This, unfortunately, is my go to post office when I'm in the area for work. I've never experienced Communism first hand, but I'd imagine that taking care of postal business here feels the same as taking care of postal business at the Soviet Ministry of Postal Documents did in 1981. Everything moves sloooowly and the entire facility feels like it was designed to suck out your soul and break you. Workers here are disinterested and ineffective at best and hostile and useless at worst. It once took me close to an hour to pick up a package, as the two sour and excruciatingly inept workers processed the line. I will say that the guy running the passport service is a step up from the counter clerks, but for everyday stuff like mailing and picking up packages, forget it. In the end, it's an utter debacle to do any sort of business here. I've driven way out of my way to not have to use this branch and I would advise the same if you're thinking about going here. was in White Plains. had to overnight a package. it arrived at its destination with no problems. the post office is mostly P.O. Boxes--there are a couple of staffed windows where you can mail items, get stamps, and other services. the staff is kinda curt and not very friendly but still professional. solid post office when you need things to get sent out in a timely manner. read more

We all know how some post office workers are always getting a bad rap for being unmotivated, dysfunctional and the best one- dismissive. This is why I (try to) avoid coming to this location at all cost and instead- go a bit out of my way to the Bronxville or Scarsdale post offices. So why come here then? Because this is the main branch or flagship or whatever you wanna call it in White Plains- so I have to suck it up and pick up my mail. But granted- I've had passports done years ago here and service was alright. This branch is kind of dim- but fairly sized located on Fisher Ave and away from White Plains' heavy-traffic downtown area. I didn't have that peachy-color pick up slip you need in order to pick up my mail- so I tried my luck with a snapshot hubs had sent me. Thankfully, the lady behind the counter was nice enough to hand me the mail with the snapshot and my ID- and I was good to go. But listen...it happens... if you don't crack a smile at coworkers here- you ain't getting the same thing in return- some days are good. Some days are way off. read more

This is the single worst customer service experience I have had in my life. The manager made a spectacle of me by screaming at me in front of an entire office because of her and her employees' objective consistent ineptitude. I have been due multiple refunds because this office has lost three disparate mailings in one month. I find it very strange that the post office -100 Fisher Ave -White Plains NY does not have seats or benches , tables and toilets for their clients and specially for senior citizens. I also find it strange this post office on many occasions is using only one clerk to attend all the clients. Obviously this causes long unnecessary waiting lines.¨. Look, it's the post office - we all know that service isn't the fastest and the workers aren't always the friendliest. There are times though, where you're going to have to go to one - set the bar low and you won't be completely disappointed. I'm lucky because my zip code in the Bronx has two branches. The main branch I avoid - it's in a high-traffic area and the line is always a nightmare from hell. The smaller branch is satisfactory for most of my post office needs and the employees are actually friendly. But I digress, I needed to pick up a package which led me to this particular PO. I got there literally 4 minutes after opening and there was already a line of three people ahead of me. The line moved at a decent pace, and the woman behind the counter seemed to know what she was doing which helped a lot. I would say I was in there for no longer than 15-20 minutes. In general, utilize hot tips when going to the post office - go early if you can, like right at opening. Be patient, if there's a line you might be waiting a good while. Finally, have all your stuff filled out and ready before coming to avoid delays and further waits. I've never been to a PO that deserves more than 3 stars so that's what this one will get. Kudos for a decent-sized parking lot and knowledgable staff. read more

Update: It is 4/5 and my package is still in transit from March 29th from White Plains. I haven't received a call after leaving messages. Thank you White Plains Post Office for doing a stellar job and hiring the best employees who rate #1 in customer service! This place is the absolute WORST. I'm supposed to receive a package that somehow got sent to White Plains. Alright, no big deal- BUT the people at White Plains had tried to deliver the package to someone in White Plains when the package clearly said Port Chester. Hence my package "not being deliverable". So I called USPS asking if my package Could be sent to PC for pickup. It's been in "transit" for a week. So I call WP post office. The one time it actually does not go to voicemail, a woman picks up - (sounds like she rather be anywhere but work) takes my tracking number and says "well we have that street in white plains" when I explained to her what happened. She puts me on hold for over 20 minutes. So I decided to hang up and call back later. And guess what? Got the voicemail that no one ever calls you back. We went this week to get passports for our two kids and my husband. They only do walk-ins (no appointments taken). The passport window opened at 10am. We arrived at 9:50am and were the first ones in line. The woman who helped us with the passports was very friendly, patient with our two kids and efficient at her job. The Martine and Fisher Ave. offices in White Plains NY, along with their shipping/receiving facilities are a waste of funding. They couldn't care less about customers or our property. My package has been sitting in their facility for 3 weeks and no one can tell me how or was willing to find out where it is and when it will be shipped. They said I have to go to the facility because there are no phone numbers (really, they don't have phones?). Well, they do but not for the public, yet they were unwilling to call over there an inquire as to where my property is. So I need to go to the post office and what, then they will call over there? Also, the phones at the USPS consumer complaint department sends you to a voicemail box that is full. read more

This location does not even deserve one star. They are horrible. My carrier is the absolute worst. He is the laziest thing on two feet. If anything requires him to get off his rear end, he refuses to even attempt delivery. I have watched from my window as he fills out one of those cards. Lately though, he has stopped even doing that. Anything requiring him to move, gets returned as refused. Thanks to his refusal to deliver mail in a timely fashion and NOT attempting to deliver certified mail, I was not informed of an important court date. This behavior has been allowed to continue by the post office for over ten years. When complaints are made, my mail is delivered destroyed. I am sick and tired of being forced to have to put up with this location. Something needs to be done. read more

Went today to get passport photo and send off for expedited renewal. I have been to this very busy branch before and was thrilled to find it empty when I arrived. Because everyone had a minute to breathe I had the most helpful experience from two postal workers. At first they were a bit brusque, but lightened up immediately when I asked for help. I left there feeling like I had received great customer service. I really wanted to post this feedback because I know that job can be stressful when there are long lines and many tasks to complete in a short time. But today had a different feel altogether and I want them to know it was appreciated. read more
