This branch is filthy. With all the unemployment in the country, somehow there still only seem to be one or two people employed here. The staff is slow to work and often unwilling to help. You're more likely to squeeze blood from a stone than get a question answered at this branch. This branch could do with a complete turn around of staff. I suggest they fire every person and rehire 100% new staff. I also suggest you come to this branch if you have no other choice.

A million customers, zero sense of urgency from employees.

I have absolutely nothing good to say about this hellhole other than when it comes to defrauding their customers of the service the paid for, they are top notch. Here are just some of the issues I can recall from recent memory: On one occasion, I was expecting a very expensive tool in the mail, and I received an email notice saying the package was delivered. I did not receive it, so I went through all the hassle of asking my super to review security footage, filing a claim online with the vendor, asking him to file a claim with USPS, accusing them if theft, accusing thieves of breaking into my building, and so on and so forth. Turns out, the package was at the post office the whole time. I was told there were "2 different notifications" for it. What? That doesnt even make sense. Days later I receive a notice for a package. I return to the post office again (mind you they close at 5 pm and it's a goddamned miracle if I can leave my work early enough to even get there), waste my precious time, and lo and behold, the notice was for the package I had already picked up. Wow, thanks!! I had another package that I received a notice for that said insufficient address. I get it from the post office, and the clerk and I both see that the address is exactly correct, typed, and printed on the label. She had no explanation. Lately I receive no notifications whatsoever and I have to guess and waste my time taking more trips to this god-forsaken embarrassment of an organization. I once asked the gentleman who retrieves packages what the issue is and he flat out told me that his co-workers are lazy, incompetent, unorganized, etc, and told me he was being flat out honest with me, which I appreciate! For all the non-notified packages I've had to go and hunt down, I've been asked to do the carrier's job of filling out the notification slip. If you are asked to do so, I encourage you to take a picture of it and write "notice not left by carrier, notice filled out by customer." I once complained about a package via email, and I received an actual response saying the package was being looked into. I eventually went to the post office myself, and found that my package was being held at the supervisor's desk (What? Why?) This was all before I received any other response. I'm currently in this giant toilet and there are probably 30-40 people in here and the staff is moving with zero initiative or sense of urgency. I guarantee I could run this dump more efficiently on my first day with zero experience. I now avoid USPS like the plague and only when a vendor ships USPS out of my control am I subjected to come to this black hole and waste my precious time. As far as I'm concerned, what is happening here is fraud, theft, and misconduct. I encourage you all to use any other carrier, and I encourage you to file complaints with the post inspector general and consumer affairs.

Amazing every label of my Amazon packages reads, "Attn:postmaster please leave package in lobby or at apt.door". And the post office fails.

Every label of my Amazon packages reads, "Attn:postmaster please leave package in lobby or at apt.door". And the post office fails. They can enter the lobby to leave a postcard of "delivery attempted", but they won't leave the package. Meanwhile they don't always leave a postcard, I often get emails from Amazon telling me so... Too bad USPS administrators wont read this, they're all unmotivated civil servants. Zero stars if I could

The line hasn't moved for 40 minutes....

This is my second time coming to pick up my package at this post office. The first time was on a Thursday afternoon which there was no line. Today, I experienced what New Yorkers don't want to deal with.... The lines were not moving and I can hear the lady who worked at the office being smart a customer. The another customer was yelling at the lady because the package was under her husband's name. I saw another customer waiting and asking where was the supervisor which he never came. USPS should actually look into their surveillance and see what the postal workers are actually doing while "finding" our packages compare to the number of people waiting in line. Since the office hours are inconvenient, I came on a Saturday morning to pick up my package. I waited an hour and a half... let's just say I'm never going to use USPS as my delivery service when ordering online.

Barely moved in the 45 minutes I've been waiting

A man muttered in line behind me, "this is the worst *bleeping* post office in NYC." Now I know why. I arrived before the post office opened at 9 on a Saturday. There was already a large crowd, maybe 25 people, by the time I arrived. After 15 minutes, the line was already snaking out the door. I have been waiting 45 minutes and so far, the ONE SINGLE WINDOW for package inquiries has helped out maybe 4 people. This post office is ridiculous. I have no words to adequately explain the ineptitude and inefficiency of this branch. It makes waiting at the effing DMV seem like a cake walk. There is absolutely no progress at this store. I don't know what's going on, but they need to hire more employees who understand what it means to be at the bare minimum, competent. It is absurd that this is how this place is run. If you want ANY hope of receiving your package, arrive at 8:30 on Saturday and get to the window first. Then MAYBE you'll walk home with your package.

This is what I saw while waiting in line for a service window. At least someone was getting "serviced."

Wow...as if it couldn't get any worse. I had a package out for delivery at like 9 am on a Monday. By 10:47ish that evening, the status goes from out to delivery to delivery status not updated. I figure this means that they tried to deliver, I wasn't home, and they forgot to rescan the package. So, instead of leaving me that little pink slip, my package is now is some USPS limbo. I made the mistake of calling this office, who told me that they couldn't help me and that I'd have to hold because there were 7 people in front of me IN LINE. In other words, if you call in, you have to wait for the people who are physically there to be served first. RIDICULOUS. There's no separate customer service for phone calls.

The line today. At time of opening -9am. Took me 55 minutes to get to the front. Unacceptable

This place is honestly the closest thing to hell on earth. Takes an hour just to pick something up and just as long for them to bloody well find it. Disgusting customer service. Have had packages "attempt delivery" without it actually happening. No sign of package at post office. People who work there should be banned from customer service. Absolutely disgraceful and BEYOND rude. The fact that I have no choice but to get my items delivered here really pains me. Godspeed to anyone who has to deal with this hell hole. UPDATE : stood in the line for 55 MINUTES to retrieve a package this morning. A package that I already have. Like, wtf?! A notice left in my box for a package that's already been recieved? This post office needs some SERIOUS work.

I have been here for 20 minutes and I'm in the same spot
