you, Jose, for your empathy, professionalism, and for helping an 80-year-old individual complete an important fingerprinting appointment after a very long and frustrating day.
