This is by far the most disgusting, unprofessional probably most uneducated group of individuals that collectively work under one roof. The line no matter what time of year, how many people are actually in line or under any circumstances you will wait at least 30-40m. Even if there's 2 ppl ahead of you. The employees are by far the laziest people you can encounter at a government run facility. Just today we had one of their truck delivery woman by the name of ATKINSONS legit steal a fellow neighbors key infront of everyone and denied it. From what we all saw the keys were in the door and our neighbor was just 5feet from the door where we were all standing once she left the keys were missing. When she was approached she flat out lied and denied it claiming someone let her in. There was NO ONE THERE WE WERE THE ONLY ONES STANDING THERE THE ENTIRE TIME AND NONE OF US LET HER IN. The best part is the keys were there when she approached the door and were missing once she left The post office was notified and we asked her to be removed from the route yet they said she did nothing wrong. Had to ask what happened as I get daily emails stating of what mail I will be receiving for the day. I showed them the email and the lady at the counter explained to me that sometimes the email isn't exactly accurate and that at times that expected mail can come a day or two later. She did say however that if it didn't get the piece of mail to go to another USPS location close by because that is where my carrier is located. Went to the other location a few days later being that my mail still was not received. They searched their archived mail from previous days not to find it at all. Still till this day do not know what happened with that exact piece of mail but thankfully the business that had sent it was able to print me out what they sent me on the spot once I had went there to let them know that I had not received their mail. Hopefully this will not become a consistent thing where mail gets lost because even with something that may not be that significant can be a bit stressful and definitely time consuming.

When I arrived, there was no drop off for packages with prepaid labels in sight. I stood in line for 20 minutes before I was able to reach the clerk window. I asked her if there was a drop off for packages with prepaid labels, and she pointed to the left of her where there was an unlabeled door, and she said that was where to put it. I said to her politely that it should be labeled as such. She got very irate with me. The package never arrived, and I had to refund the amount the buyer had paid me on EBay.

I've been using this postal branch before and after it moved to this location and have finally found a way to get service without experiencing high blood pressure every time. Some of the staff even smile at me now and we make small talk, they recognize me from the countless times I go in to pick up my packages. And because I smile at them and speak politely, they actually listen and try to help me. Here's my advice: First, be aware that this post office serves an under-served neighborhood, so get off your high horse and stop expecting five- or even three-star service. Second, the postal employees don't understand and are impatient with the Spanish-speaking residents, and the feeling is mutual. So there's already a lot of built-in tension and resentment even before you step up to the window and start your transaction. Third, USPS deliverymen never leave any notices when they don't deliver packages, so you have to do the extra work and monitor the progress of your package online like a hawk, and when it says "Notice Left" on the USPS website you have to take the initiative, go to the post office with the long tracking number beginning with a 9, print it out from the machine near the entrance, and only then go stand on line at the package pick-up window. Don't try to stand on line with your tracking number only on your Smartphone and expect the clerk to type in the crazy-long number to locate the package. She won't do that and will just tell you to print out the slip from the machine. So save time and hassle and be ready with the slip AND your ID when you wait on line. I've seen customers go ballistic when the clerk tells them that she can't get their package without seeing ID. She's only following the rules, so don't waste everyone's time with a hissy fit because you forgot your ID but still insist on getting your package. Finally, if you're not willing to put up with the decrepit state of public services in a minority neighborhood, then pay extra and use UPS or FedEx.

She denied putting a label on the box even though the label had been printed on my first encounter occasion. Then on my next visit she had denied any service with accepting the package and said that she will not provide me a receipt as well because I threw in the word graphic novel so I can explain to her that they are considered books as well--although every item in my package was a book to be delivered to ThriftBooks.com. The location is great and the service can be quick when there is not just one person behind the window. There are great people working here but that one individual is a time waster.

While standing in the lines here I sometimes fantasize about taking over as manager, somehow improving morale and maybe sending all the staff to a typing course so I don't have to enjoy the nail-biting suspense of watching clerks search all the keys before beginning their tentative two-finger data entry. (How can basic data entry on a keyboard that you use every day be so difficult?)
