This is hands down one of the best post offices I've ever been to. The employees are always so friendly and nice. There are lots of post offices in this area, but this one is by far the nicest one. I came here right before Christmas to send a lot of packages. There was a bit of a line but it moved very quickly, and the employees were very jovial and nice to everyone who came in. I'm so glad I have a post office like this that is convenient for me to get to. read more

I would give zero stars if possible. This afternoon around 4:15 PM, I waited in line for 25 to 30 minutes. There were two associates--one woman wearing a mask who was helping multiple people, and another with glasses who was just talking until she finally assisted the gentleman before me. When I reached the front of the line, the woman with glasses told me her computer wasn't working correctly, and her label printer wasn't functioning, so she couldn't help me. I asked if the second associate could assist, as she had just printed 5-10 labels for the woman in front of me. Before I could even approach her for help, she loudly declared, "That's it, I ain't doing anymore labels!" I was shocked by how rude she was, making me feel like I had done something wrong just by coming in with a QR code. Instead of trying to help, she refused to assist, leaving me with no choice but to walk out without mailing my package. I expressed to both associates how incredibly rude they were and that I didn't deserve to be treated that way. There was a line of over eight people behind me, and I had already waited with about eight people in front of me. I understand that USPS employees may not always be happy with their jobs, but a little decency is expected when someone is kind and simply asking for help--especially when it's your job to print labels as part of the service. I do not recommend this location, and I hope management addresses this issue with their team. This is not how a community USPS should operate. read more

They seem to have a problem about doing work during their work hours I understand you want to go home but if a customer comes in needing help and there's only 5 minutes you should service them not tell them it's a little too late to do anything which is a common practice here. read more

Sometimes they want cash only and other times debit only, came in here to mail a letter and was told I had to pay for the .66 cents stamp with my debit card. But I was here last week and they only wanted cash/exact change so I came in with that and was told they don't want that. THIS IS REALLY ZERO stars. The gentleman (if you could call him that) behind the counter is completely rude and LAZY. This man does not want to work and is the reason some people think terribly of Government employees. He is the embodiment of what not to be as a human being!!! I am sure the only reason he is still working is because he cannot be fired! Other workers who are on loan from different Post Offices end up doing his work because he is so LAZY and nasty. This was possibly one of the worst passport experiences I have ever had in my life. Not only was I given major attitude by an employee that could not have been more miserable with her life, but I was spoken to as if I should know everything about passports - if that were the case, I would not need to make an appointment to discuss renewal. Ok this post office was just awful. I've been to a few with bad reviews but at least the people were great this place was the epitome of bad customer service. The clerk behind the table gave the worst attitude it's like I went to a store to pay for him to do so. How am I giving you business but then you get mad at me?! What happened: I went there to send off a package, now a days no one knows how to send off package so I was really respectful and cautious about what to do. I ask the older man with glasses behind the counter what to do and he looks at me, doesn't say a word and points to the roll of tape.. I just need to tape on the label ok thanks..? After taping on the label in an empty post office ( I say empty because the only other person there he seemed to have known because they were just having a non work related conversation) I wait, and waited and waited, 10-15 mins pass until he finally comes back to help me send the package. But nope that's not what happens, he gets mad at me and starts speaking down,"Dude you wasted all my f*ing tape" (He had a full roll) was just 1 many things being said to me. If you were in such a dire need of the tape you didn't buy you could have just taped up the package yourself, why get at the customer? Once I gave him my package he has the audacity to chug it in a bucket with the other packages literally not caring about anything that was in the box (because obviously it wasn't insured and if anything were to have happened the post office would cover the fees) Aftermath: Disgusting behavior, i hope i never have to deal with him again. The man with the long black curly hair is beyond rude for no reason. I was having a great day and was being so friendly to him and he was extremely ignorant and had the worst attitude. Why ruin other people's day when you're miserable? All I did was drop off mail to send out. I was in there for 1 minute, it's like he was trying to be rude as much as possible in every way for a minute. Really ZERO STARS!!! I sent a Priority Express package from my local CT post office to a store in The Westchester. The address showed: "Sales rep name" C/O David Yurman The Westcheser 125 Westcheser Ave White Plains, NY 10601 (Understand I wouldn't use the sales rep name in this post) I paid $32.95 and included a telephone number for the store. Incredulously the package was returned for "Insufficient Address" I can't believe that the USPS in White Plains can't find a store in the largest mall and possibly the largest taxpayer in White Plains!! Obviously not a priority. If they somehow didn't know where The Westcheser was they could have called. Not sure how they deliver any mail! The local USPS OFFICE would not give me a refund. If you are sending a package to White Plains DO NOT use the USPS. Absolutely pathetic!! The White Plains PO website advertises the following: "The Martine Post Office is located in the state of New York within Westchester County. This location serves 11,376 White Plains residents with a median income of $64,106. It's estimated that approximately 18,157 packages pass through this post office each year." I have to wonder how many of the 18,157 actually get DELIVERED!!! read more

Tiny & ridiculously crowded with no automated postal centers or space to stand if there's a long line. Got my tasks done easily enough but why is it so crowded at 1:30 p.m. on a weekday? That's unnecessary. It's also hidden on the street so you must keep your eyes peeled for this one; no American flag outside to help you identify it. read more

0 stars. I was told that they didn't sell postage for Priority Mail Flat Rate Boxes, that I would have to bring the package in to be weighed in order to get correct postage. I guess the worker missed the training on what Priority Mail FLAT RATE means. I asked 3 times and each time was told, the package needed to be weighed. And since 9/11 that has been the policy. So I asked another way - there is the sign saying $15.50 for Priority Mail Flat Rate Medium boxes. You can't sell me a stamp in that amount? We don't sell those stamps here, I was told. read more

I would give 0 stars if I could. As a healthcare worker, went to this post office to ship out extra N95 masks to colleagues and family who are also healthcare workers across the US during this pandemic so they can continue to do their work and be safe. Fernando at this branch had the gall to tell us that we did not "fill the boxes" correctly and that they were too empty (nevermind the fact that masks are light and that's why the boxes didn't feel full). After initially accepting the boxes, halfway through he again gives me a lecture about how he should not accept these boxes because they are likely to be damaged in transit (which is somehow again my fault if they are). I ask him if he's willing to accept these packages or not, at which point the man blows up in my face and refuses to accept the packages, practically pushing them back at me and my wife holding our 1 year old child in her hands. My wife asks him why he won't just accept the packages. All he says is that I am acting crazy and he won't take them, basically saying he is refusing to do his job now. I ask him to buy stamps because at this point I want to fill out a survey to give proper feedback, and, this is the best part...he says "WE DON'T HAVE ANY STAMPS". At the post office. Right. We both look at him, he realizes that was a lie that just isn't going to work, and then he proceeds to sell me 1 stamp reluctantly, telling me I can take the boxes and walk to the main branch in White Plains and talk to his supervisor there. We proceeded to walk to UPS and have a very nice gentleman take the packages gladly without any comments and they are on their way. This experience was unnecessary added stress to our lives while we continue to work to keep people healthy during this time. Avoid this branch and go to the main one in White Plains. I support the USPS but this experience just made me sad for the state of our governmental services. read more

Ever time I see an item has to clear through the White Plains Post Office I cringe because I know the item will either be late, lost for days or lost forever. I have never personally been inside that Post Office but as the mis-handling of my mail happens all of the time, I have to believe there is a lack of supervision and interest. There isn't a time I've been to this post office and the line hasn't been 10 people deep. If you think the clerks at the counter are going to try to move it along more quickly, guess again. And once it's your turn, don't assume to be greeted with even the smallest trace of friendliness or courtesy. I'd suggest that you walk to the post office on Fisher Avenue, or to the one on Mamaroneck Avenue, closer to Bryant Avenue. While neither of those is perfect, either, both will beat the Martine Avenue post office any day. read more

After a 20 min wait I was told my express package would not go out till the following day. Why didn't the person at the express mail counter, mention this when they gave me the packaging? I paid 23 dollars for a second day envelope! Horrible and incompetent. I wasn't home when the carrier attempted to deliver a registered package from Germany, so s/he left a "sorry we missed you/redelivery" form which I completed and taped to my mailbox which the carrier picked up the next day. The package was never delivered. Neither a 2nd nor final redelivery notice was left for me, and I believe the package has either been returned, is sitting at the PO, or sitting in the carrier's truck. The service here is deplorable. The clerks will rush you just because they are personally in a hurry. Having a customer who made it before closing and having to assist them for maybe 5 minutes max. past closing time shouldn't be as big of an issue as they exaggerate and make it seem. I wish I could give zero stars! Or maybe even negative stars! I came in on a Saturday because I work all week long as most people do so I came in when I could to have a Forward taken off A family member's mail that was being directed to my house and when I got there there were two women one was helping another customer and the other one was on her phone her own personal cell phone on her own personal calls on work time while customers were waiting! When I got up to her she didn't even say may I help you she said come and when I did I asked her about taking a forward off well I can't do that a supervisor has to do that I don't know if she'll do it today I don't even know if I can find it she made up 5 excuses before I could even say another word why her lazy nasty self refused to do her job! You're open today why can't it be done today! She was so nasty and didn't even want to get up she was just lazy!! She told me I would have to come back on Monday I told her I came on Saturday because it is my day off and the only day I have to do things she said well if you want to take care ofbit you'll have to come back on Monday I told her I could not she said well then there's nothing I can do about it... she had asked me to write down the address I needed the forward off of but she told me the whole time I was writing I can't do anything about it today and when I insisted she said well I can't so I just threw the pen back at her and left. i will keep it short or maybe not, the united states postal service and the majority of its over 100,000 workers nation wide and other usa area's is like taking a bad dump which you can't avoid but must deal with and this branch on martine ave in white plains is no different . the place is clean which is a plus and the lines are not long but thang the folks who work here are in super slow motion and can be some of the most sarcastic dolts when they feel like it. the mailing supplies at the counter are never filled when i visit, is it cause of no love for sadri or is that the norm. i would stick with the automated machine which take credit or dedit card only but give no attitude to the customers. my reason for three stars is that its never crowded and its conviented for me and they also have fed ex service if thats the way to go for your shipping needs. the united states postal service has been claiming for years that its losing billions of dollars every year ? but the increase in fees and the decrease of service is stong as ever and more folks are doing more internet mail service , time will tell whats going to happen to the usps, gotta run and get some liberace and rock hudson stamps. read more
