I had a package delivered to a PO Box at this facility in mid-December and received a tracking notification 2 weeks later informing me that I needed to schedule a redelivery. I didn't reschedule in time and was told via USPS Tracking that I had to come pick it up. Well, I live roughly 1,200 miles away so there was no way I was coming to pick it up. I called the Capital Post Office and spoke with Natalie. She was wonderful as she reviewed my tracking number, and went to look for the package. While it wasn't there, she assured me the PO Box gets picked up regularly and that my package was likely picked up but keyed into the system correctly. The worst customer service experience ever! I was helped by older man who mumbled the entire time, I couldn't understand his instructions for mailing my return items. He was too lazy to just grab tape and use the same package I brought in, instead he had me go back in the line. I got the younger guy with glasses who ended up using my package and taped it up for me just as I asked the previous gentleman to do. Most people act like they hate their jobs here expect the younger guy with glasses he's the only helpful person in this office, and possibly the only person who likes his job. read more

Doug is our post man and he is AMAZING! He goes above and beyond customer service standards. Frank, on the other hand, is one of the most unhelpful people I've ever encountered. I also work for a government agency and this guy is the reason people believe government employees are lazy. Along with his inability to get off of his chair, he puts in 0% effort to be friendly, polite or pleasant. After months of dealing with mail being left at the gate or carrier calming that the gate was locked and could not deliver mail and even sent some back to sender, the review above is the result, I will keep you posted. I have complained to the postal carrier, no improvements. I have complained to the location manager, no improvements. THEN I filed an official online complaint and WOW, retaliation....mail thrown into driveway like the morning paper. My recommendation is to keep on them until something is done. I will follow up with any updates. 9/25/18 Much has not changed, I still have missing mail at least twice a month, my calls and letters went unanswered, and I too stopped reporting the incompetence. Not the best area, so it's a situation where you want to quickly get in and out and handle your business before you're mugged.

This location has employees and the shift manager that worked on 4/5/2021 at 3pm do not like doing their jobs. Yelling at my employees (who by the way are dropping off items with postage that we paid for)for dropping off so many packages that they had to scan. We are a business, if we yelled at our customers we would have no customers. Be grateful that your business is government ran and isn't based on your sales and production. However we will be using UPS and FedEx just a little more just because of horrible this location is ran. read more

The mail carriers vary from day to day from the router to the route they take and the delivery time. we get the wrong mail 2 times out of the week with wrong addresses fro 805 and 815 s. 31 ave and as well as us not getting are mail I wonder who is since we get other peoples mail. when I go into the post office its closed to by stamps at 4pm... now u cant even by them from the machine due to it being taken out years ago and no one at the counter door to help.. poor team members are usually due to poor leadership and management. this has been an on going issues for 4 years since we has our permanent carrier re-sign... read more

It's a typical post office. Some employees are more helpful than others but, hey, that's just how it is. This one has good access at the light on Washington and generally isn't too busy so I prefer it to my home branch on 7th Ave & Indian School (which always seems to have a line). Unlike 7th Ave, however, this location does not have 24 hour PO Box access. read more

Per the passport government website I had to call this post office to schedule an appointment to process an application for my minor child so I did. I work nights but 2 out of 3 of my off days are on weekdays and this is when I conduct my errands. Just the way they answered the phone is already an indicator you're dealing with people who are inept and don't give a shit. I was told there's only ONE day a week where they do passport applications but it wasn't on any of my days off. Fine. I'll manage with less sleep & just go, how long could it take, right?! When we got there we went to a counter that wasn't servicing any customers but a woman was there. She never acknowledged us, I finally said excuse me! We have an appointment for a passport application! She just pointed to that elderly Hispanic guy next to us saying he's the one who will be helping us. He heard what was being said but he too never acknowledged us. I was worried already because I dealt with him before, he's rude. I sat down and waited to be called up but this guy just kept on servicing other customers with their normal post office needs. I got mad after watching this for about 20 min, I decided we had to just get in line too like everybody else. When it was finally our turn I said "we had an appointment for this, why wasn't I being helped?" He didn't even look at me, gave no response. I provided all the paperwork including a copy of my child's father's drivers license front and back notarized, I followed the US passport government website instructions to the letter! He refused to include that with my application. I told him this was required & even tried to show him the official printed instructions. He simply stated it wasn't needed & refused to even look at the instructions like he knew his job better than the government. First of all, if I have to stand in line with all the other regular morons that go there & believe me, it was like watching the Jerry Springer show, then why did I have to make an appointment?! Why isn't there a dedicated passport application person who helps people off to the side an at empty counter who will greet me & promptly service me when I arrive?! I could've done this any other day when I actually had the time! Now what really makes me angry is that I just received an email from travelstate.gov that my application is missing the very document I had with me but this pig of a postal worker refused to take. I now have to do extra work to get this done! If I did my job like that I would've been fired long time ago yet nobody is doing anything against this guy or that post office. Everybody I know complains about that post office! I'll rather drive downtown next time but I believe it's time to disband all US post offices & let the private sector take over where I actually get timely delivery of my mail & packages by people who have more brains than those apes that work at this post office! Grrrrrrrrr I am so stinking mad still, I need to find out how to complain against this place with the proper authorities! read more
