This is a mush smaller post office than I am used to and I am sure we caught them during an off day and off hours so that definitely worked in our favor but all I know is, we got our business done without receiving any attitude and left happy that we completed a much anticipated task.

We all know how some post office workers are always getting a bad rap for being unmotivated,…read moredysfunctional and the best one- dismissive. This is why I (try to) avoid coming to this location at all cost and instead- go a bit out of my way to the Bronxville or Scarsdale post offices. So why come here then? Because this is the main branch or flagship or whatever you wanna call it in White Plains- so I have to suck it up and pick up my mail. But granted- I've had passports done years ago here and service was alright. This branch is kind of dim- but fairly sized located on Fisher Ave and away from White Plains' heavy-traffic downtown area. I didn't have that peachy-color pick up slip you need in order to pick up my mail- so I tried my luck with a snapshot hubs had sent me. Thankfully, the lady behind the counter was nice enough to hand me the mail with the snapshot and my ID- and I was good to go. But listen...it happens... if you don't crack a smile at coworkers here- you ain't getting the same thing in return- some days are good. Some days are way off.

Everything moves sloooowly and the entire facility feels like it was designed to suck out your soul and break you. Workers here are disinterested and ineffective at best and hostile and useless at worst. It once took me close to an hour to pick up a package, as the two sour and excruciatingly inept workers processed the line. I will say that the guy running the passport service is a step up from the counter clerks, but for everyday stuff like mailing and picking up packages, forget it. In the end, it's an utter debacle to do any sort of business here. I've driven way out of my way to not have to use this branch and I would advise the same if you're thinking about going here. Zero stars. The worst.

There are lots of post offices in this area, but this one is by far the nicest one. I came here right before Christmas to send a lot of packages. There was a bit of a line but it moved very quickly, and the employees were very jovial and nice to everyone who came in. However, at the next window, a worker with a name tag that said AJ did not fit what I've come to appreciate about this post office location. I watched as she was impatient with several customers in a row, raising her voice and scolding them like they were bad children. The customers were quiet and did not retaliate in any way, but she was rude and I was embarrassed for the customers. With one gentleman, she told him he took his credit card from the machine too early and raised her voice to him saying, "Do NOT put your card back in! DO NOT put your card back in!" In a very condescending and angry voice. Then she told him to put it back in, explaining what he did wrong like it was a crime. She was even worse with a woman who asked what her package would cost if she sent it via priority mail. Perhaps AJ would serve the public better if she were in the back working with the mail. Even if she were having a bad day, there was no excuse for the way she treated those people.

She then found another error on the page she hadn't looked at and again bit my husband's head off. Lady, next time to your job and examine all the paperwork before sending us back to make changes. She verbally attacked my husband and he said to her well you only pointed out the one issue. She got mad and screamed at him that "don't you accuse me of anything SIR!". Her behavior was simply shocking. How are these workers allowed to speak to customers like that? Will never go back to this location.

We originally planned to go to the White Plains location but were unable to get confirmation that the fingerprinting equipment was working. We then traveled to the Stamford location after calling ahead and being told that their machine was operational, only to arrive and find out that it was not. Determined not to give up after spending hours traveling between locations, we decided to try the Greenwich office. We arrived less than 10 minutes before closing, only to learn that fingerprinting services end one hour before the office closes. This was information that the Stamford location should have provided when directing us there. After hearing everything we had gone through, Jose took the time to listen and understand the situation. Rather than simply turning away an 80-year-old who had spent the day traveling between multiple locations, he showed genuine compassion, patience, and professionalism. Jose went above and beyond to help us and treated us with kindness and respect throughout the entire process. After such a stressful day, his willingness to help made all the difference. Outstanding customer service is hard to find, and Jose deserves recognition for the way he handled our situation. Thank you, Jose, for your empathy, professionalism, and for helping an 80-year-old individual complete an important fingerprinting appointment after a very long and frustrating day.

Parked right outside the door. There was a short line in the lobby that moved quickly and was then served efficiently by a very polite lady at the counter.
